Second thread, carrying on from

Might pop this in DD's stocking, can't see me using it.

I'm still hoping for a brow product, I'm about to run out!

FreshFaceTime · 22/12/2021 19:30

God, I am absolutely shit at applying the brown mascara. I think it's the shape of the wand. It ends up smudged above and below my eyes. I tried going slower but it didn't make any difference. Is it just me? I'll plough on and hopefully my technique will improve...

sluj · 22/12/2021 21:05

The brown eyeliner has doubled up as a brow product for me. The tip is fine enough to fill in gaps.Smile

NoEffingWay · 22/12/2021 21:25

Not long to go. I've had these before and although it smells nice it does nothing for my stress Grin

If you’ve got an old mascara at the end of its life. Use the wand to apply the brown mascara. It will work ok.

I agree the brush is really hard to use. It’s so thick. I used the curve turned away from my lashes and I had better control.

FreshFaceTime · 22/12/2021 22:59

@DobbyTheHouseElk thanks I did turn it round a bit to try and get a better angle but didn't exactly work wonders. Good idea about the old mascara wand. Will have a rummage around and see if I can find anything. I am usually OK with a thick wand. I think it's thick + curved I can't cope with Grin

MrsWidgerysLodger · 22/12/2021 23:33

Not a huge fan of lavender but Mum is so I'll pop it as an extra Xmas pressie for her.

Talisin · 23/12/2021 05:34

I thought this was something else when I took it out so a bit of a let down - and it’s not something I’ll use so will be passed on. It is a decent size and nice presentation though.

Talisin · 23/12/2021 06:46

Ha - just realised I posted on the wrong advent thread above. Todays actual M&S treat is something I’ve had before and liked so I’m happy :)

Countmeout · 23/12/2021 07:15

I love this, now I do wish this had been bigger. I rebought this after first getting it but have none at the moment.

10littlepirates · 23/12/2021 07:46

I will try today's but I was hoping for an eye cream like others! Overall I am pleased though - it's my first time getting the calendar and I'd get it again. I used the shower oil yesterday and liked it.

helenabonhamfarter · 23/12/2021 07:54

I converted to buying this after last time it was in the calendar. (I guess that's the whole purpose of the calendar).
So a good one for me!

RampantIvy · 23/12/2021 08:15

I'm pleased with today's. I now have creams to put in my travel bag.

I'm not convinced that eye cream offers anything over and above any other moisturiser TBH. I have some, but I keep forgetting to use it.

SomethingAboutNothing · 23/12/2021 08:22

Like others I really like this cream, it always gets used and seems to suit my skin.

mynameiscalypso · 23/12/2021 08:24

I have a toddler who is up half the night coughing at the moment so my skin needs all the help it can get!

Decaffe · 23/12/2021 08:35

Today's is a good one, but the missing apostrophe really upsets me! Grin

Decaffe · 23/12/2021 08:37

Reposting my wish list - we have two days left!

  • Fragrance
  • Body cream/lotion/oil
  • Hair products that tend to be suitable for more of the population, i.e. shampoo, hair spray
  • Some kind of thickening or volumising spray/mousse/powder - not everyone is fighting frizz!!
  • A nail treatment - an oil or strengthening or conditioning polish.
  • Something for the eyes - eye cream or those gel masks.
MerylSqueak · 23/12/2021 09:22

I was a bit disappointed today but if you guys think it's good I suppose I can always do with a moisturizer. My stand out new product I've tried from this calendar is the Prai 24 k gold cream. I love it!

I know what 25 is but I won't spoil it. It's the reason I took a punt on the rest of the calendar!

MerylSqueak · 23/12/2021 09:25

I also really love the Philip Kingsley hair frizz thing. Already rebought that.

Lowlifeinhighplaces · 23/12/2021 09:46

@NumaNumaYay thank you for starting a new thread.

Yesterdays offering will be going to a friend, I have had so many of these and the pillow spray due to the hotel brand I use a lot, comes in a set in a box, all get given away.

Will try todays product, but noticed last night the day cream in the calendar I have been using for the past few days is causing my skin to start to flake on my forehead and nose quite badly. My skin did feel 'tight' and quite dry, never had a product do this before.

Anyone else had this?

Bavarois · 23/12/2021 09:54

I haven't tried the day cream (was it the Pure one?) but I have tried the Prai night cream and I'm not getting on with it. It nips when it goes on (like a sort of sunburn feeling) and I've developed a couple of spots. It might be too heavy for my skin.

I wasn't interested in this morning's but I'll give it a go since everyone speaks so highly of it

latedecember1963 · 23/12/2021 09:55

Is it the Ren day cream, Lowlifeinhighplaces? I use Ren products quite sparingly because I find they can be drying, especially in winter.

The sleep cream is one of my favourites everytime I've had the calendar. I've recommended it to several friends too.
Today's value is £6.75 bringing our current total to £240.83.
I wonder if they're saving perfume for Christmas Day?

JustWhatIAlwaysWanted · 23/12/2021 10:14

I realised this would be this when I saw the slogan on the box. It's a stalwart of this calendar. This is my third tube but I don't think I've finished any of them.

Do people use this as a night cream to create the promised effect of 8 hours sleep, or do you use it in the morning to repair the ravages?

LivingDeadGirlUK · 23/12/2021 10:47

Todays looks interesting and I see its getting a lot of love on the thread. Do you use is as a night cream or before/after night cream?

Lowlifeinhighplaces · 23/12/2021 11:11

@Bavarois, @latedecember1963 , it was the Pure one in the white tub, now all around my mouth is flaky, oh I look a bit scary!
