Could it be the Aldi skincare?!

I'm 39 and feel like my face has aged so much in the last year... After a brief spell of looking OK last spring/summer (which I put down to upping my game with my skin routine, thanks to some lovely products in the M&S summer beauty bag), it all went to shit last autumn when these monstrous bags appeared under my eyes which just wouldn't go away. I got worried that I'd somehow ruined my face with too much REN glow tonic or something. I tried drinking more water (and less wine, thanks to dry January), sleeping more etc but nothing seemed to work. I honestly looked like I'd aged 10 years.

Anyway, when my posher skin stuff ran out I went back to good old Nivea and it looked even worse. So, the other day, I bought some of the Aldi Lacura Q10 serum and rejuvelate day cream and, I swear, the bags have shrunk back to early 2020 size and my skin has got this lovely glow. This happened the day after I used the products for the first time...!

I don't know what else it could have been - I've got a really stressful week happening, I've got a cold, I'm not sleeping well, dry January DEFINITELY finished for me on Jan 30th etc... Could it really have been the creams that have had this effect, this quickly?

I've been using the Serum now every morning and sadly I have found I'm breaking out in spots in the areas where I use it ( under eyes and mouth lines). I'm going tomreduce the usage and see if it helps because I don't want those puffy eyes back Blush

ShiningGonnaShine · 21/03/2021 19:41

You're welcome @FreshFaceTime. I'm pleased I started it too... I'm v interested to start expanding my Aldi skincare repertoire now.

I shall ignore you @Popsy321 because you are pissing on my cornflakes 😉.

Incidentally, I went to bed the other night without putting on the serum and rejuvelate cream (I crashed on the sofa and forgot) and woke up looking like shit (as in, more like shit than usual). Conclusive proof that the stuff is magic, no?

Does anyone know if it's vegan?

ShiningGonnaShine · 21/03/2021 19:45

Sorry to hear that @Catwoman123... Hope the breakout eases.

But also... Should I only be putting the serum on PARTS of my face? I've been slathering it all over (practically bathing in it). Morning and night... Oops🤷‍♀️

@Skyliner001 not sure about the Q10 but I know they have a specific vegan skincare range (which suggests the rest might not be?) if you Google "Lacura vegan" it brings up the vegan range.

@ShiningGonnaShine I just slap it on.

Thank you!!

I bought some Q10 today after seeing this thread.

LoisLane66 · 04/11/2021 19:53

I use lots of Aldi beauty products including the glycolic toner, caviar day cream Q10 night cream, Retinol Q10 serum, rose oil drops, snapshot ready primer, mascara, hair masque and various hot wash cleansers plus the green quartz facial roller which I keep in the freezer. I'm 76 and never wear make-up except for a bit of mascara, do my skin needs to look the best I can make it look. Used just about every brand over the years but Laura is the one which has had the most effect and at an age where I can notice whether a product works...or not.
I even have their hair detangling brush.
I've never been disappointed. 4 drops of rose oil massaged in after using one of the toners is my night-time routine. 5*

LoisLane66 · 04/11/2021 19:54

Correction. So, not do/Lacura not Laura.

LoisLane66 · 04/11/2021 19:57

Slathering on a serum or any other product is not how to use it. It tells you on the box. Using more does not multiply the effect.
