Thanks, soups. I wore the black Kensington. In fact, it was so hot dress codes went out the window, so I needn’t have worried, I was fine.

GinandGingerBeer · 02/07/2019 21:10

@SoyYo there's one self tanning bg towel in it, an oil free moisturiser sample and!! A tan removal towelette Grin made for you!
The clarins stuff is nice colour wise, it looks like mud so don't be put off! but for me, it sat in my pores so I didn't re purchase.
What I can thoroughly recommend are the Isle of Paradise tanning drops. You mix them with your own moisturiser (or facial oil, I use a clarins one at night and bung a few drops in my hand with it) so you control the tan rather than it controlling you!
You can mix with body lotion too for the body.
I use 3 drops on my face and a good 6 on the body.
No wafting around waiting for it to dry as long as whatever your moisturiser is, just sink's in well.

GinandGingerBeer · 02/07/2019 21:11

bg = FB for fake bake. Doh!

SoyYo · 02/07/2019 21:24

Thanks gin I also have self tanning drops Blush bought on impulse as they were vastly reduced in duty free on one of my work trips last year, the kind you mean to mix with moisturiser. And then I chickened out so it’s unopened... I’m naturally light olive skinned and tan easily but really trying to be good this year with sun exposure so I’m really winter shade (for me) and I’m longing for a bit of a tan.
I’ll try it! They’re also Clarins Radiance plus golden glow booster.

I throughly approve of your Hush choices btw Wink

neveradullmoment99 · 02/07/2019 21:57

Is so hard to decide hairwise @soyo. Your curls are beautiful. I am getting my hair done on Thursday. No idea what to do with it tbh but I am so fed up of wearing it up all the time as it has no shape atm.

SoyYo · 02/07/2019 22:06

Yes I’m deffo having colour this time and need a good cut too! (Thank you too for the nice comment).

Right off to bed shortly, look Fw to your news tomorrow

dontcallmelen · 03/07/2019 10:37

Ooh Ella what brilliant freebies Gin yy the tanning drops my dd uses those & says the same, lol at the list I liked quite a few bits as well & mentally spent ££
Soy curls are soo pretty.
never I was the same & just kept putting my hair up in a clip as I didn’t know what to do with it, I had a fair bit chopped off mine sort of a longish Bob with layers through it & looks ok now when I leave it down.

ilovecherries · 03/07/2019 11:01

Well, that was all a bit meh. Wren jacket - FAR too big for me. Coupled with its unstructuredness it totally swamped me. Then - even worse - the longed-for white Moritz. The rise is about an inch shorter than the blue, the legs are about an inch and a half narrower, and they are two inches shorter. Not perfect after all, so back they go. Clearly I need to be more specific in my cosmic ordering. Even the denim wasn’t as soft as the blue ones.

neveradullmoment99 · 03/07/2019 11:17

@dontcallmelen - that's what my plan is. A kind of shoulder length 'bob' or a lob!!! Think that's the name for it. I will hunt for pictures. Don't want too much off the length.
@cherries pity about the moritz. They kind of look a bit different to the denim ones on the website although I couldn't put my finger on it. They looked baggy on the crotch in the model shots.
Well I haven't ordered anything. A bit tempted by the starry wide leg. Anyway, spent enough for now [ Two pairs of novesta trainers and the linen dress recently was very expensive] so nothing for me!

SoyYo · 03/07/2019 11:32

Oh shame about the Moritz white trousers cherries and the Wren (but yes if you went for the 12 it would totally swamp you). At least now you know (and bank balance better off)

Yes len a good haircut makes a huge difference. Can’t wait to get mine chopped, last cut was in March but these curly hairdressers are so far booked in advance tbh was lucky to get a slot in July but she’s never cut my curls so Hope she’s good 🤞

never I came across going grey blog from midlife chic so we’re obviously with the zeitgeist and I don’t think I’m 40% grey yet but I like the idea of asking hairdresser to leave a couple of strands by my face without colour to show a grey “stripe”
www.midlifechic.com/going-grey-gracefully-how-to-approach-it/

dontcallmelen · 03/07/2019 11:42

cherriesdefinitely need more specific cosmic ordering clearly the universe wasn’t listening properly😂 so annoying though when they change details etc yet still call them the same name, hope ddog is continuing to improve & enjoying the peas.
never yes that’s it a lob, I couldn’t think of the name Yy get some pictures always helps a bit.
Soy sure she will be great, my cousin does the same with the grey leave a few strands around her face always looks lovely.

SoyYo · 03/07/2019 11:53

Which reminds me soups how did it go with DD’s curly haircut?

neveradullmoment99 · 03/07/2019 12:12

Thanks for that @soyo. Good article to read. I dyed my hair the other day but I think I am going to go for it. I think I will go to the hairdressers though and make a concerted effort to do it gradually so I don't look like shit while I am going through the process.

dontcallmelen · 03/07/2019 12:20

Cherries if it’s any consolation the wren, looked dreadful on me as well just looked really odd & really unflattering.

SoyYo · 03/07/2019 12:31

Yes never I think the same. Do it gradually with lowlights/highlights I’ll find out what hairdresser recommends and report back. I want ammonia free colour too though that may well be too much to ask...but basically I don’t want “block” colour but something that allows gradual transition till I’m grey enough to stop doing it. It’s harder when you’re a brunette a think and not grey enough.

Right no pics in the thread today so just took a couple of snaps of my recent sale buys to keep you entertained Grin, with jeans I’m wearing today so no styling.
WC Black broderie top which would look better with my white jeans.
Hush leopard linen T and the “sparkly totally unnecessary” good times ahead which I’m keeping anyway Wink
Not showing the green/turquoise v neck one as you already know what they look/fit like but suffice to say it’s a really nice colour and fits like all my other Hush cotton slub T’s
Could have sized down to S but I think M is a good slouchy fit that fairly successfully hides love handles Wink

len, I’m actually quite taken with the concept of an item of clothing swamping me 😂. Not an issue I was ever familiar with in the past!

Laska2Meryls · 03/07/2019 13:00

That's so fab cherries😊 ( wish I could say the same, but ah well, ) shame about the white Moritz, I have never dared to but white trousers, am far too mucky !!

I wore the jolly green vest top and Santana last night and felt great in it as a faux dress. I have also worn the Toast dress ,top and checked skirt since being here, really glad I brought them. Otherwise, last year s Hush maxis have had outings, just what is needed, we are back to 34 Deg here today ( I am under totally shaded balcony right now). Looking at it, there's loads not yet in the sale so I think they will add more orhave another late summer sale ..

soy you are looking very svelte also! You can see that you have lost weight ..

SoyYo · 03/07/2019 13:06

Waves at Laska I’m so jealous of your hols wafting about in the midday shade by the Med...glad you’re enjoying wearing your recent fab purchases.
And thank you on the “svelte” 🤗I’ve lost 6 kg only 2kg to go...

dontcallmelen · 03/07/2019 13:09

Ooh Soy all really lovely😍
Cherries we can be swamped together 😂
Laska hope you are having a great time & feeling a bit more relaxed all the outfits sound just great for the heat.
I bought a couple of cotton vest from peacocks, I’m really pleased with them the quality is really good & were about four pounds they also have 20% off at the moment so a great bargain.
Random question has anyone used something like shuttledirect for pick ups at airports/transfer to hotel & return journey as looking to sort out transfers for Menorca as will be five of us & the taxis are only licensed for four so need a mini bus type thing preferably rather than two taxis ta.

dontcallmelen · 03/07/2019 13:11

Yy with Laska, I thought you looked different Soy couldn’t place what it was, well done you👍🏼

justilou1 · 03/07/2019 14:13

Well done on the weight loss, @SoyYo! Must be all the summer living! I quite like the tricolour hair! They’re pretty colours! Your grey is lovely and soft. When I go grey, it will go a sicky yellow beige colour, so at least you have that working for you!!!
I do NOT get on with topical minoxidil (itchy, irritating stuff that makes hair look filthy - WHY does anyone think that’s a real option?)

SoyYo · 03/07/2019 14:17

Thank you too len it’s a stone off which doesn’t sound that much but back to my usual summer weight now (I put it on over the winter), and all my clothes fit fine/better.

Sorry can’t help on the taxi question but if you’re staying at hotel near airport night before worth checking with hotel as they tend to run buses to terminal and may be much cheaper than a dedicated cab?

SoyYo · 03/07/2019 14:22

Thanks too justi on the tricolour look 🤣
Is the minodoxil for your scalp treatment/to encourage hair growth? I’m thinking of trying it as I’m going a bit thin on top too (thank you menopause Angry)

ilovecherries · 03/07/2019 14:33

Minoxidil is the devils work, soy. Apart from being disgusting on your head, it also gave me a hairy face AND any regrowth it actually promotes tends to be of poor quality. Plus it falls out the minute you stop using it - its a for life treatment. And yes, you are looking very svelte :)
