Anyone else an Autumn in their colour analysis?

happytobemrsg · 20/06/2019 14:59

I received my colour analysis today & while I haven’t read it properly yet I saw that I’m an autumn!

I must be seriously late to the colour analysis game because all the Mumsnet autumn threads are super old 🙈 so hoping we can start a new one!

Would love to hear tips from fellow Autumns!

@PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair where is the mustardy top from please?

I've been dying for some of my friends to get their colours done but none of the buggers have.

eBay is great for looking for things. I've bought a load of hair bands from there recently & a cheap summer dress.

I know tons of tomato red lipsticks. For neutral/brown I love pure natural sinner from lipstick queen & fever by Balmain/L'Oréal

buckeejit · 30/06/2019 19:24

This lot all good

And these. There's also a nice headband in H&M that is a sort of soft rusty colour

Am thoroughly enjoying seeing people's purchases. Am a leaf autumn, so chocolate, mustard, lime, peacock and some of the more vivid colours suit me best. HoC was one of the best bits of money I have spent.

My purchase today is attached - vintage, 19 50s and something I have been lusting after for just under a year! Have too many clothes already though, so will need to sell something as am on a one-in, one-out policy.

Btw, OP, ignore posters on other thread saying tortoiseshell is over: I love it and have done for years. Also, I bought a Hobbs bag very similar to yours a few years ago and have got loads of wear out of it!

@Sigh81 that is gorgeous. Have you done the style element? I thought this was as good. I'm a natural romantic.

My best colours are dark brown, tans, cream & red. Love being able to wear red lipstick!

Whyknot · 30/06/2019 21:15

Lots of lovely things! I got this dress today, it's got black on it but predominantly green.

Ah thank you @Sigh81. That thread was savage! Not sure why my boots got brought into it 😂Tortoiseshell really suits me so I’m going to embrace it! It’s hardly going to be my everyday bag, it’s just a bit of fun 😋

Lovely dresses @Sigh81 & @Whyknot. I’ll try & take a selfie in my new khaki dress at some point - I love it 🥰

Ok I lied! While I’ve been avoiding new purchases in black, I did buy these beautiful grey-ish hair clips. They were just too pretty... wearing them today with yellow gold jewellery

I succumb to the odd non-Autumn purchase too, OP. For instance, I will never not love black and ivory together. So bought myself a beautiful Jigsaw coat recently in those colours.

And @buckeejit, not done the style one. Am I right in thinking they do body shape analysis too?

happytobemrsg · 01/07/2019 20:28

Forest green maternity dress from H&M (please ignore the whiter than white legs). I’ll be keeping this one I think

@Sigh81 House of Colour certainly do style and body shape analysis. I found that as, if not even more, useful than the colours!

buckeejit · 02/07/2019 22:11

Yes the style encompasses a lot of aspects. It was quite emotional for me! Confused

Potatopia · 03/07/2019 11:40

That dress looks lovely on you @happytobemrsg!

happytobemrsg · 03/07/2019 14:29

Ah thank you @Potatopia! I’m hoping to wear it to work tomorrow

My tribe!!

I had my HOC done a few years ago. Love it!!

It's makes shopping sooo much easier.....I can scan the floor for colours before I even look at the item and style. And it means that most stuff goes together.

I won't even look at exercise gear that's not in my colours. If I'm going to look shit, red, hot and sweaty the i want to do it in "kingfisher" or teal Grin

SegregateMumBev · 05/07/2019 11:07

Any suggestions re eye make-up?

SegregateMumBev · 05/07/2019 14:21

Right, had a bit of a play in Boots and am now wearing:

Benefit Hello Happy foundation and powder
Gimme Brow in 3
Hoola Lite blusher

Bourjois satin eye shadow in Oh de roses
Maybelline total temptation mascara in Deep Cocoa
Max factor lippy in Rosewood

I LOVE the mascara - it's so hard to get a non-black. The lipstick is a good shade also.

(I'm going to refrain from commenting on the service in Boots, though)

happytobemrsg · 05/07/2019 18:22

I have green eyes @SegregateMumBev so I tend to wear lots of plums near my eyes - eyeliner, mascara etc. It’s always made my eyes pop.

Wearing my colours today with a lovely khaki maternity dress from H&M. So bloody hot though.

Ooooh, went to a drinkies do this evening, and immediately was met with "you look great!" comments.

Clothes were teal skinnies, navy silk top, blue/ gold statement necklace, rose gold earrings, navy flats and bag, cream and navy cotton scarf.

PoshNorthEssex · 06/07/2019 10:01

I love this Stila for eyes

happytobemrsg · 06/07/2019 10:25

See this is why I love MN @PoshNorthEssex I’ve not heard of this make up before! Do you wear it daily or is it more for “going out”? I have very green eyes - plums look great as eyeliner. Is there a colour your recommend for everyday? Thanks so much!

OP posts:
PoshNorthEssex · 06/07/2019 11:28

@happytobemrsg Smile I hadn't heard of them either (am generally pretty useless with make up) but I was on the look out for a sparkly eyeliner and found them in Selfridges. I wear that starlight day or evening, usually just as a liner but sometimes on the lid. I also found this Mac mascara at the same time.

PoshNorthEssex · 06/07/2019 12:02

I also have the same Stila liquid shadow in smoky quartz which is a lovely soft brown, although can't see it on the site...
