I can't decide if these are stylish or not? I am a pretty young looking 39 year old, and want something I can wear with skinny jeans and skirts for smart casual at work and at the weekend. I am specifically looking for non-leather boots so these got a tick.

Just a question. Why is everything now vegan? Didn’t we used to say synthetic and look down our noses at it? 😂

PurpleDaisies · 14/11/2019 14:42

Lots of glues or dyes used in non vegan footwear, even if it isn’t leather, contain animal products.

PurpleDaisies · 14/11/2019 14:43

@MrsWidgerysLodger I don’t have them-they’re next on my hit list. I have the cherry red vegan pascals which are beautiful. I got them on sale for £65!

Those saying the M&S boots are old-fashioned must be so old they remember them from the 90s. The square toed flared heel boots are all the rage amongst the young and trendy bunch who are fresh to the 90s retro vibe and not seeing it for the second or third time around. I like them- they are pretty chic and will look great with ultra skinny jeans, leggings and possibly a skirt? I think the model is wearing a size too big- they'll probably look neater on the foot if they fit you well.

They are Nanna

Much nicer ones here...

Loveislandaddict · 14/11/2019 15:10

I quite like them.

Dita73 · 14/11/2019 15:14

They look too old for you. Having said that I’m really old and I still wouldn’t wear them! Try Schuh. I love Fly boots

Liedownsnikey1965 · 14/11/2019 15:29

Yes i agree,,we did

oliviaskies · 14/11/2019 15:34

My 16 year old DD has those New Look boots and they look amazing on her! Lot's of her friends (16 and 17) wear similar things, so must be 'in', at least around here. Quality seems okay, but for £30 wasn't expecting amazing quality anyway.

FemininPluriel · 14/11/2019 16:02

They’re not my style at all, but I have to say all the bright young things where I work (early-mid 20s) are wearing this style of ankle...so I wouldn’t say they’re ‘frumpy’. The block heel is fashionable right now.

I prefer an almond toe and flat or slim-high heel, which suits me, but I think is seen as less on trend (I’m 42 and NOT on trend) Grin.

Topseyt · 14/11/2019 16:41

I thought we were boycotting M&S?

You can boycott if you want to. Some people apparently are. I am not.

They are one of the few places I can get clothes that actually seem designed with my shape in mind so I won't be cutting off my nose to spite my face. I shall just refuse to use mixed sex changing rooms - easy enough, I know my size for everything I buy there anyway.

I like the M & S ankle boots. The New Look ones are a bit too chunky for my liking, though I think some people could carry that off. Not me though. I am too prone to looking like a duck waddling if I get it wrong (short-arse here).

quietheart · 14/11/2019 17:00

Not 4 1/2 but reviews say they come up a bit small, synthetic materials but not sure what materials are vegan friendly.

They are nice. Abit full for a night out or a nice meal. Perfectly acceptable for school runs, shopping, and day to day wear. I'm 30 and would happily wear them with my black jeggings x

LionelRitchieStoleMyNotebook · 14/11/2019 17:52

I've just bought these and wear them with skinny jeans and dresses

I hope anyone who isn’t boycotting , but wants single sex changing rooms , tells M&S this.
I am sadly boycotting them, because i have daughters who I want to have single sex space, and also I had a Mum who would have been very upset in a mixed sex changing space , she has died, but I bought her entire wardrobe for years from Marks, I spent thousands in there on my Mum, and yet they treat other old ladies as though their need for a private, dignified space doesn’t matter at all.

Topseyt · 14/11/2019 21:05

I do tell them about not wanting mixed sex changing rooms. I can usually buy stuff that fits me anyway, so just buy it and take it home.

On the odd occasion something isn't right I can take it back and exchange it.

GetbusywiththeFizzee · 14/11/2019 21:21

As a matter if unterest is there anywhere/anything that shouldn't be boycotted for some spurious reason, according to MN

I don’t think welcoming men to freely access women’s changing rooms whilst dismissing women’s concerns is a ‘spurious’ reason Hmm
The boots - meh.

GetbusywiththeFizzee · 14/11/2019 21:25

Btw these are the kind of men M&S are welcoming into women’s changing rooms:

Soffty

Purchased two pairs and was not disappointed very well made but then all my M&S knicker are. The front panel is made of very stretchy material so they will accommodate a man very well the rear is cut quiet high but do not ride up like a thong and fell very sexy with the black lace. I would recommend them to any male or female that like the Brazilian style panties.

PurpleDaisies · 14/11/2019 21:27

Isn’t this a thread about some fairly innocuous looking boots? Confused

I have no clue what this is , googling gives me soft shoes or a male stripping group ( who I cannot imagine want to use M&S)

SirVixofVixHall · 14/11/2019 22:57

It is a review left for Brazilian knickers.

GetbusywiththeFizzee · 14/11/2019 23:21

70 , here’s the link. The M&S lingerie section appears to be very popular with male reviewers who enjoy wearing women’s underwear.

You’re old if you remember the 90s? 😱🙄

ageingdisgracefully · 15/11/2019 07:13

Crikey! I remember the 60s.

Better get that funeral plan in place....
