GlossyBox Advent Calendar 2019

Who has ordered one?
It just went on general release today. Not bad at £80 for non-subscribers, and worth over £370. Lots of different products. Quite makeup heavy but I’d use most of it.

Anyone else?

Bit hmm about this as I don't use pencils but the colour looks nice so might give it a go. Is it a proper nude when on or darker?

whyamidoingthis · 04/12/2019 18:46

It's darker.

Writersblock2 · 05/12/2019 07:28

Ooooh. I like the strawberry hand cream. Not sure I consider it luxe but it looks nice (not smelled it yet) and I think it’s full size.

Mine is mango. It smells pretty strong without even opening it. Will definitely use it though.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 05/12/2019 08:45

As Writers said, not especially luxe being a Body Shop hand cream but it does smell beautiful.

My scent is Wild Argan Oil - it does wonders for my hair so hopefully it'll do wonders for my hands too Grin

The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil hand cream - 30ml

whyamidoingthis · 05/12/2019 08:49

Wild Argan Oil sounds much nicer than my mango. I'm not generally a big fan of strongly scented creams.

whyamidoingthis · 05/12/2019 08:53

Apparently the 4th option was almond. £5 value.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 05/12/2019 08:54

Oooh seems as though a lucky dip on scents - Mango, Strawberry and Wild Argan Oil - anyone else get anything differently scented?

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 05/12/2019 08:54

Oooh Almond - thank you, Why! :)

Butterymuffin · 05/12/2019 09:27

I got the argan oil one! Pleased with that.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 05/12/2019 10:59

DD got mango. Not a huge fan TBH-we should do a swap!! Grin

whyamidoingthis · 05/12/2019 11:53

I suspect we wouldn't have too many takers for the mango. I'd definitely have preferred argon oil or almond.

Writersblock2 · 06/12/2019 07:27

Hm. I like the brush. I like brushes generally. But a different calendar I have also had a brush that trumped this one.

I will use this though.

Hoping for something swanky tomorrow, Glossybox!

OP posts:
Butterymuffin · 06/12/2019 08:15

Meh, brushes aren't exciting. Never mind, onward to something swanky!

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 06/12/2019 08:26

Meeeeh. Feels like filler again

Luxie brush - allegedly around £9. eh.

whyamidoingthis · 06/12/2019 08:28

I'm disappointed with it too. I feel pretty much the same as I did with the sponge.

Writersblock2 · 06/12/2019 08:30

That’s a good point - sponge AND a brush and it’s only day 6? Meh. Xmas Hmm

SymphonyofShadows · 07/12/2019 07:36

Today’s is a bit niche but it’s picked up a bit for me after the last few days. I’ve got a few nights out next week so I’ll definitely be trying it.

Writersblock2 · 07/12/2019 08:05

Loving the packaging on the eyeliner, and it’s a gorgeous gold colour. Not sure how this will work with my eyelash extensions but I’ll definitely give it a go.

OP posts:
Magissa · 07/12/2019 09:10

Love the eyeliner. After the boring sponge and brush I feel quite cheerful opening this. It's a lovely rose gold colour. Love the jewel as well!

whyamidoingthis · 07/12/2019 09:13

I'm really pleased with this. I love the glittery bits in the eyeliner. It's a lovely rose gold colour. Definitely an improvement on the last few days.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 07/12/2019 09:59

Will be passing this on my cousin. I wish I could use eyeliner but I can't... and I will lose an eye trying to Grin

Love the packaging though - especially the red crystal on the end.

Writersblock2 · 08/12/2019 09:28

MUA primer oil with gold flakes (which I suspect do bugger all). It’s okay...Hmm

OP posts:
whyamidoingthis · 08/12/2019 09:31

Pretty much the same reaction here. It feels a bit oily for a primer. And given the value is £4, I suspect the flakes may not be real gold Grin

chocolateneededrn · 08/12/2019 10:08

I've tried it before and wasn't impressed really Sad
