Couldn't think of any sort of creative title, I'm afraid! Link to old thread

Lol len! Sounds like they may be a bit over-invested in their parking(or bored!) (though I suppose this is MN where there are live parking threads, so I may be in the minority...) Also, we now have an enormous drive to park our zero cars in, so I may not understand the angst.

Yes ella that looks amazing! Though I can understand the inflatable rivalry. Hope they manage to sleep in the heat...

never I agree with laska - it is lovely, and a really nice print, but you have the others on order to compare. For me I think it would have to be perfect (and fill a substantial hole so would guarantee to be worn loads) to pay that much. And yes, if you can wait it probably will go in a sale. So sorry to hear of your funeral 😢. That is always going to be hard. Flowers

I know the kind of office you mean laska. Totally rubbish in any kind of heat (and not great in the cold either!). Sounds stifling. Are you intending to buy somewhere over there when you retire? Sounds blissful.

It's been nice here today, but definitely not those kind of temperatures. I've been stuck inside working (as far as I could with the noise... decided not to make a couple of phonecalls as I couldn't guarantee I would be able to hear properly!). DS has been at the beach and says there were jellyfish. Yuk.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/07/2019 20:57

Well in a way @not, it kind of does as I really do not own any dresses like it.but im inclined to return them and just wait it out. I have the striped version coming [although nowhere near as nice] but even if that doesn't fit, I don't think I will be that heartbroken that I returned the pinwheel ones. So I think back they will both go :)
Then, come the winter sale, if they are in it I know how they look and will purchase [ unless something else catches my eye]. As for the paisley dress, well it will have to be stunning for me to keep it as I feel there is not that much of the season left. Next year will bring other temptations to look at! As for the diamond dress, if it fits, I reckon I could wear it with a cap sleeve tee under it peeping at the sleeves [black or white] and wouldn't look out of place with tights and brogues or even boots. We will see..

Huffthepuff · 23/07/2019 20:57

@neveradullmoment99 that dress is gorgeous! Looks really good on you, so pleased you ordered, even if it does end up going back... it would be useful in all seasons.

Jealous of your giant paddling pool @Ellapaella !

The weather in London today was nuts. I'm dreading Thursday... Had a cold bath as soon as I got home 🥵

neveradullmoment99 · 23/07/2019 21:00

I have it all wrapped up but not sealed. Find hush bags bloody annoying. They are so difficult to parcel back up because ethey are so thick.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/07/2019 21:01

Sorry meant to say toast bags!
Thanks everyone for your nice comments regarding the dress!

Ellapaella · 23/07/2019 21:17

Ah Never - the dress is beautiful, I vote to keep. Could be one of those you'll regret it if you send back?
Sorry to hear you have a child's funeral to attend.. so awful. One of my eldest sons friends died of a brain tumour in 2016 - he was only 14. That was the toughest funeral I've ever been to. The church was packed full of amazing kids and teenagers who handled it all so well. So awful when it's a child - sending hugs to you.

On a brighter note re the pool - you are all welcome to come round for a pool party! Gin cocktails all round ☀️🥂😁

neveradullmoment99 · 23/07/2019 22:09

Thanks @Ellapaella. I may just return all of the other dresses and keep it! I will wait to see what Wednesday and Thursdays dresses are like and then return everything I am not keeping on Friday! Its still in the mix.
Oh @ella, that must have been hard for both you and your ds. I cant really go into detail about it but it was cancer and has been completely heart wrenching. I feel so much for the parents and hug my own children even tighter [If that is at all possible!]

neveradullmoment99 · 23/07/2019 22:12

I remember when I was at primary school one of the children got run over by a bus. He was wearing a parka with his hood up :( All the children including me went to his funeral. It was so upsetting and I remember it to this day.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/07/2019 22:14

Anyway, enough said about that. If only coming round to your pool was that easy!! We have a pool but its dusty and filled with spiders cobwebs and is in our hut. Not sure I really fancy digging around to get it!

Laska2Meryls · 24/07/2019 09:02

I wonder if I will get any post today? ... Confused.

dontcallmelen · 24/07/2019 09:07

Laska 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

ilovecherries · 24/07/2019 09:12

Toast delivery is a bit slow! I put my order in on Friday, only got my dispatch notification 10 mins ago. I was hoping it would be here today.

@neveradullmoment99 - thinking of you for tomorrow. Children’s funerals always feel wrong. I sang at one last year as a favour for friends and I don’t think I could do that to myself ever again. I didn’t even know the family. Just too, too sad. I pulled over afterwards and sat in the car and sobbed for a bit before I went home, and had a policewoman knock on my window to see if I was okay. When I told her why I was crying, she was really lovely and understood completely. (*I’m not normally one to cry and didn’t want to freak my own kids out.)

neveradullmoment99 · 24/07/2019 09:40

Im dreading it tbh. I think i may cry and not stop....Thanks for all your supportFlowers
I am hoping your hush parcels come today too @Laska2Meryls
Quite excited to see some of your clothes orders.
What did you order @ilovecherries

Ellapaella · 24/07/2019 09:41

@ilovecherries yes I noticed it said 7 days for dispatch during the sale.
I think I've found my perfect espadrilles- from Crew clothing. Have ordered to see. If they are a good fit that's it for me now this month, I'm no spend for August.

Hushistas keep on keeping on!
GinandGingerBeer · 24/07/2019 09:47

Oh never there are no words are there?
Sending you lots of love and warmest hugs to get through it as best as you can x
Makes me teary thinking about it.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/07/2019 10:39

Threads are all topsy-turvy. Some issue with mumsnet. Seemingly an upgrade. I had to search for this thread by going through each forum as the threads im on is saying im not on any!!! Its all going pear shaped. Some are blaming boris :)

neveradullmoment99 · 24/07/2019 10:40

Thanks @justilou1 Dreading it..:(

dontcallmelen · 24/07/2019 11:26

Never it’s definitely all down to Boris, I have no expletives that would convey how I feel about him & ilk😱

dontcallmelen · 24/07/2019 11:26

Ella they are lovely🤞🏻

Huffthepuff · 24/07/2019 11:48

Lovely shoes @Ellapaella 😍

@Laska2Meryls I can't take the suspense... any sign? Do we think it'll be delivered on a pallet?

neveradullmoment99 · 24/07/2019 12:14

Lovely shoes @Ellapaella. Think they will go with everything - lovely neutral colour and suede too.
Thanks @gin x

ilovecherries · 24/07/2019 12:18

Lovely shoes, ella. Toast is currently following me around the internet, offering me up ever more tempting stuff. I can almost convince myself that I need some of it now we are going to Spain. Must be strong.

On a happy note though, DD asked if we'd mind if she joined us on holiday. Villa is plenty big enough for her, but I was surprised as I thought those days were probably over. She even (shock!) said she'd get her own flight, but I have managed to get her a seat on the same flight as us, and said I will get it for her. She will need to sit on her own as our seats are already booked to ensure I get the leg room I need, but she won't care about that. Something nice to look forward to. Will mean lots of running about though, as dog will need to be taken to my mum's in Inverness, as DD was going to look after her. Softie DH is even more pleased she wants to come than I am, and my dad is delighted to have dog as they dote on each other. Everyone happy!

ilovecherries · 24/07/2019 12:20

Oh, by the way: Toast returns? Can I put different orders into the same parcel to save paying lots of postage? Will their systems cope with that - it always seems to confuse Hush!

OP posts:
NotAnActualSheep · 24/07/2019 12:50

Ah - the "threads I'm on" has come back. Phew. thought i was going potty this morning when Boris had done his stuff and couldn't waste time like I usually do

cherries - how lovely your DD is coming! Thats really something to look forward to. Yes - I've put 2 orders together in a toast parcel and its been fine. They refund orders separately as usual, but it's never been a problem. I was cheeky as I used a free returns label from a "full price" order to return some of that order, and some of a 'sale" order that I should have had to pay for, but there wasn't any hassle. (Agree they take ages to dispatch though).

never -yy, will be thinking of you tomorrow. One of our neighbours' children (not the not-swingers) died a couple of years ago from a brain tumour - he was only 12, but even when ill he had so much energy and enthusiasm. When he became ill he raised loads of money to get a "pre-teen" room for long-stay patients at the hospital (they had a "child" room, and a "teenage cancer trust" room - but nothing for those sort of 7-13 ages). Totally devastating. It was the first time DS had heard me use "unparliamentary language" ("Daddy language" as he calls it...) when I found out. Sad

It is always tricky to decide what to return when there is no way you can keep everything (but want to). I understand your pain...

ella -lovely espadrilles - hope they fit! I'm coming round with the Gin for the pool party Grin . It's really clammy here today. Not nice...

laska - hope your orders come today!
