I love those pictures of Diana
In Balmoral.

Kate & William went to the Seychelles for their honeymoon. Photos were published of them wandering along a beach in one of the Australian gossip mags, but quite a long time afterwards.

Princess Madeleine of Sweden and her husband Chris O’Neill also honeymooned in the Seychelles and the Swedish papers published several photos of them, which they were pretty (understandably) peeved about.

Diana's Balmoral tweeds were in the exhibition I saw. I remember thinking it was curiously frumpy for a 20yo, even in 1981.

I think it was an early example of literal dressing - in the Highlands, must wear tweed!
I agree, she was trying to dress maturely for the honeymoon photos and it was prematurely ageing on her.

Out for lunch with DH today, one of these places with all sorts of ephemera and old photos and pictures, spotted stuffed animals, a carousel horse, a lacrosse stick among many many things. We were shown to a table in what I immediately called Royal corner, lots of pictures of royal ladies from Victoria onwards with tiaras. I'm not sure what DH made of my identifying the tiaras and scanning for any I hadn't seen before.

I've only just seen your shout out @Maireas re Princess Anne's dress that was similar to Zara's.
I do remember the yellow flowery dress that KMD posted photos of but I was also thinking of the blue & white one in photo 1 with it being similar in style albeit the wrong colour (in comparison with Zara's recent outfit)

Finally I think Mako will be very happy in her new life as she really enjoyed living a normal life during her post grad year in Leicester whilst doing her MA.
(Well as normal as normal life can be for a Japanese Princess)

I've done the Britannia tour in Edinburgh a couple of times. It's fascinating and I would happily do it again (especially as you can have afternoon tea now).

Apparently there wasn't a double bed on board until Charles and Diana's honeymoon. The filthy animals!

Thanks for the pictures, Tracy. I quite like Anne's flicky hairdo in the middle picture, but I'm not keen on the trouser suit.

I loved the Britannia tour (and the afternoon tea we had there too). It felt curiously intimate. When you go to Buckingham Palace or Kensington or Windsor you don't get to see their bedrooms but on Britannia you can see the double bed used by Charles and Diana!

From what poor Diana said in later years, there wasn't much going on it that bed!

I've also done the Britannia tour.
I liked hearing about how Philip would go down to the staff bar for a few drinks & chat with the crew.

CPV is in Paris and clearly couldn't find what she originally packed for this event so decided to wear her pyjamas instead!

I didn't realise that even Wax has a 2nd job - he's a copilot for KLM & does a couple of shifts every month.

What beautiful photos of Amalia, that red dress is gorgeous. Credit to her for having a bar job! I read that Wax was a pilot! That's great that he keeps it going.

Those are very dramatic images, clearly Amalia has inherited her mother's flair!

Thread mascot Prince Charles has been taken out and about to celebrate St. Nicholas Day today.

He just gets cuter and cuter! The dimples on his hand in the middle photo are just adorable.

Interesting to read about Wax being a pilot; I had no idea.
