Mmmm Hmm on Minoxidil, thanks for the warning. Yes feel lots better for the weight loss and I’m upping my Pilates classes this month to twice a week Shock so I firm up the flab ready for my next hols in August 👍 Its so much easier when it’s warm and the sun is shining (I’ve got strong hibernating tendencies in winter and eat far too many carbs to console myself with).

Ellapaella · 03/07/2019 16:03

From a cardiac nurses perspective Soyo I'd say be careful with oral minoxidil. I've seen a couple of patients who have been buying off prescription on the internet, using it in an unregulated way and it's not good. Lots of problems with palpitations. Have you had it prescribed?

justilou1 · 03/07/2019 16:19

I have topical, and am contemplating asking to try the oral stuff - but don’t want to look like a yeti. Also concerned that my BP is on the lower side of normal so probably not a contender anyway!

GinandGingerBeer · 03/07/2019 16:28

@SoyYo you are looking fab! Definitely tell you've lost weight. Well done 👍🏻
I love the slogan T, looks great, the leopard print colour combo is lovely as is the WC black top.
@len are you on FB?
I'd join an 'I love menorca' type group and ask them. You'll always find people who go year after year and can recommend locals.
If you're not on FB, are one of your party?

SoyYo · 03/07/2019 16:55

Thank you again for noticing my flab fight win 🙏
ella no I was thinking of Regaine, which is topical 5% minoxidil and available from Boots. Wouldn’t dream of self medicating without a GP so was assuming if available over the counter it was safe (but now put off at the prospect of growing body hair!).
I’m totally anti medication tbh and the reason I suffered with night sweats for 10+ years rather than go on HRT (and had a Male not very encouraging GP at the time too).
Anyway I possibly take an ibuprofen once every 3 months because I’m chicken (and lucky not to have any med conditions to warrant medication, too late for HRT now in any case).

GinandGingerBeer · 03/07/2019 18:06

@len the MN money savers email has s code for 21% off with a company called Holiday Taxis. Thought it might be worth a look?

Same email is also offering (only one style unfortunately) a 100 stars kimono @ £19. Reduced from £39.

dontcallmelen · 03/07/2019 18:13

Cheers Gin dd is on Facebook so will get to have a look, will also check out holiday Taxi😘

SoyYo · 03/07/2019 19:09

Sorry got distracted by work...I misunderstood your message len and was coming in here to say you can get an online quote from holiday taxis www.holidaytaxis.com/en/transfers/spain-balearic-islands/menorca-mahon-airport/?&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI14Wjg6yZ4wIVzrftCh2yog81EAAYASAAEgLRevD_BwE
So it immediately gives you a quote if you enter your dates/hotel and number of passengers 👍

dontcallmelen · 03/07/2019 19:21

Thanks Soy I reread my post & it wasn’t very clear, I only realised today that we are off next Thursday I thought it was the week after😳

SoyYo · 03/07/2019 19:32

No probs. I’d say if you’re staying in a hotel also worth contacting them directly too for their recommendation (they may have a contract bus service running to/from airport at regular intervals. A lot of them do 👍)

twosoups1972 · 03/07/2019 21:11

@ilovecherries that’s a shame about the Moritz and jacket.

@SoyYo you look great in your new tops and well done on the weight loss. Looking fantastic! Thanks for asking about dd’s hair. We haven’t had the cut yet! This hairdresser only works Fridays so I’ve booked it for the end of July after dd breaks up from school. Poor dd absolutely hates her hair at the moment. Think she might be close to giving up on CG and asking to have it straightened Sad I’m hoping the cut will help.

twosoups1972 · 03/07/2019 21:14

Oh and I’m pleased to report we have booked a short break to Stockholm in late July. Only 3 nights (4 days) but it will be nice and we’ll have a longer holiday in August. It all had to be arranged around dd’s dance rehearsals and her curly girl haircut which we booked months in advance! I know it sounds like madness but it’s important to her.

whiskyremorse · 03/07/2019 21:40

I am feeling the curly girl pain. I was booked in to see Vicky Queen of Curls but she was ill and cancelled. Her next appointment is October 😱 so I'm not sure what to do apart from wait for a cancellation.
And buy a hat. But I don't suit hats lol
I am going grey/white at the edges and in my parting and am letting it come through at the moment to see what happens. I have a box of dye on standby in case lol

SoyYo · 03/07/2019 23:05

Thank You soups! And what a great break you’ve booked Smile Have never been to Sweden so it’ll be nice to hear your impressions.

On CG yes you know people go “oh I wish I had curls” Hmm they don’t know how crazy it is when it’s misbehaving but tbh I’d rather stick with the method because the alternative is using straighteners every single day and ending up with a birds nest at the end of it anyway...Angry
whisky I feel your pain!
Have a look at this blog it has a map of CG hairdressers, maybe you can find an alternative fairly close to you? My fave CG hairdresser is booked till November! Shock
So I found an alternative lady on this blog (there’s a map link in it) who was able to fit me on a months’ notice
www.curllove.co.uk/curlblog/18/4/2019/curl-by-what

whiskyremorse · 04/07/2019 07:21

@soy thanks for that, hopefully someone else I can use. I'm also expecting a delivery of Boucleme products so hope they suit my hair.

Binkybix · 04/07/2019 07:30

That map is great! Been trying to find an alternative hairdresser, but curly ones are so booked up they often don’t even take on new clients! I’m booked in with the curly way next Friday.

SoyYo · 04/07/2019 08:07

Glad to help fellow curlies. Good luck with the curly chop binky.
As this thread is not about CG I’ll stop now but just to say whisky I’ve been using boucleme for a few years now and really love their products, specially the gel and curl cream. Also they smell fantastic!

Have a lovely Thursday all.

ilovecherries · 04/07/2019 09:45

Soups ooh Stockholm break sounds fabulous & do hope dd manages to hang on until her appointment with curly girl hairdresser, sure she will be much happier once an expert cuts it.
Yy people not realising how difficult it can be managing curly hair & finding a hairdresser that knows how to manage curly hair.
Beautiful day here in London, have a good day everyone.

dontcallmelen · 04/07/2019 09:52

Cherries oooh you look fabulous, love the scandi vibe 😍

Laska2Meryls · 04/07/2019 10:07

I'm now thinking that I chose the wrong career! Curly girl hairdresser sounds like it would have been a good choice ( says the poker-straight haired person
I'm missing getting parcels to post photos of so here is last night's sunset ..
