Thou shalt not covet …this Wyse cardigan

Please help me find an alternative to this cardigan

www.wyselondon.co.uk/products/romy-multi-shade-cardigan-multi

I want it SO much but that price is just eye wateringly expensive Shock

I’ve searched high and low (online!) for a chunky colourful cardigan (or anything that’s just not black/navy or cream/oatmeal will do) and can’t find anything similar.

I’m after THE ultimate snuggly cardigan to take me into autumn pre coat season and for cuddling up in front of the fire.

Any help would be gratefully received Wine

Sorry but the Wyse is really not good Confused

The Hush one is a lot nicer (and £100 cheaper!)

My favourite chunky knit cardigan is a dark gray one I got from Matalan around 5 years ago. Cost £20 and washes really well. Admittedly - not great for you as you're after bright colours... but still, so comfy and cosy.

[quote StiffyByng]Different colours and style but definitely colourful and snuggly.

OMG that poor model - I expect that was shot in high summer heat. And it is ghastly.

custardbear · 04/09/2021 20:16

I love that Hush one!

TabithaTiger · 04/09/2021 20:20

The colours of the Hush one aren't as nice. Looks snuggly though. You've got me googling rainbow cardigans now and I've just ordered this one from Asda! Not as nice as 'your' one though.

This may not be the same, but it certainly isn't beige/black and it's only £32.

UnGoogled · 04/09/2021 20:32

I had to check to see if it was made from the spun fibres of unicorn eyelashes or something.

LazyDoll · 04/09/2021 20:40

TabithaTiger I DO like the ombréness of your one but totally not snuggly enough for me. I prefer the Wyse colours but it may have to be the Hush one for me.
Feedingthebirds1 with respect, there’s a reason that’s only £32 BlushGrin

How about this? There were a few nice ones on their website

This would be an easy and fun hand knit.

If you don’t knit, do you know an older lady who does? My grandmother in law used to be happy to knit us anything we wanted, we just had to buy the wool. She enjoyed knitting with the fancy fibres we’d buy. She’d only allow herself cheap acrylic!

SinkGirl · 04/09/2021 20:47

Go on Etsy. Tons of people selling handmade cardigans like this for a lot less than that!

The trousers though ! 😱

BlueyandBingo · 04/09/2021 20:56

Don’t do it, I bought a jumper in the sale once and the quality was terrible…. Also they annoyed me recently by sending an email with a new jumper at ‘friendly prices’ or something rubbish like that - it was £175!!! Nothing friendly about that at all!!!

Not multi coloured but there’s a beautiful petrol green here that’s particularly appealing!

If you are thinking of getting it knitted then Ravelry is a good place to look for patterns. I would search for cardigan/v necked/dropped sleeves/garter stitch/stripes. I will have a look myself to see what comes up.

Why don’t you email one of the Etsy knitters and see if they could make you one?

TabithaTiger · 04/09/2021 21:18

I love that second Etsy one!

If you do second hand, check Peruvian Connection stuff on eBay. Beautiful alpaca cardigans.

Crumpledpancake · 04/09/2021 22:10

I could knit that for about £50 worth of wool, and it'd be alpaca or Merino wool for that price too! Seriously.

Feedingthebirds1 · 05/09/2021 00:10

Feedingthebirds1 with respect, there’s a reason that’s only £32

But it's definitely not black Grin

notangelinajolie · 05/09/2021 00:56

Oh my goodness that is lovely but it would be so easy to knit. Give it a go OP.
