I’m having to adapt! I moved here from a new build where I could have swanned about in a vest all year around. Although I used to get annoyed that I was always too hot if I wore one of my lovely jumpers…. I no longer have that problem

Promised myself I would not buy any more from Toast for a while, then I spotted the, previously sold out, Scallop Ruffle Neck Shirt in blue was back in stock .

Got the emailed advert featuring the intarsia knit sweater, thought ‘that’s lovely’ then had to go and have a lie down when I saw the price!

Yup! I knitted a few things like that in the 80s. Time to get my old Rowan books out .

Lovely as it is I can’t wear any wool so I’m not tempted.

I did knit a lot of Intarsia pieces on my machine in the 80's using acrylics and cotton, I’d have to get my machine repaired if I wanted to go back to doing that.

You’ve all got me looking at the knitwear now! Haven’t bought any nice knits from toast since I got a washing machine that always shrinks cashmere on the wool wash

I always do my knitwear on the silk wash - the wool one seems to spin it too much

I tried all sorts. Ruined about 6 cashmere jumpers from Toast and jigsaw and at that point I gave up - you can’t test different cycles without risking loosing another. Merino and cotton jumpers are both fine.

Me too HappyDays. I just wash them by hand and dry them flat. Too many expensive mistakes.

It was particularly galling as my old, cheap washing machine was fine!

@AmethystMoonShine, snap! I have that jumper, too, and I cannot wait for the weather to be cold enough here (Yorkshire) to be able to de-mothball it.

The jumper was the only full-priced Toast item (apart from the Christmas Furoshiki table gifts) I purchased in 2020/21, as I have been challenging myself to only buy clothes in the JL 70% off sale. Clearly, I need to get out more, but as the totally lone parent of two young children, that is not happening any time soon!

On that note, JL is still featuring previous season Toast garments at 70% off.

Plus, I don’t know if anyone else here has bought into the wonderful Cheaney/Toast footwear, but there is a current Cheaney sale on BrandAlley; I coveted a pair of Maisie brogues from a couple of winters ago but they are now less than 50 per cent off.

Finally, I wanted to alert everyone to the fact that the gorgeous Thought bamboo socks that seem to work so well with Toast fabrics and patterns, are now back in stock at TK Maxx.

@SmaugMum just wondering what you’re keying into the JL website to find the offers. I’ve tried putting Toast into the search bar, then I’ve tried going to the sale section and searching and then filtering by brand, and all I’m getting back either way is full price stuff!

@HappyDays101010, okay, so the way I go about it is searching for Toast in the new search functionality, dropping down to the percentage reduction in the search and voila! It’s really random at the moment, but in the last six weeks, I have purchased a few items, and in the last few days, I’ve noticed garments (that were not in my size) being added.

smaugmum I can never find the TOAST sale stuff on the JL website either. How do you do a special search?

Hi, I saw the Lofty Alpaca Collared Cardi in dark green / blue in a shop, but it's totally sold out online.
Do you Toast experts have any advice about their stock levels? Think I'd need a 10-12, prob a Toast 10 as am small (but mighty).

@SmaugMum - I've also noticed sale things popping up the past few days, but they just appear with the regular things under 'toast'. Is the special search thing on the app perhaps? I don't have one on the website

@mizu it's very random - lately they seem to appear late afternoon, but sometimes it's very early in the morning

Honestly, I’m not imagining it! Someone has managed to bag themselves a great bargain!

talking of which , I nabbed a pair of rust Gabis yesterday on ebay ,took a chance on the 8 and really hoping that they are not too small .. I usually have a 10, but the cord ones I have are quite baggy on me ..
Well, if they are ill just sell them on again ..I am no way an 8 (or even a 10 in other brands)

I crumbled and ordered the Gabis in Jute from Toast - having decided that even if they did pop up on JL again id probably miss them - and they arrived today. They are fine, also a bit baggy, but in a good way..

@Laska2Meryls, oh, I do hope not! I sincerely hope that someone here managed to nab a bargain.

Ah, I downloaded the app, and I did get a lilac jumpsuit appear - the likes of which I’ve never seen in any Toast store , so maybe it’s on the app, or maybe they just go really quickly.

@Laska2Meryls - were they called burnt caramel? If so, I tried them on last year and they were on the big side. Fingers crossed for you!
