Hi everyone, haven’t caught up yet with all your purchases but all looking fabulous, had a lovely time weather was gorgeous.
Just sorting washing & cases, will pop back later😍

ilovecherries · 18/07/2019 16:12

Glad you are feeling a bit better today nink

Welcome back @dontcallmelen! 👋👋👋

NotAnActualSheep · 18/07/2019 17:20

Haha - thanks nink and soy ! Yes DH is a v funny guy (which is why I luffs him) but it sometimes wears a bit thin... to be fair, I am similarly rude to him, so I shouldn't complain

Me - enabling???! How could you suggest such a thing?! Halo . I'm just pointing out that they have been reduced further to £40 as a public service announcement . (Which makes me glad I only paid £45 at JL which happened to have the right size - and free delivery rather than toast sale delivery...)

Glad your DH is a fan of the skirt and tee soy Grin. I'm so impressed with your weight loss BTW. Don't be so hard on yourself not being able to lose the last bit! I'm sure there is a weight we're not "meant" to go below, and our bodies just rebel and hold onto it for dear life...

Welcome back len! So glad you had a good time. But the post-holiday wash is the WORST...

SoyYo · 18/07/2019 17:44

Indeed not but if you think I’m still a whole stone heavier than I was in my thirties (and a stone and a half from my twenties) you can see what I’m up against (even if the BMI is within normal range). I’m also quite small boned and 1.64 (around 5’3”) so I really look awful as soon as I put a few pounds on which annoyingly settles on my stomach and boobs (thanks menopause).
Still not bad for a 57 yo battling a severe case of middle age spread...

Here’s a quick snap of skirt and T. The skirt is super stretchy and comfy and I could always add a belt if I lose the pesky 1.5kg I’m battling.

I did think “is it too young?” But then I’d only wear on hols in the summer months and it’s no shorter than shorts, and in the autum/winter with black opaques and boots it’ll make a nice change? Anyway DH liked it and if he really thought I looked stupid I know he’d tell me and brave the dragon fire breath Grin

Excuse the pathetic selfie btw he’s been decorating the hall and our house is full of coats everywhere!

Ellapaella · 18/07/2019 17:54

@SoyYo you look amazing! I love the outfit, not too young at all you look fab. You are looking very slim at the moment.

ilovecherries · 18/07/2019 17:58

You look great, soy. And once again, I have serious leg envy!

OP posts:
SoyYo · 18/07/2019 18:17

Thank you Ella and Cherries that is so kind of you 🙏 I did think can I get away with a mini...in the summer with bare legs and slightly wrinkly knees?? and DH said yes so if he’s okay with that I am too Wink

FuzzyPuffling · 18/07/2019 19:11

Wow everyone is looking so good! I love all the outfits on show..what a beautiful bunch of women (in all aspects) you are.

In other news, I bought a dress. (Obviously, this is not me in it, mine is bigger and has my huge norks stuffed in the top.) I had my eye on it and it came up in the sale and I had a £5 voucher too. Hurrah!

Ellapaella · 18/07/2019 19:27

Lovely dress fuzzy - where's it from?

neveradullmoment99 · 18/07/2019 19:28

You look great in it @soyo and tbh it isnt too short on you. Great buy @fuzzy 😀
Diet for me when i get back. Looking at the holiday photos and feeling so chubby looking so thats it. Back on Saturday and the new me will start on Sunday. Oh i hate photos of me!

Huffthepuff · 18/07/2019 19:33

Haha @NotAnActualSheep I was literally just about to post a message to say THE CULOTTES ARE DOWN TO £40! But I can see that you were all over it 🤣 I have of course just ordered them as I couldn't resist at that price. You look fab in them so I'm doubly pleased that they are on their way. They look gorgeous with the blouse. I love that fabric, I think they had a tiered dress in the same pattern? Beautiful but sold out. Defo keep both items. The culottes really look like a skirt! Are they comfy? Your Waist looks 👌

Huffthepuff · 18/07/2019 19:40

Lovely outfit Soy! I really like the longer length of their 'mini skirts' the pink tee looks lovely with your skin tone too. Perfect holiday outfit for when you're not wafting in your silks 😃

Loving the dungarees with red tee Ella, stylish but practical and really suit your amazing figure

Very much enjoying the mango dress Soups very flattering and great fit on you

Love those earrings Never!

Welcome back Len! We're all relegated to the bench now, someone open the gin

SoyYo · 18/07/2019 19:45

Fuzzy love the dress! Tell us more! Bet you look beautiful yes you do!

And Huff so pleased you’ve got the culottes! Big 🤛 with not I Agree it looks like a gorgeous skirt on and the top print is lovely too.

Never you always look amazing too. It’s just that we’re used to seeing the clothes on tall skinny 20 odd year old models and tbh I hope this thread inspires a lot of people by seeing us real size women, all shapes and pretty average sizes not being afraid to show ourselves... but the best bit to me is the positive vibes, the ❤️ and our shared passion for a bit of clobber to cheer us up. enabling too! Smile

NotAnActualSheep · 18/07/2019 19:47

Oh you look amazing soy!! That's such a good outfit, and not too "young" at all. I'm not sure why we have the view that a short skirt is more risqué than shorts! It really suits you, and yy, you definitely have the legs for it! And I agree, you are looking very slim, even if (like us all!) you are critical of yourself compared with 10 or 20 years ago Grin.

That's such a pretty dress fuzzy! Love the way the stripes are cut. Bet it's v flattering!

never You and me both! I've been trying to stay off the rubbish since I've been back. I did feel v podgy compared to the slim and toned French women while we were away. And so many really stylish people. There was one lady we saw one evening in Nice who must have been 60 or so, with purple/burgundy hair in a pixie cut and big sunglasses, wearing a lovely grey spotted midi dress with a thick belt in a similar shade to her hair, and she looked absolutely amazing. Total style envy. I avoid the photo thing by not allowing photos to be taken... Not a great solution, granted, but effective.

NotAnActualSheep · 18/07/2019 19:54

Yay huff! Excellent! We can be toast twins again. Thanks for the compliments! Yes, I think there was a dress in the shirt fabric too... Its a lovely lightweight cotton, but I think I got a return from JL as its oos now. The culottes are really comfy given its a fixed waistband. Some of the reviews are saying the waist is a bit small, but I think it's pretty true to size (OK, so poss small for toast...). I got a 12 and it's fine. Falls just below my natural waist. And there's no issue with hips, obviously given the volume of the fabric!

FuzzyPuffling · 18/07/2019 20:03

Aw thank you all. The dress is from Culture Vulture. Bit hit and miss with them but I've had several unusual and nice things from them.

One day I will post a picture of me! (I'm just really unconfident about my look)

Ellapaella · 18/07/2019 20:11

I love the Toast culottes too not - they look great on you. Toast is top of my list for knitwear this autumn/winter.

GinandGingerBeer · 18/07/2019 20:13

Soy is making me instantly regret the fact I've just eaten not one but two magnums!
A praline one and a raspberry one. Full size too, no minis in this house. In fact I am addicted to them....
You look fab!!
That mango dress is gorgeous! Lovely print. I bet that stripy dress will be very flattering on @FuzzyPuffling it
I have been on the melatonin (sorry can't remember who asked... brain fog) it's helps but my god the weird dreams!
Local music festival for us this weekend. The forecast ain't good 😫

FuzzyPuffling · 18/07/2019 20:25

gin, surely the plural of Magnum is Magna? :) Jealous though, love a Magnum, almond ones are my favourite.

SoyYo · 18/07/2019 20:40

Thank You you lovely bunch!
Tbh it was hardest the first 2 weeks and then DH joined me so to my 6kg loss he’s done 10kg and is looking very handsome too.
I don’t stick to it rigidly anymore and have had the odd Magnum too so gin in your honour cheers as I have a lovely G&T while posting this Gin

And Len agree with Huff we need you to plump up cushions on the no spend bench!

not the French woman sounds gorgeous and totally inspiring

SoyYo · 18/07/2019 20:43

@Laska2Meryls will be back soon too being even more naughty by sharing her parcel haul Grin
So we’ll live vicariously through her purchases 👌

FuzzyPuffling · 18/07/2019 21:02

I'm back on the no spend bench now too. Perhaps I need to buy a bigger bench first?

Huffthepuff · 18/07/2019 21:08

Gin what are you going to wear to the music festival? I love that kind of thing. Gives us a chance to wear our wardrobes 😃

Ella good plan for the Toast knitwear. They are a great investment given the quality. My general feeling with Toast is that you have to play the long game. I go through their full price items on the website and share a link to the pieces I love to my iPhone notes (or you could use the Toast wish list or John Lewis) sign up to their e-bulletins and when you get notification of the sale, swoop in and check the price of your favourites. Some things hang around for a while but others go quickly. Particularly in size 10/12. Not the culottes tho apparently!

Huffthepuff · 18/07/2019 21:12

My Zara package has arrived. Both nice but I don't think I'll be keeping either. They are lovely but neither as good quality or as special as the 100 stars kimono. Will take pics in the light tomorrow to show you
