General “Waifs and Strays” Beauty Advent Calendar opening thread

As last year, I suggest we use this as a general beauty advent calendar thread for everyone with beauty calendars that may not be covered by other threads or who prefers a general thread. I’m opening FM, Harrods and M&S this year, and will aim to post on both this and the M&S threads.

Please can no-one post any spoilers before 7am on the relevant day.

Just over a week to go. I’m really looking forward to it!

Day 14 is a bit underwhelming:
MZ skin single use eye mask. Harrods. A DoD for me. I don’t find these eye masks do anything at all for me.

Bramley sleep spray F&M. Don’t use these, another one destined for DD I think.

PK frizz fighting gloss M&S 2021. Happy to try anything that promises to reduce frizz (The Oribe drops were disappointing, may try using a bit more next time)

Glass nail file. M&S 2018. This is mildly useful I guess.

So 2021 takes another point: 10:4.

@MrsMcCluskeysCat, Terry’s Choc and a nice Oskis serum does sound like a good day!

@RazorstormUnicorn, hope your session goes well. I hate it when they are recorded, it makes me really self conscious.

JL is an Hourglass mascara. I only wear waterproof mascara so I’m not thrilled by it.

ASOS is a Sleek eyeliner. Again, I don’t wear eyeliner so a bit of a disappointing day for me!

Very pleased with the chocolate orange bars in the Degustabox today! It wouldn't be Christmas without a Chocolate Orange

JL - Hourglass mascara which I thought was a lipstick so I've already opened

Boots No 7 - an eyeshadow primer

Degusta - 3 bars of chocolate orange

I guess I'll have fabulous eyes poking above my mask for a while

@AprilLady that glass nail file is fantastic and I absolutely love mine. It never wears out and is lovely and smooth.

Todays Rituals is a red exfoiliating glove. Bit disappointing as I dont need one.
Museli is chocolate krispies and nougat. I think I'll save it for after Christmas when I need a choclate hit.

I was going to say the same thing to @AprilLad. I got one in my first calendar in 2017 I think and was totally meh. Once I started using it, it became my favourite item in the calendar. It's brilliant. You just rinse it under the tap occasionally to refresh it.

The Molton Brown shower gel is noticeably lovelier than most shower gels and very concentrated so you only need a small amount

Eye mask that heats up when you put it on. Really looking forward to this but it is only a single one, which is not great.

PK hair thingy from M&S. Not terribly exciting and very small.

I’ve had that eye mask before and liked it. You can get cheaper versions in packs on Amazon which are just as good.

Also, I see us beauty advent calendar lovers are under attack again for our overindulgence, . I’m going to sit on my hands this time and not respond.

You, @JustLikea and @Orcadianrythyms are all showing remarkable restraint.

We're getting enjoyment from our calendars, they're getting enjoyment from their virtue signalling. Each to their own but our hair will look better

Oh yes I just pull up my deck chair, get out the popcorn and watch these bun fights fizzle out as fast as they began

Except in this case I lost interest as the OP displayed very troll like characteristics from the off

I had a bite - I'm hormonal today.

3 chocolate orange bars I’m counting down the days until I can get my hands on next year’s degusta.

I know I could go out and buy a chocolate orange in the meantime but it’s really not the same.

Space NK was a goat milk moisturiser.

@PomRuns, surely all you need to destress and treat yourself are daily “mindful moments”, whatever they may be.

More to the point, @Jooox, the goat milk moisturiser looks really good.

Haha - I find a lovely treat works wonders for my mind !

Day 15:

Nars eyeshadow base. Harrods. Small, but I’m happy with this. It’s perfectly timed, I was squeezing out the last of my current eyeshadow primer yesterday.

MZ Skin eye mask. F&M. Yes, the same thing I got in Harrods yesterday, only 2 this time.

REN hand lotion M&S 2021. Reasonable size this time, and will please all those on the M&S thread who were hoping for hand creams.

Studio 10 lip gloss. M&S 2018. I do use lip gloss very occasionally, so hopefully won’t go to waste. Colour is okay, but probably wouldn’t have chosen it myself.

So 11:4 to M&S 2021.
