I even ended up being referred to see a cardiologist I felt so crap. He was lovely, did loads of tests, then told me my heart was in excellent condition, and was just responding to the amount of cortisol I was pumping out all the time. Reassuring but also mortifying that the NGS spent so much on me for no reason.

SoyYo · 21/06/2019 20:55

Sorry I’m late reading you...

First red skirt. What a shame you didn’t like gin, but I guess I’m an inverted triangle and have really narrow hips maybe that’s why it looked okay on me? I think it’ll suit you soups were a similar shape.

I’m sorry to read about the anxiety...it’s not something I suffer from often other than when I think I’m going to miss a plane or travel connection like when I arrive in Eurostar at St Pancras and literally have 10 minutes to make it out across to Kings Cross and the train Home and if that happens it’s truly awful so I can relate.
Menopause has mainly made me grumpy and less able to suffer fools gladly Wink

And my sincere apologies for “disabling” dear laska and not I was trying to be 😇 on your behalf but hey life is too short and I was being little miss sensible. Glad you ignored me! Grin

NotAnActualSheep · 21/06/2019 21:07

Oh soups - sorry to hear you're struggling Flowers. Hope DD is home now safe and sound. yy, as others have said, I think anxiety does seem to be linked to perimenopause. That and the oft cited "impending sense of doom". Joy...

I have always been very laid back but have found in the past couple of years I get anxious about all sorts of random stuff. Travel mostly...I used to rock up to places with a map (or a smartphone) and be absolutely fine. Now I worry about everything about even small trips (timings/ what to take/ whether there will be toilets/ whether the train will have luggage space...). Why, hormones? Why have you decided that it is suddenly really important that we are anxious about everything - when surely the time to give us that would be when we were capable of popping out babies and needed to protect them from sabre toothed tigers (or poorly stocked train buffets) or whatnot??!?

gin - bother. Sorry to hear the skirt isn't good on you. But good for your wallet presumably...

cherries your DD sounds amazing! I love that she knows what you will suit and goes and orders it for you Grin . So glad you've had a lovely time - am jealous of the dolphins. But the more I hear about your health, the more I am impressed with how resilient you have been! Go you! And don't you DARE feel guilty! stern voice Grin

nink - know how you feel...we've had a peculiar day. Lovely and sunny this morning, tipped it down as soon as I went to collect DS from school, and grey, overcast and showery this afternoon. Nice now though - but I'm shattered and have taken my shoes off..

Ninkaninus · 21/06/2019 21:10

Oh duh said cherries when I meant to say soups 🙄🙄

In any case, anxiety/phobias is no laughing matter and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

💐 to all!

Huffthepuff · 21/06/2019 21:37

Hello all. So much to say, so much to catch up on! Agree with Ella re. the red skirt. I'm getting proper FOMO. It's fantastic on you Soy! So pleased you ordered it, and beautifully styled with the denim jacket 😍

Love the shirts Never, eBay Toast and new Toast. They really suit you.
Also Laska the dhuggie sp. is gorgeous and perfect for your holiday.

Sorry to hear about your anxieties re. DD's return journey Soups. I used to work with someone who had a vomiting phobia and it's really tough. I hope all is well. Apologies if I've misunderstood.

Been beautifully warm and sunny here and looks good for the weekend. I'm at a bbq tomorrow so outfit options: Hush maxi skirt with black vest (skirt maybe too long for toddler chasing), Monsoon jumpsuit (haven't washed it since last weekend) or casual jeans and Portobello top with gold saltwaters (possibly hugely unflattering element of shortish top with low slung jeans/ toddler wrangling) hmmmm...

Huffthepuff · 21/06/2019 21:50

Also, I want these https://www.toa.st/uk/product/c4lam/cotton+twill+pleat+front+culottes.htm?clr=c4lammaple&gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzYyVtLn74gIVCud3Ch2xYwGBEAQYASABEgLFzfDD_BwE
Talk me down? I'm teetering on the edge of the no spend bench and Len has deserted me 😫

neveradullmoment99 · 21/06/2019 21:59

Ok @huff. ~Do you need them?

neveradullmoment99 · 21/06/2019 22:00

Would you wear them? they do actually look rather nice though

neveradullmoment99 · 21/06/2019 22:01

would the waist add bulk?

neveradullmoment99 · 21/06/2019 22:02

You would need to iron them quite a bit hate ironing anything

neveradullmoment99 · 21/06/2019 22:04

Would you wear them that much to justify £70
What would they go with? - well on that note probably everything cause they are neutral.

neveradullmoment99 · 21/06/2019 22:10

So Autumn winter....
I wonder what the new collection will be like? Its been stars and diamonds and pineapples at one point. I wonder what the theme will be?

whiskyremorse · 21/06/2019 22:36

Raindrops, clouds and snowflakes? Lol I've had one of those work says that started with a phone call at 6am and didn't get better. But I've had a lovely bath and gradual fake tanned so I don't look too pasty tomorrow in a skirt as Manchester is sunny!
Have to fight off the dog who wants to lick off the tan. Don't want random lick patches 🤣

Huffthepuff · 21/06/2019 22:41

Define 'need' Never

Huffthepuff · 21/06/2019 22:43

I've just bought an iron. I thought the novelty of purchasing an iron would make me use it. It hasn't worked. You make a valid point Never

Huffthepuff · 21/06/2019 22:45

I would wear them with this https://www.toa.st/uk/product/c6kat-c6mab/cotton+easy+tee.htm?clr=c6katchalkwhite&gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzJm158X74gIVxp3tCh1rSAtiEAQYBCABEgJGCvDD_BwE

As I don't own the above that poses a further conundrum

neveradullmoment99 · 21/06/2019 22:52

🤣🤣🤣🤣

whiskyremorse · 21/06/2019 23:01

@Huff that sounds expensive if you add all the coordinating items you don't have lol.

Huffthepuff · 21/06/2019 23:09

😡 you are doing very well. Consider me talked down!

justilou1 · 21/06/2019 23:59

Omg - the perimenopause and the anxiety! Don’t get me started!!! It’s no wonder so many women were chucked in the looney bin prior to HRT!!!

Ellapaella · 22/06/2019 00:05

Yes Huff lots of money for just two items of clothing! What shoes would you wear with the culottes? (If you buy them of course...)

I'm away with friends so dipping in and out if the chat but @GinandGingerBeer I have sampled passion fruit gin 😋 very nice - also tonight have had this Parma violet gin which is surprisingly tasty

Its the Hushista Sisters: enjoying Summer Sales, Sangria and a little Full Moon Madness
justilou1 · 22/06/2019 07:24

OMG @Huffthepuff - just had a look at the culottes and on the Aussie version of the vebsite they’re REDUCED to $250!!! (From $365!) They’re nice and all, but I’d go elsewhere before I’d spend that on something that requires ironing. (UNIQLO?) Let’s be honest, they wouldn’t suit me either. Am far too short and bottomy!!! For that price they’d have to do all my other ironing as well!

justilou1 · 22/06/2019 07:25

@ella - violet gin?!?! Sounds fabulous!!! Going to the local gin joint next week. Will take a photo of their gin menu and share for inspiration.

SoyYo · 22/06/2019 12:52

Huff I think the Toast culottes are beautiful and thank you for the lovely comment on the red skirt.
If they fit a wardrobe gap go for it, they’ll be useful into autumn and if the quality is good then price per wear will be great as vastly reduced.
The only disabling comment I can think of is whether the paper bag waist will look old hat by next summer as it’s a very “now” fashion trend and yes I will say it again:
life is too short to iron (and stuff a mushroom) Wink

SoyYo · 22/06/2019 12:58

The weather is great today here perfect summers day and I have the house to myself so bliss.
DH has taken DS2 to Brighton to look at a studio flat that is available end of August (he’s keen to move back, therapist agreed he’s ready...fingers crossed, as I’m not so sure but we’ve held him off for over a month now) and DS1 hasn’t surfaced yet.
I’ve just had a pedicure so hooves looking good with their purple toenails.
Wishing you all a Fab weekend!
I’m tempted to order one more thing from the sale (not Hush) now I’ve received my Jigsaw dress refund...I’ll tell you later Wink
