Beauty Advent Calendars 2019

It’s almost that time again! Anyone have their eye on anything?

I’m waiting on the M&S one as I loved it so much last year (no sign of it so far but I suspect it will be similar to 2018 for release date, so around start of November). I also like the look of the Look Fantastic and Nuxe but three may be pushing it.

If money was no object I’d be on the Jo Malone and Lush calendars.

Glossybox one arrived today, i dont think i can wait to Dec, might just need to pick a few bits out 😁

Call me a grinch, but most of them seem like a massive con to me . If I'm going to drop £300 in Jo Malone or anywhere else, I want products that I actually like, not a random selection, lots of which I probably won't use.

I bet beauty brands can't believe their luck that they have managed to persuade us to pay a fortune for sample sizes that used to be given away free in promotions, just by putting them in a calendar.

@Moomin8 If it helps I ordered mine when they were first released for subscribers. Preordered it on the 6th September and it arrived today. It was dispatched on the 28th September.

Apparently they were all started to be dispatched at the same time (subs and non subs) so it shouldn't be much longer :)

Yay, so excited! Glossybox has a really good moisturiser worth over £90 and the make up looks good as well.

It gave me a little smile every morning last December opening my advent calendar, and seeing what my treat for the day was. And then chatting about it on MN. Well worth the £40 or whatever M & S charge.

My Latest in Beauty one arrived today. It smells quite nice.

I've had Liberty every year for ages, last year I also got a Net a Porter one. This year I'm thinking of the Cult Beauty one- did anyone have that last year?

I quite like the Space NK and the Charlotte Tilbury ones too actually. ... decisions, decisions.

I may also get myself a whisky one.

(I did get a Space NK GWP recently and am still working my way through that lot, so I'm not sure I actually need anything else, but I enjoy the advent calendars more than Christmas presents I think).

Not sure I will bother this year. Still using up stuff from last years' ones

@FadingStar - mine arrived too. I wanna open it! Packaging is flimsier than the H&B but I’m still excited. I was a bit disappointed the “random discount card” was just inserted in the loose plastic sleeve and wasn’t hidden in an envelope or something. I think after making a fuss about it as a selling point they could have made it seem more exciting. not easily pleased, apparently

@AnnaNimmity - I think the Cult Beauty is new this year. It looks ace!

I do agree that the M&S one is fairly priced, @ajandjjmum. Maybe I should give it a try - after all, it's not really fair to judge otherwise, is it?

My Look Fantastic and Space NK both arrived today! Couldn't resist a sneak peak. Have to say that am a bit disappointed in the Space box so far. Packaging very flimsy and not Christmasy at all ☹️, Look Fantastic seems much better. I can't believe it was a third of the price of the Space NK.

Writer...let me guess.....it was a fiver off! My sis got up at midnight to buy this calendar and she said she had it by two minutes past midnight.....she also got a £5 voucher!!

OldGrinch that's a shame! I thought the photos of Space NK looked really beautiful and classy. The flimsiness doesn't sound good. My LookFantastic arrived today. It feels really luxurious. Love the dark blue and gold.

My Glossybox one has arrived too, so tempted to open it. I had it last year, and M&S. I didn't join in the M&S thread last time like I usually do, as I opened that one in Nov. I was having chemo last year and felt like crap, so it was a nice little treat every day, stretched over Nov & Dec.

My Lumene advent has just arrived. I had it last year and this year's has lots of different products. There was 25% off selected skincare at Feel Unique at the weekend and the advent was included.

My spaceNK one has arrived. Was a last minute thing. Love it, and i love the packaging!

I wonder if the £100 vouchers exist.🤔 That's brilliant Caggie...I thought it looked beautiful in the pictures. I'm holding out for Cult Beauty but I'm going to keep it until Christmas I think and just say to my DH it can be his present to me. That way I can justify the cost.

Does anyone know what calendars are done by Estee Lauder? Normally dh buys me the liberty one but he's had an estee lauder labelled, advent calendar sized parcel delivered last week!

Not to sound like a brat but I'm probably going to be disappointed as there aren't any that I'm that bothered about this year, apart from F&M
