Sounds lovely @cherries you will look fab. I thought of you the other week - there was an article about summer dresses in the T2 in The Times. Saying that summer dresses work for any occasion these days and even at formal events, very dressy dresses are going out of fashion.

Laska2Meryls · 24/06/2019 21:39

Has anyone else lost their Hush Friends delivery?
I just went to order the leopard linen tank thinking I could get it before holiday ( .. even though its not in the sale ,but probably will be .. ) and my Hush Friends option has gone... so that's it then, They lost an order .. as cant get it before holiday (unless I pay the £12!! Shock

ella
I don’t buy the sleeved dress though v v tempted ( slightly regretting not!)
I was in store so don’t know re returns etc
I have a feeling that it came up slightly bigger than the short sleeve one. So even though I am never a 16, that’s what I had to get in the short sleeve but a 14 was fine in this one. Which is a 40 in there. A 14 is usually my ‘top’ end of my sizing but it’s the bust!
I would say a 38 would more than fit you and could possibly do smaller. Not much help I know!!!
Colour. Hmmm. I had thought it was black to be honest, certainly didn’t come across as navy though maybe if I had looked carefully!
Love that check skirt laska think it’s very Vivienne Westwood!
If I’m brave I will post a pic of green dress tomorrow so can have more ideas of sizing in there.

dontcallmelen · 24/06/2019 21:43

Ella I reckon orange looks fab with navy, I usually wear orange sandals with a navy dress I have.

Laska2Meryls · 24/06/2019 21:55

.. has saved me £39 though... Smile

neveradullmoment99 · 24/06/2019 22:00

@Laska, yes me too. They normally do that during sales though. Clearly they cant cope with it.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/06/2019 22:01

They should have an inbetween price. I mean I would probably pay £6 or so but not £12 for a service that I had for nothing.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/06/2019 22:03

Its crazy too because you end up paying for postage that was originally free and you have to wait longer??? Not really being loyal to their customers they deserve to lose money over it.

Ellapaella · 24/06/2019 22:10

Thanks @Dinkydoos - I'm not ordering it as I've just read trust pilot reviews and Arket do not have a good track record for their online service! It's rather shocking in fact! Shame because I would love to try that dress.

ilovecherries · 24/06/2019 22:57

goodluck, you look lovely in that jacket.

laska, cool skirt. It’s really nice.

Laska2Meryls · 25/06/2019 09:31

I have ordered the toast linen tank in blue also today, , to go with skirt hopefully, they are sending it express ( even though they don't usually offer it over here..can't think why we get next day for everything else) so fingers crossed ( theyonly charged me 5.95 for express also ) Smile

Hi Hushista Sisters! As promised, I’m letting you know that my moles were ok. One had dysplastic changes but clear edges, and they got it all so I’m very glad it’s gone! Phew!!! Scalp biopsies showed telogen effluvium rather than androgenetic alopecia. It’s usually diet or stress-related. My blood work showed that I am low in iron (recurring coeliac theme) and may need some infusions, but I’m more than thrilled to report that all the serious things are ruled out!!!!
Meanwhile, LOVE the check skirt, Laska!!! It’s so cool!!! Very versatile, too!!!
I’m thinking it’s high time I get into some shopping again!

twosoups1972 · 25/06/2019 10:50

Hi @just that's good news, what a relief for you. Health can be worrying sometimes.

@Laska2Meryls agree about the check skirt - looks great on you.

I have bought a couple of dresses from &Stories and also the dress from Arket linked above (green and blue). I'm being strict with myself and only keeping things that I love and that work with my shape. Too high a neck = boobs look enormous. I need a v or scoop neck or at least a lower crew neck.

I've ordered some jeans from Mint Velvet too. It's very muggy here, looks like it will pour down any minute.

GinandGingerBeer · 25/06/2019 10:57

Morning all!
@goodluckandgodspeed love that jacket! Where's it from? I am having a thoroughly weird time with my T1, I'm sure you'll empathise re the frankly batshit way our bodies as women work hormone wise. My basal rate refuses to play ball. 30% reduction one week, needing 40% increase this week and still averaging a double figure reading 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️. I've started HRT and I think it's making me resistant. Will do some research....

Anyway! Looking forward to seeing your Scandi haul @ilovecherries
Loving the toast haul laska
Great news @justilou1 what a relief!
I've placed another Oliver bonas order... an A/W jumper dress for £19. Also bought the most beautiful earrings in there when I collected my order. Will link below after I've made a brew.

dontcallmelen · 25/06/2019 11:13

Just so glad you have had such good news🍾
Gin oh dear that sounds really difficult for you, yy research I always forget about Oliver Bonas look forward to seeing your haul.
I have succumbed a little to the sales, got the blue s/s sweat top & rainbow T-shirt from Hush & a T-shirt dress & khaki shorts from Boden, couple of linen tops from whitestuff😳 but.. if not perfect it will go back also mentally spent about six hundred quid in Reiss, oh my such pretty dresses but have resisted pressing the button.

GinandGingerBeer · 25/06/2019 11:15

Can't link the dress but here's a pic from my order...
Here are the earrings. https://www.oliverbonas.com/jewellery/birdie-rhinestone-multi-chain-front-to-back-earrings-243924. The chain hangs off the back butterfly, they're lovely irl. Oh and yes @Ellapaella their sunglasses are gorgeous. Every time I go in I zone in on them. Hopefully they'll go in the sale as a lovely pair for next year (and low autumn sun which completely blinds you when driving Grin)

Not sure if pic has attached.....

ilovecherries · 25/06/2019 11:30

Glad to hear your good news just

Vet has just relieved me if £100 for a sick doggie. However, he’s cancelled her teeth which were booked for tomorrow, so I guess that’s £250 I won’t have to pay this monthHmm. Plus knackered as have been up with dog since 3am, it’s like early parenthood all over again.

NotAnActualSheep · 25/06/2019 13:01

ooof cherries - pets are expensive. And stressful. Poor you (and poor DDog). Sorry to hear about your JL experience. I often find the glasgow one is ridiculously hot for some reason - but sounds as if the clientele were being CFs there too. Not what one expects in JL dahling... But Cos, you say...I didn't realise there was one in glasgow. Will have to pay a visit next time I'm through (there is a tiny concession in Harvey Nichols in Edinburgh but i can't face going in there as all the staff are 20 and gorgeous and look at me like they've got something on their shoe... Maybe I'm projecting slightly, but I never feel at all comfortable in there).

justi - I'm so glad to hear your moles have been cleared. And also it sounds as if they are a bit closer to the root of the hair loss (if you'll pardon the pun) which is promising. I've heard that too about "raw" honey being good for hayfever, and it kind of logically makes sense in my brain. I may try it just to ensure I keep warding off any symptoms... (purely medicinal you understand..).

laska - lol - if you don't qualify for a hush meet I'm not sure who does! Absolutely gorgeous skirt though, as others have said. I was tempted by the linen top too, but have resisted, on the grounds I am drowning in stripey tops. I have been quite impressed by toast customer services too - sounds like you'll get the second top by your holiday after all.

soy - hope your trip is going well - Villanelle would deffo approve of your suitcase... (just seen the episode where she ordered stuff on "expenses" to her hotel room - and i did think of us all on this thread doing that Grin ).

Some lovely clothes linked! goodluck - that military jacket looks great on you! And gin - lovely earrings! Every now and again i wish I had my ears pierced - and then come to my senses and realise that I don't need anything else to spend money on - but they are beautiful. And at least you were easily able to send the skirts back, so they were basically "free". no, that is bad logic, but you know what i mean
miffy - love those zara tops too - though I have to say, in the first (black floral) one - WTAF is the model wearing on her legs???! Some kind of bin bag trouser? Or are they boots? Some weird stuff going on there....

len - yy I agree on Reiss - but soooo ££££ . And your other orders sound very useful, so as long as you stick to your mantra I don't think you'll regret it!

I did go for the M&S beauty box in the end on huff's recommendation (going to collect tomorrow probably) and thought I would try this dress as the qualifying spend (though will have a look round too while I'm there and may try something else instead as there were a few others that were just under the £40 that thought might be better). Thought it channelled the tea-towel dress hush has at the moment quite nicely. And it has occurred to me that our holiday is fast approaching (aaaaarrrrgh) and it is going to be flipping hot in France in July (never mind their current heat wave...) - not sure why I have only just thought of that. So I wanted maximum waft, which I think that will provide.

From the toast order, I think I actually prefer the linen dress to the lydia (which i already have several of, as mentioned) - and i deffo don't need 2 plain blue sundresses. I will also send back the lovely striped shirt Sad It is very soft and good quality, but I'm not sure i would get much use out of the style -especially as i seem to have moved away from skinny jeans to looser ones, and am always a bit unsure about tunics/ leggings on me. However, deffo no Halo as I am keeping this which was ordered on a bit of a whim - but is so pretty and lightweight and will go with shedloads of stuff i have. Blush .

NotAnActualSheep · 25/06/2019 13:11

Still recovering from a school trip yesterday. We were really late getting back, as Edinburgh had flash floods and the traffic was absolutely atrocious. And all the kids on the coach were tired and hungry (although having been on a constant drip feed of snacks, as far as i could tell) and so, so LOUD. Really, ear-splittingly loud. I have no idea how teachers manage it regularly! Somehow I managed to end up sitting right at the back of this hell bus with the loudest of the loud and was texting DH with my drink order from 15 minutes in. DS had totally zoned out and was staring out of the window for the 2 hours not saying a word, though apparently perfectly happy... cunning trick if you ask me.

twosoups1972 · 25/06/2019 14:16

Sorry to hear about your dog @ilovecherries what a worry. You must be exhausted with broken sleep. I wish her well. I would love to have a dog but we are divided as a family. Dd3 would love one (and I know it would help her with the autism/anxiety), dd1 is keen as am I....dh might be talked round. But dd2 is totally set against it. And our cat wouldn't be too keen either Grin

It's dd1's leavers ball on Saturday to which parents are also invited. I've got a few things I could possibly wear but have just ordered this in the sale from Phase Eight:

www.phase-eight.com/product/leilani-spot-tulle-dress-205099994.html

I tried it on in JL this morning - they only had an 8 in stock but I got an idea. Think the v-neck is good on me. I've ordered a 12 which is my usual size which should fit.

justilou1 · 25/06/2019 16:13

Oh no! I hope your doggie is better, @ilovecherries! What was wrong???
@GinandGingerBeer- sounds like a very strong reaction to hormones!!! (Evil bastard things!) Have you got Hashimoto’s? Have you been fighting a virus? I hope you get onto this ASAP!

Ellapaella · 25/06/2019 17:31

Oh no poor doggy cherries - wishing a speedy recovery Thanks

I popped by the metro centre today on my way home from work, was just picking up some school uniforms from M&S but walked past Superdry, was attracted by the surprisingly lovely t shirts in the window so went in... came out £160 lighter 🤭😱
I'd mostly thought of it as a teenage/young 20's shop but actually picked up these lovely tops and a nice pale grey cardigan and some charcoal grey skinny jeans. Quite pleased with it all. Now have to sell some stuff on eBay to justify my unexpected splurge!

A few hours on IV fluids and antibiotics, and doggie tramadol has cheered her right up, so DDog is now home on oral antibiotics. She has always been prone to sebaceous cysts and I noticed what I thought was another one coming up yesterday morning, but by midnight it was clear it was an abscess, which grew to the size of a golf ball in a few hours. Vet scanned it and says there is a big channel of infection behind it, but because she’s getting on, he wanted to try conservative treatment first rather than excise it. She has to go back tomorrow and is currently sitting on my lap wearing a baby vest and bravely nibbling poached chicken and boiled rice from my hand 🙄

Ellapaella · 25/06/2019 17:56

@GinandGingerBeer just read your update.. that all sounds very confusing! I hope you feel better soon, looking forward to seeing your haul.

Ellapaella · 25/06/2019 17:57

@ilovecherries one of the girls I was away with this weekend happened to tell me her dog is prone to those cysts. She has found an excellent way of dealing with it - I'm sure it was something to do with soaking in Epsom salts but I'll text her and let you know.
