I’ve been following this thread just out of interest, and thought I’d comment on today’s product. I’ve found the Sisley mask to be a really nice. It’s a 10ml sample, so bigger than it looks. In the past I’ve got a few uses out of a single tube.

I have used today's. My skin feels amazing. I do think the mask should be bigger. But I find I do get a lot of use on these sizes.

I am still on the drunk elephant moisturiser from early on.

Dd used the LM primer from hers and said its fab

Is it wash off or rub in?

I had a read of the Cult Beauty thread. I love ours but they seem much happier with what they’ve got. I’ll try and remember that for next year!

Both of these teeny tubes say ‘free sample’ on the back.

Why would they think giving free samples behind door number 21, or any door, is a good idea? Just chuck them in with an actual product.

I’m sorry to be a grinch but this calendar has been a huge disappointment for me. I was hoping things would pick up towards the end but this takes the biscuit.

That is unacceptable. It’s a product we’ve paid for, regardless of the size - it should not be a “free sample”.

On an entirely different note, I was going to regift the glittery eyeshadow we got in the first week but took doadeers advice and gave it a whirl. I've put some over my eyelids and it's absolutely gorgeous. No effort and it looks really nice. I'm glad I asked on here because I would have missed out otherwise!

@Jooox I totally agree with you.
Some of the doors have been a real let down. A dried up mascara, a couple of free samples, some really small sizes. I have been very fortunate in that I was gifted the JL calendar too, it is much better than space NK. Lots of full sized excellent products much better value for money.
I tried to be positive about this calendar but today's free samples are ridiculous

Just spoke to space nk on live chat. Their response was basically 'it's a deluxe sample. It's tough'

@Kbish1 I've just done the same the response 'yes, samples are included with the advent calendar'
Definitely won't be purchasing this one next year.
This last few days have been Poor value for money

That’s a terrible response from live chat. I certainly won’t be ordering from them again.

The JL calendar looks great @Chickydoo. I had the H&B calendar in November which I loved and would repurchase ahead of this one.

To be honest I am really happy with the rest. I love it.

But today is a piss take. Me and dd spend a fair amount with them through the year. It's put me right off them.

I thought today's was rubbish too. Also didn't like getting 2 eye creams - with the biggest window holding a tiny eye cream in a massive box. Definitely won't be repeating space nk. I kind of wish I'd got Liberty after all!

I think you have to be careful about getting yourself into a negative spiral in these things, so that you start the day expecting to be disappointed. Personally, I researched all the calendars before choosing this one, and the only other one I considered was Harrods, but I decided to go with Space NK as it came out first. I've just rechecked Cult Beauty as an example, and I wouldn't use half the products, so for me, smaller sizes that I'll actually use are better value. Favourites so far are the Dr. Barbara Sturm serum, the body cream, the candle, the Kate Somerville moisturiser - those alone probably add to to a good chunk of the calendar value, so if I get some sample sizes in-between, I don't feel too cheated.

I know that won't be everyone's view, but just trying to keep a positive note rather than thinking we've all made a huge mistake - I'm still very happy with my choice!

This cream was also in the space NK, however the face oil will be interesting to try. I do love a face oil

I agree @BookShark I too had researched and compared each calendar before buying this one. I’ve loved it overall, but I still think a teeny sample with “free sample” written on it and placed in a box on its own, is unacceptable.

I research reviews and value, general contents etc. But don’t go as far as to check details and size of each product. I’ve never had to with my previous calendars: H&B and M&S.

I can see how people would be happy with this calendar but can also see how some would be disappointed.

I think that the pricing makes a difference too. A lot of people will have bought this with the discount code. Space nk probably factored in the discount when selecting the contents and sizes, as you don't often see other high end calendars with discounts (unless they're Black Friday leftovers).

I imagine that those who paid full price may be less content with the small sizes.

I’ll try it on when I’m doing my makeup in a while. It looks lovely.
I had completely forgotten all the contents of the calendar (bought in September) so most have been a lovely surprise each morning.

Looking forward to tomorrow’s, they usually save the best for last Smile

Love this lipstick very wearable. Overall I've really enjoyed this calendar .
Ive not opened any of it yet though , I'm going to save and use as and when I need them through the year apart from the makeup which I'll probably crack open next week.Smile

Lipstick was disappointing for me. It's too similar to my natural lip colour, I expected it to be darker. I love the rosi drops from this calendar though and have already purchased the full size!

Just tried the lipstick and I like it, very glossy. Really reminds me of the 90s neural browns that were my first lipsticks. Would usually go for something pinker but will wear it. Think it would look better on me as a compliment to stronger eye make up and does need a liner. But pretty and I would not have chosen it myself so stops getting into a beauty rut
