I was 'accused' of having Botox and fillers

In a very aggressive manner. I have nothing against Botox/fillers and have considered doing it myself during a very stressful year. I was sneered at, felt a bit taken aback, and didn't know what to say. I couldn't defend myself because that would just feed the attack, plus I have nothing against non invasive cosmetic procedures and am quite pro them. I did consider getting something done as we came out of lockdown 1, but I suppose I won't bother now
I'm 53, and think it's my new hair colour that has lifted my face. Being brave, here's my pic. Does my hair colour lift my features? I was going to go over it with darker toner, maybe I should leave it as it is?

Grin is this where you tell us about your fabulous skin care regimen, and how we can buy it?

unipixie · 10/12/2020 10:43

It's called Chanel vitalumiere foundation darling 😉

You look good, don’t waste your time on petty minded jealous individuals. Do what makes you feel good, i would stay as you are.

ferretface · 10/12/2020 10:53

Your hair is gorgeous, don't change it.

SenorFrog · 10/12/2020 10:57

I'm 53 too, I love my hair that colour but the grey shows within minutes, lol. I've had no choice but to go lighter. I'd leave it like that if I were you, so long as you don't get grey through, you may be like my husband with no grey.

thedevilinablackdress · 10/12/2020 11:43

We'd have to see what you looked like with your previous hair colour to see if the new one has made a difference.

Hellotheresweet · 10/12/2020 11:46

Rest assured I wouldn’t think that!

I’d just think... well, like the colour of your hair actually

Hellotheresweet · 10/12/2020 11:48

Not being rude btw!

Just you look like a woman in her late forties nudging 50, wouldn’t think Botox or fillers no

Alexandernevermind · 10/12/2020 11:50

I like your hair colour, it suits you.
You can tell you haven't had fillers etc, because you look very natural - sickeningly young for your age, but natural.
Because I'm fair haired and light skinned I look much, much older than I am this time of year.
People will sneer if they are jealous.

AcornAutumn · 10/12/2020 11:51

Can’t you just shrug and say “no, I haven’t had anything done”?

Whoever said this to you, if it’s a friend, it should be an ex friend.

Bumwart21 · 10/12/2020 11:55

You look really good for 53 :) love the hair x

Flowersandtea · 10/12/2020 12:01

I think you look beautiful and very young so maybe it’s just an assumption because of that. Ignore and feel good about yourself.

Hiccupiscal · 10/12/2020 12:04

You are beautiful! Im in my mid 30s and you look better than I do!

Your hair colour is spot on. Dont change a thing. You continue being fabulous, you.

Higgeldypiggeldy35 · 10/12/2020 12:05

You're stunning and look younger than me (37). I could only dream of looking that good at 53!!! Please let me know your secret!!

justanotherneighinparadise · 10/12/2020 12:06

You look lovely.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 10/12/2020 12:06

We can't really comment on whether your hair lifts your features as we don't know the 'before' Confused
You may get some grief over this post though.

workshy44 · 10/12/2020 12:10

You don't look like you have had fillers. You don't look 53 either, maybe late 40's but you look stunning with amazing hair and skin

XiCi · 10/12/2020 12:11

Lol, I'm a massive fan of chanel vitalumiere also.

You look lovely, very natural so not sure where the fillers/botox thing has come from. Who was it that has accused you, a friend or some random on the street? If it was a friend and said just after new hairstyling then yes maybe your new hair has knocked years off you. Hard to say without knowing what you looked like before!

TheRealJeanLouise · 10/12/2020 12:16

You won’t get any grief from me OP. I naturally have very full lips and I’m constantly asked if I’ve had lip fillers. The first couple of times it was amusing but now I’m on 10+ times I’m getting miffed and aware people think I’m lying as they ask more than once.

I’ve been putting it down to cosmetic procedures being the ‘norm’ these days and a distorted view of natural, untouched faces pushed through the media/SM. I’m well practiced at saying ‘no I’m just beautiful dear’. What’s frustrating though, is that I used to be teased relentlessly for looking different (I really don’t, I just have full lips!!) as a child to the point of wishing my lips were less full and now everybody seems to want to look like me Hmm

Janegrey333 · 10/12/2020 12:21

How odd to have someone just come up to you in order to say that! Gosh!

JMAngel1 · 10/12/2020 12:23

They just sound jealous - you look wonderful. I don’t think you look like you’ve had anything done - you’re just very lucky to have very good skin/face structure. Have you gone lighter or darker with your hair?

Janegrey333 · 10/12/2020 12:26

Your hair is quite dark which is quite unforgiving at any age.

Girlintheframe · 10/12/2020 12:26

You look fabulous!

Your hair colour really suits you, I wouldn't go darker.

Janegrey333 · 10/12/2020 12:28

I want to ask if you are using hair extensions but I dare not or I might be accused of being jealous. It seems to be the default accusation in these parts.Hmm

Wyntersdiary · 10/12/2020 12:29

If anyone else says it just laugh and say I wish! with a wink and ignore, they want a reaction from you
