Leopard print: yes or no?

I like it when I see it on other people, but on me it always looks tacky and a tad cheap ( Also DH starts meowing when I come into the room). But it is so popular these days that I can't get away from it.

I am 49, 5"7 and a size 10-12 if that helps. I am wary of sounding ageist but it does seem to look better on DD, 20, and a size 4-6.

I got a belt from Primark.

They look lovely @Blossomtoes
Will order for when we get back from holiday.

And a trip to Primark soon @Cocolapew
Thank you.

My sister is a size 0-4 and it doesn’t suit her either though at the moment that seems to be all she can find in her size.

In my experience it tends to suit women with blonde hair better than dark hair, and works better in small doses - so for example a scarf or a belt or leggings rather than a dress / coat etc.

@Mumblechum0

The coat has just arrived. It’s going back. Disappointingly lightweight, nylony texture, and shapeless. Never mind
I concur - mine has just arrived too and it's gone straight back in the bag for exactly the same reasons (and it's weirdly shiny, but not in that nice glossy fur way). If I actually went anywhere in it I would envisage cats sticking to me.

My other Biba leopard coat is admittedly a few years old, but lovely and nothing at all like this. What a shame.

It's a neutral and you'll never convince me otherwise! I love wearing it with black, or even better with a charcoal grey so the contrast is softer.

I have a fabulous Whistles, very soft, knee length, leopard print coat with a pink satin lining, and it's without a doubt the most gorgeous item in my wardrobe. Only ever wear it over a very plain, neutral outfit though.

Also, have a pair of leopard print, kitten heel shoes from Kurt Geiger and matching bag. But, again only ever worn with plain black/grey outfit.

@peaceanddove Those both sound fabulous. So much so that I’m a little bit jealous 🙂

RiverSkater · 26/08/2021 00:40

I only wear it in non animal colours, so blues and greens but don't often see it i those colours. Never brown and black, or beige, yellow etc as they don't suit me!

My coat is quite old but I still occasionally see it for sale on eBay or Vinted x
