This year's thread for chat (and potentially) swaps for the 2021 Holland & Barrett beauty calendar.

No spoilers please! As per last year, can we please use 7am as a cut of point? So, if you are an early bird and open your door before 7am, please don't post until then. At some point during the day, I'll pop a link to that day's product in the thread.

Can't wait to open this one! Last year's was great...reusable earbud notwithstanding...

I was happy with the perfume because it’s not easy to find cruelty free perfumes and it gave an option to try one. They could have stuck a few in there though.

My perfume had leaked all over the card. Shame as it smells nice!

Urgh perfume is revolting. Happy to send mine to anyone who wants it

What is everyone's favourite item so far and what item do you think you'd buy again?

The candle is my absolute favourite as the scent is so calming. The only thing is that the oil keeps making the wick go out and it's been hard work actually getting it to burn. So I won't buy it again for that reason.

The Ren toner I think is the item I will buy again. It's on Amazon for a good price. I feel like my skin is clean. But it still manages to remove more dirt.

My favourite is the eye cream so far, though I'm also really liking the moisturiser and the hand cream.

I used today's product before my shower this morning but I can't say I can tell any difference

I'm very happy with today's product. I use similar from Huda Beauty and I'm nearly finished so looking forward to trying today's.

My favourite is the eye cream. I'll definitely repurchase that, and probably also the REN toner and the Sukin face scrub. The candle is lovely but like pp I'm finding it a bugger to re-light.

Definitely the eye cream so far.
Just used the exfoliate gel from today, tingled quite a bit but left my skin pink and glowy. I like it.
Love the scent of the candle and I do like the little hair brush

What is todays? I opened mine in November and don’t remember an exfoliating gel.

A lot of mine are being added to my skincare stash as I'm using up stuff at the moment (hoping this will all last a while and make it a cost effective option to trying new skincare). The reviews on H&B for todays exfoliant are glowing (haha) so I shall look forward to trying it and once again it's a brand I've been meaning to try.

Now today’s was a winner with me! I really liked it and my skin felt clean. I also love the eye cream and hand cream.

I tried today's in the shower, which is good because a lot more came out than I expected, so I had to spread it out over my neck and chest, too. I feel nice and clean now. Seemed quite gentle on my (already damp) skin.

I really like today's I used it this morning and skin definitely looked a bit brighter. I was a bit surprised at another exfoliator so soon after the sukin one though. Or are they meant to do different things?

Haven't used mine yet but good question and interested in the answer.

I thought the Sukin one was really harsh - it was a physical scrub and my skin reacted very badly to it, so the rest of it went in the bin. I normally use acid exfoliants so hoping today's is less vicious than the Sukin experience!

Day 12: Tweezers They are H&B branded and not on the site.
I don't mean to sound a misery but is anyone going to be please with tweezers in an advent calendar?!
On a brighter note, I used the exfoliating gel last night and it made my skin feel lovely and soft so that's a definite winner.

Yes I'm a bit meh about the tweezers! I like to get little treats and new things to try in an advent calendar and tweezers don't meet those criteria 😂 Plus I think most people in the market for a beauty advent calendar will already have tweezers if they want them.

There are always going to be a few disappointing boxes though, and overall I'm pleased so far 😊

Woops I've just realised i opened the wrong date today. Finding out today's are tweezers I'm quite pleased with that as I'm always loosing mine.

Tweezers are always in use here and I’m always buying them as they get lost so I’m ok with today’s.

I’m pleased with the tweezers, they’re very similar to the tweezerman brand, which I’ve had before and like a lot.

We share our advent and fortunately my wife got the tweezers! I immediately said I didn't think most people would like them (but of course am glad she does).

I am glad to be proven wrong on the tweezers and that some people are enjoying them! It's similar to the hairband last year...lots of people were disappointed and I was thrilled as I really needed one and have used it everyday since.
I am hoping for something a little more indulgent for tomorrow though.
