ASOS Advent Calendar

Not sure if there are many people with this calendar but thought I'd start a thread just in case.

I'm happy with day 1. Not something I'm dying to use but it's a nice brand, full size, and I'll definitely get use out of it. I think that's a good start.

Very happy with today’s as I’ve wanted to try this for years (have never got around to buying it)!

ashmts · 06/12/2019 09:31

Not quite sure how to feel about this one. I've never heard of the brand but most reviews seem good. I'll give it a go.

This would cost £6 on ASOS (Mane 'n Tail 60ml shampoo and conditioner) so running total is £51.50.

I will say that so far I'm impressed with the variety of products. And also the lack of repetition from last year, I was worried if I got ASOS two years in a row it would feel samey but it doesn't at all.

I'm also really pleased with today, it's good to get a shampoo AND conditioner together. I was eyeing this up in Sainsburys last week so it's good to try it first.

Fucck · 06/12/2019 17:15

Please can I join? Only just found the thread.

I was so looking forward to opening this calendar and I'm feeling a little MEH so far 😭 although I didn't pay full price for it, I managed to get two promotions against it so paid just shy of £50.

Day 1) I don't suffer with bad skin thank goodness but hopefully it will prove useful for the few single spots I get now and then, and will last a long time, but not something I'd buy.
Day2) I have hair thats very thin, lank and grease prone so I never brush my hair in the daytime so I'm not really in need of a handbag hairbrush, or another brush of any description really, so that might get passed on to one of my dds
3) I'll probably wait to use it until my current, very similar, moisturiser is finished, never tried the brand so I'm happy to give it a go.
4) I didn't like the smell and school were asking for donations for the tombola so I packed it straight off with dd 🙈
5) I was sooo looking forward to this and am feeling cheated about the size!!
6) I've used M&T before and was ok so at least I know I'll use it 🤷🏽‍♀️

Let's see what tomorrow brings 🎁

eatsleepmoverepeat · 06/12/2019 22:41

I opened all of mine in one go so I’m struggling to remember what’s what but I was really happy with this one overall

Beadstar · 07/12/2019 09:07

I’m very happy with today’s too as I started using this product a couple of months ago, so I’m happy to have a back up ready to go.

I’m very happy overall but I did check the contents before buying. That was a long time though, so I have since forgotten most things that are in it! The only disappointment was the size of the sand and sky product but as it left my skin too dry I’m quite glad it was a small size now!

ashmts · 07/12/2019 09:12

This feels more like it. It's apparently only £6 on the ASOS site ( £57.50 value now) but I think it looks more expensive. I'm excited to try it.

The Ordinary hyaluronic acid 2% + B5

TattiePants · 07/12/2019 15:53

I’m another one looking forward to trying this. Do you use this in place of a serum?

Beadstar · 07/12/2019 17:02

I do, Tattie, but I only use it in the morning; I use a serum at night.

Olive122 · 07/12/2019 17:50

I use this product anyway, so nice to have a back up for when I run out. Although I bought The Ordinary marine hyaluronics in the November sale and I now prefer to use that one in the morning as it soaks in quicker.
For the price they do some fantastic products!

MissLadyM · 08/12/2019 01:15

It's £52.50 at the moment...I'm so tempted..

Fucck · 08/12/2019 10:24

My 12yr old dd was stood next to me and claimed today's offering 😆 most of them aren't my colour or I have palettes very similar but the 'conker' looks nice. Might steal it back to sample that one.

buckeejit · 08/12/2019 11:41

Nice palette but think I already own it somewhere so will gift to dd or dn. I'm delighted with everything (apart from mane & tail) so far so it must be downhill from here!

ashmts · 08/12/2019 12:17

I just bought two new neutral palettes but I'm pleased to have this. You can never have too many neutrals really. I think I had Sleek highlighter before and liked it so hopefully the eyeshadow is good too.

Think this is £9 on ASOS (although seems cheaper elsewhere) so running total £66.50.

OP posts:
Beadstar · 08/12/2019 16:34

This looks nice but I might gift it as I already have lots of lovely eyeshadows that I’ll never get through.

Fucck · 09/12/2019 09:45

Love todays offering! A brand I've always wanted to try, I hope it's good.

TattiePants · 09/12/2019 10:10

I really rate Philip Kingsley products. I use a different leave in conditioner at the moment but this one smells lovely so would be happy to switch if it works well.

colaelf · 09/12/2019 10:25

So is today's something you put on wet hair and leave in?

Fucck · 09/12/2019 10:34

Colaelf, I lifted this from the website.

"On Wet Hair:
Shake before use. Spray liberally through mid-lengths and ends of hair. Comb through and style as appropriate.

On Dry Hair:
Scrunch into coarse, dry hair to add smoothness and shine; or spray into fine - medium hair to de-tangle."

Beadstar · 09/12/2019 11:53

Happy with today’s, I used it to refresh my curls this morning and it did the job.

Got a shampoo by the same brand in another calendar today which isn’t for my hair type but which I’ll use alongside it anyway.

ashmts · 09/12/2019 16:20

So do you shampoo, rinse and then use this? Instead of rinse out conditioner or as well as? Looks like you can use it as a heat protector spray too before styling. I've heard good things about the brand too although it's usually the elasticiser people go on about.

125ml of this on ASOS for £18 so this would be just under £9. Running total £75.50

OP posts:
Beadstar · 10/12/2019 12:04

Thanks ashmts. I will use it after my usual conditioner because I can only brush my curly hair when it’s covered in conditioner.

I’m happy with today’s Oskia cleansing gel.

Olive122 · 10/12/2019 12:42

Really happy with today’s cleanser. It’s a brand I’ve been wanting to try for a while.

Fucck · 10/12/2019 13:27

I am happy with today's too, it looks very promising.

TattiePants · 10/12/2019 13:59

This gets rave reviews so really happy with this cleanser.
