Lots has been going on with lots of stress for many of us but our love of fashion and friendship keeps us here.

Afternoon all! Am at home today as our cctv and Wi-fi are being updated - downside of a smart home, if the Wi-fi goes down nothing works.. So I found myself perusing the net and have bought a few things, despite the heaving wardrobe.

It feels like Me & Em have created the first decent work wear dresses in about 5 years! I have ordered this black balloon cuff pencil dress and this zip front fit and flare dress. Was tempted to buy the pussy bow blouse but gave myself a shake and realised I was channelling Marsha who is about a foot taller than me..

I am on the beauty advent calendar thread and had already decided to get this Body Shop deluxe advent calendar. I still use the Body Shop stuff (no one admits to it these days!) so I thought it would be fun and different.

Lovely Blingy, you can wear a lot of things for sure but I’m stretching a bit to imagine a pussy bow blouse for some reason!

I must ask Sleep where she got that sparkly jumper, it was lovely. And much more suited to me

Saw this top in my local Monsoon earlier this week so ordered it last night with a 20% discount that popped up when I went online to look at it.
Love the colours, thinking good for smarter nights out and for work.

Monsoon top

Hello, back from hols, back to school and back to work - suddenly it feels like I have more time to myself.

My Best Buy this summer was that cheap black H&M dress very versatile for holidays. I also bought a blue and white striped dress shirt from H&M not too dissimilar to this.

Love the Me +Em dresses. Now that I’ve decluttered my wardrobe I’m itching to buy something. Not good. But I do fancy a shirt dress, in a dark green, midi perhaps to wear with knee boots......not specific am I? If anyone sees anything let me know.

I wore a Chanel style black and white tweed boxy jacket with pearl and diamanté buttons (v 1990s, did this the first time round.....left out the huge earrings this time though ) from Zara to work yesterday (bought about 6 months ago, never worn) over a black jersey dress. I bought it intending to wear it with jeans on weekends, felt a bit sensible over the black dress....but....it caused a huge stir at work.......will defo wear it again. It’s great when you wear something you’re unsure about and get positive comments....but of a boost.

Infact it’s a style I love and that suits me. I’ll be looking out for red.

So, shopping list for Autumn (having said I don’t need anything) is:
Shirt dress
Red boxy tweed jacket (not essential)

I bought this teal dress today. Great colour and shape. I think I'll go back and get the belt the model is wearing too.

I'm struggling with tops for work. I find proper shirts too stuffy, t-shirts too casual and never feel right in blouses. A lot of the blouses here are very patterned and I think they can look cheap very easily. Very hard to get pretty, relaxed but not too casual tops or is it just me?

I love this Toast blouse and it's stalking me around the internet ATM . But it's so $$$ and postage and returns from NZ are eye watering so I don't dare order.

And as I'm on a shopping roll I have ordered this top. I'm a bit nervous as you can't return sale items here but I've seen the navy version on a colleague so I'm reasonably confident it will be ok.

I love the teal dress Liberty and both of the Mango jackets.

I managed to get a new pair of these lovely Whistles shors that I've been listing after for ages from EBay for a bargain price so very pleased. My favourite colour albeit a bit high!

Monsoon still not working for me but I suspect it's because I'm not in UK.

Not a lot going on fashionwise for me - I had a photo shoot at work for our website at work so I made sure my hair was rehighlighted and wore my favourite photo friendly work outfit which is this Armani belted dress and R&B suede court shoes.

It's quiet on here so I am going to ask you for help on my 2 current fashion challenges:

1. I am going to a posh evening do soon. Its black tie. I need an evening gown. I have a few already but wondering if there is something new out there that would suit me.

2. I need flat ankle boots which I can wear with dresses. I lived in my M&S kids pair last a/w but they're not the best quality.

Dry I could kill you for ordering another cotton jacket after the clear out!

Blingy finding flat ankle boots for you is hard!! Everything seems too clumpy, lots of chunky soles around.

Are these suede boots any good?

I haven't caught up with anything but I need your help please.

My father is in his final days of life back at the nursing home on end of life medications. I need to find a dress for the funeral and am struggling. I have lost weight and a lot of what I have tried so far doesn't fit perfectly. This dress is the best contender so far. My friend who is a dress maker is coming tomorrow to see if it can be taken in at the waist as the 12 was too tight on the bust.
this is all wrong on me Gathered sleeves at the top are odd, and it is too big on the hips and waist but fits at the bust.
It needs to be black, with some form of sleeve (i.e. no exposed shoulders), fairly fitted without being clingy, decent structured fabric. Ideally not polyester as it makes me hot and uncomfortable. Any ideas? I also need shoes like these but in black suede e.g. not too high a heel.
Any suggestions gratefully received Voguettes.
