Is available on Thursday in store and online apparently.

@Purpleblondelady

I've been wanting to try today's product for a while too. How many uses do you think this size rube will last? (My hair is just below my shoulders)
I only do the bottom half of my hair and I'm not terribly generous with it so it will last me a good length. Maybe a big walnut size dollop for one go.
OchonAgusOchonOh · 05/12/2021 11:57

@JustWhatIAlwaysWanted

I like this and am glad to have more of it. For me it's not too much of a faff as I prefer doing pre shower treatments to the ones where you have to do them after hair washing, leave them on then rinse as that's worse. It's part of a lazy weekend morning where I am still in PJs and will apply the elasticiser and sit with a towel on my head, have a bacon sandwich and coffee then go for a shower.

@Lipsandlashes my hair is similar but it works for me as I avoid the roots and just apply it below the ears if that makes sense. I also like the Aveda and do the same with that.

Absolutely agree. That's way worse. What are you supposed to do for the 10 minutes in the shower while you're waiting for the post wash treatment to do its stuff?
Lipsandlashes · 05/12/2021 11:58

Thanks @JustWhatIAlwaysWanted I’ll give that a try. Do you just use a tiny amount? I only put the Aveda on the mids to ends and on the dry bits at the side.

simpledeer · 05/12/2021 12:23

Agree with PP re this being a bloody faff.

Has anyone had good results putting it on dry hair? I just don't like the idea of sitting around for ages with wet hair. And I don't own a shower cap Grin

latedecember1963 · 05/12/2021 12:28

I put mine on dry hair as I go to bed. I don't put masses on so that it doesn't spoil my pillow, just enough to coat my hair.
In the morning I just shower it out and then wash my hair as normal.

simpledeer · 05/12/2021 13:07

Thanks. I might try that tonight.

ewchoc · 05/12/2021 13:30

I use hair treatments like this once a week in the bath. Run a bath, put on a face mask, wet hair (by tipping head back in the bath) and put on a hair treatment (elasticiser, olaplex, or something similar). Lie back & listen to music for 15-20 minutes or until I'm interrupted by a small child. Shower off & wash or rinse hair before getting out. It's made a big difference to my skin & hair and I look forward to it all week! I used to use a shower cap but rarely bother now, just pile my hair up on top of my head. Sometimes the ends fall in the bath & get wet, but it's my roots that need it more anyway.

woodhill · 05/12/2021 13:57

I like this and will use

NumaNumaYay · 05/12/2021 14:05

@Talisin

Ah, Elasticizer. Second only to the Back Eyeliner of Doom in its Advent calendar ubiquity. It doesn’t do much for my hair but I have a friend who loves it so I always send her mine.
Ooh, what eyeliner is that? I really like the Eyeko one!
Lipsandlashes · 05/12/2021 14:11

I’m looking forward to the eyeliner too Grin

OchonAgusOchonOh · 05/12/2021 14:25

@NumaNumaYay - it's any black eyeliner. Most people hate black eye liners.

woodhill · 05/12/2021 14:33

I don't like black but brown is great

LivingDeadGirlUK · 05/12/2021 17:06

I bloody love black eyeliner, wear it every day!

I'm probably not going to use todays hair treatment as it sounds too much of a faff, I will gift it to a friend.

LizzieSiddal · 05/12/2021 19:31

And I don't own a shower cap

You honestly don’t need a shower cap! Just wrap in a towel or pile hair on top of head with one of those grippy things if hair is long. Can’t remember their name! A small towel around your neck stops any drips being annoying.

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 05/12/2021 21:00

Just aboutto get a bath am using the shower gel as bubble bath, got the cleanser ready and going to use the deep conditioner too. Even having a glass of wine aswell. Pamper night! May even snuggle down with a film after!

Orcadianrythyms · 05/12/2021 21:06

Oh @Plantsandpuddlesuits that sounds lovely. I love that these advent calendars encourage a bit of pampering.

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 05/12/2021 21:09

Yes thats why I bought it Smile

In the ideal world I'd watch something on the ipad but being deaf means I need subtitles and if I take my glasses off in the bath I can't read tge subtitles lol!

JustWhatIAlwaysWanted · 05/12/2021 22:14

Seconding that you don't need a shower cap for the elasticiser. I just wrap my head in a towel

@Lipsandlashes yes, I only use a tiny bit. One advantage of having very fine hair is that products last for ages!

I am in the Black Eyeliner of Doom school of thought, so will be up for swapping that when it inevitably comes along. Or will look to donate it somewhere.

parentalhelpline · 05/12/2021 22:36

I think the eyeliner and the mascara are both brown... I'm hoping that's right, anyway.

HeySeamus · 06/12/2021 07:23

I'll definitely use todays. I'm a lip balm/gloss addict and have one in every hand bag/pocket. I've not tried this brand before either which is the whole point of these calendars for me. I'd rather spend £30 on 24 trial sized products than purchase just one full size and hate it (which has happened before with an expensive Elemis moisturiser) Confused

Helpstopthepain · 06/12/2021 07:50

Today’s will get used but it’s a bit dull!

mynameiscalypso · 06/12/2021 07:54

I'm another addict always on the hunt for my perfect lip balm. Will definitely try this one although it does seem quite utilitarian rather than luxury!

supadupapupascupa · 06/12/2021 08:07

I opened mine last night and applied it on my flakey nose (I've had a cold). It's actually done a really good job at moisturising!! I like it! Smells nice too

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 06/12/2021 08:08

All drama in the Greebo household this morning as DD dropped a milk bottle on the kitchen floor and went into screaming hysteria about it. Confused

I'll definitely use this, I get through a lot of lip balm, but I agree it's practical rather than exciting.

Bellsandwhistle · 06/12/2021 08:22

A good elasticiser tip is to put your hair in a ponytail and stick said pony tail under tap them apply. Have a coffee/read the paper then off to the shower to shower as usual. You can also dampen the roots and smooth some on there if needed.
