Who has ordered one?
It just went on general release today. Not bad at £80 for non-subscribers, and worth over £370. Lots of different products. Quite makeup heavy but I’d use most of it.

Anyone else?

For a primer it feels a bit weird... It does look nice though (like that helps 😂😂)

Writersblock2 · 09/12/2019 07:23

Happy with the bath oil, looks very luxe!

I haven't had a bath in decades, and am not about to start now. I wonder could it be used as a body oil?

Butterymuffin · 09/12/2019 08:34

Hmm, I rarely have baths so also not as much practical use for me. I got the perfume of this in a Glossybox a few months ago and it was nice, so I might add this to someone's Christmas present.

whyamidoingthis · 09/12/2019 09:58

I have to say, overall, I'm feeling a bit meh about this calendar. The lip pencil, the eye liner, the eye shadow (although I will only use about half of the colours) and the perfume were good. The scent on the hand cream kind of ruined it. I'm not overly impressed with the sponge, the brush, the primer and the bath oil. Hopefully things will improve.

I also have the debenhams one, which I'm more pleased with. My dd has the holland and barrett one, which I think is the winner of the 3, despite being the cheapest.

SymphonyofShadows · 09/12/2019 19:36

I’m feeling the same why, I’m tempted to open the lot just to see if it gets better. I’ve also got M&S which has been better overall so far.

Sleek matte lip cream today! Will pop it on for work in a moment. Looks good though!

OP posts:
whyamidoingthis · 10/12/2019 08:35

I tried it on and found it a bit messy to apply. Probably because I'm not used to a cream lipstick. I like the colour though.

whyamidoingthis · 10/12/2019 10:45

I'm finding the lipstick quite drying. I do like the colour though and it seems to be staying well

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 10/12/2019 10:53

Not a fan of matte lips full stop so will be passing it on. I do have one of these that I got from a glossybox a few months back (where I found I didn't like matte as a look) and Why is right, it sticks like a bugger Grin

chocolateneededrn · 10/12/2019 14:56

I do like today's offering! I've got a few Sleek lip creams already which I like

Butterymuffin · 11/12/2019 08:24

Today's is a brand that people seem to like though I am puzzled by 'in shower styler'. Sounds like it will be a faff..

Yesterday's lip creme looks nice though I realised afterwards that I had the exact same one, same shade, in last year's Amazon calendar. Didn't use it then as I had a few to get through. I will give it a go though as I like muted shades.

Writersblock2 · 11/12/2019 10:08

I’m okay with the hair styling stuff. Decent size. I’ll give it a go!

Today’s is an eyebrow pencil. Never heard of the brand. I’ll see how it turns out.

TinselTortoise · 12/12/2019 08:01

I've heard of the brand. They normally make quite quirky makeup. I've got a glittery purple eyeshadow from them (I didn't choose it it came in a subscription box!). I don't personally use Eyebrow pencils so am abit meh with today. Pencil is a decent size though. Wonder if we will get a mascara soon?

whyamidoingthis · 12/12/2019 08:36

I use eyebrow pencils occasionally but I usually forget. I've started putting my makeup on at work (avoid traffic) so I might throw it into my work makeup bag and start using it.

chocolateneededrn · 12/12/2019 16:22

Happy about the hair stuff, it's CG approved so I can give it a try! I use a pomade normally but I'll give the pencil a try.

Writersblock2 · 13/12/2019 07:43

Far spot concentrated serum today. Looks interesting.

OP posts:
whyamidoingthis · 13/12/2019 09:10

What is it though and what does it do?

chocolateneededrn · 13/12/2019 09:19

It costs £99 for a 30ml bottle so pretty pricey - we get 7ml.

whyamidoingthis · 13/12/2019 12:35

Pricy!

Writersblock2 · 13/12/2019 16:39

Dark not far. I shouldn’t type with one eye open!

OP posts:
whyamidoingthis · 13/12/2019 17:09

From the website:
Formulated with l-ascorbic acid, lactic acid, kojic acid, alpha tocopherol and liquorice root extract, this potent serum helps to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles while combating the appearance of dark spots, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone and dullness. It helps to clear and brighten the skin while defending the complexion against environmental aggressors.

I don't have dark spots but it claims to work on wrinkles too.

Anyone know when to use it? Is it after cleansing and before moisturiser or what? Website just says use daily.

chocolateneededrn · 14/12/2019 09:39

I'd image it would go after cleanser and before moisturizer, that's what I've been doing. Cream eyeshadow today, nice colour.

whyamidoingthis · 14/12/2019 09:51

That's what I thought. I'll give it a go. I know I won't be buying the full price version anyway, given the priceShock

I love the eye shadow colour for today. I've never used a cream eye shadow before (bit of a pattern with most of the products for me...) but I'm looking forward to trying it.
