What are you all buying/wearing for Autumn/Winter

Up here in rainy Scotland, it is cool and wet and the schools go back this week and next, so I am feeling winter is nigh. I am also in the process of losing weight 1 stone down and 1.5-2 stone to go and for the first time in ages I feel ready to take an interest in what to wear rather than what just fits. So come you girls lots of links to inspire me.

Are you all going naked then?

I'm still waiting for summer so can't even get my head round autumm/winter yet

MrsBadger · 12/08/2007 15:05

I am just waiting to get out of the three farking kaftanny tunic that still fit round the bump and back into my lovely non-mat winter clothes (mmm, cords)...

moondog · 12/08/2007 15:11

I shall mostly be wearing a FWW pilot's helmet and goggles, serge cigarette pants, canvas espadrilles and an Elizabethan bodice.

ChippyMinton · 12/08/2007 15:22

Not sure espadrilles will work in winter moondog. Maybe you could fashion some covers from carrier bags and elastic bands?
Me, I shall mostly be wearing a smile and a decent haircut. Takes you anywhere i find.

Very stylish, Moondog!

Tbh I hope this Autumn's clothes will be better than this summer's efforts. I haven't actually seen any Autumn clothes yet (apart from Boden and Next - no thanks) and I think I'm going to need some new stuff for our holiday.

JackieNo · 12/08/2007 15:35

Oooh, ooh, I've bought some shoes, but I can't find them anywhere to link to. Black suede mary-janes with a heel, kind of forties looking. From Debenhams, just £35, which I figure isn't too bad for shoes. I tried on some others that looked a bit like these, but they were in teal suede, and the elastic band was a bit narrower, and the heel not as pointy, and although I loved the colour, decided they made my feet look too stumpy.

Idreamofdaleks · 12/08/2007 17:12

Its meant to be ALL ABOUT THE WAIST for AW0708

Since I don't really have one I don't expect to be buying much this season.

However I have already bought a nice purple sweater dress and some high waist wide leg jeans with detachable shoulder straps (a sort of more sophisticated take on dungarees).

ChippyMinton · 12/08/2007 17:56

The jeans sound 70s retro in a good way, i hasten to add
I appear to have lost my waist too

JackieNo · 12/08/2007 18:01

I have the appearance of a waist, but only because my norks and hips/bum are so huge .

at long legs. Agree 'mary janes' a horribly twee word. But nice shoes.

nomdeplume · 12/08/2007 19:39

Hmmm. The only A/W thing I've bought so far are \link{http://www.vertbaudet.co.uk/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductId=V701003045&&DocumentId=V328&& CompanyId=V&&Path=783%2f833&&source=\these.

I suspect that because the link is from Vertbaudet (!) that it won't link direct. Anyway, if it doesn't I bought the riding boots in brown (cat no 1307254). I used a code so I got them for £37. Real leather and very nice in RL. They are my bargain of the year.

nomdeplume · 12/08/2007 19:40

fuck. what a crap link. It deffo won't link direct if I do it like that...

is this better

nomdeplume · 12/08/2007 19:40

Vertbaudet are brill for unusual shoes and boot bargains (only good for those up to UK 6.5)
