Vol85 was far too slow and hopefully a shiny new thread will get us all excited again.

Lots has been going on with lots of stress for many of us but our love of fashion and friendship keeps us here.

these are fab too

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 11/07/2019 20:58

I noticed lots of mums wearing nice day dresses at nursery pickup today. they didn't look like they had been at work like me. The weather has been so warm.

In the interest of total transparency re the Marsha 5, I bought these shoes today: Vionic in black. Linking them on here so please be honest and say if they are frumpy Grin I have very high arches, and esp since I couldn't walk properly during pregnancy, I am trying to wear better shoes. They are so comfy Blush I thought they'd be nice for work this summer.

DryWhiteagainW · 11/07/2019 22:57

shop I love both, but the silver and gold were the ones I loved most when I looked.

libertyonhertravels · 11/07/2019 23:36

Blair I like those sandals - they are not the most exciting footwear but they are nice and simple - I think with nicely pedicured toes they are perfect for work.

maradesbois · 12/07/2019 13:42

Hi Voguettes,

Am late to the mu roundup party but suffice to say I had a lovely time. My standouts were getting to know Bernice better while admiring her effortless style and seeing both Lib and Blair after so long. Shop am happy to organise a mini one, just say the word when you’re up to it.

Blair you are young and beautiful and the sandals are neither but nor are they offensive. I do understand the importance of comfy.

Bought this dress from NAP sale and debating another one as well as some shoes which i’ve had in my basket for ages awaiting final reductions.

DryWhiteagainW · 13/07/2019 09:08

Racing with MrDry today. Getting my frock on (new Whistles) soon and some (hopefully) comfy heels. Happy me. My favourite dressing.

shopafrolic · 13/07/2019 11:15

Have fun Dry - I'm v envious

shopafrolic · 13/07/2019 16:25

I’m losing track of what I have and haven’t told you but the Z&V cashmere sweater and the trainers are absolute keepers.
I’m sitting in the garden while DH sleeps (he is still shattered from the various procedures he has had) and miniShop is on his iPad for a bit. I have Red magazine and Lizzo’s album on the Bose. A rare moment of peace.

Dreamqueen · 14/07/2019 13:47

Glad to read that MrShop is recovering. MrDream is going through the mill, he's suffering really bad gout now in quite a few joints even though he's overhauled his food and drink.

I'm so sad that I missed the MU. It sounded fabulous.

I bought this Cos dress when in town this week. Also ordered these Toms to wear on hols

Not much style and beauty going on here. I'm coming to town on Tuesday to spend the night & go for dinner, will probably wear the Uniqlo black jumpsuit.

I've got a tropical wedding ealry next year so will be on the lookout for a fantastic outfit once I lose some lbs.( a 24 hour gym is opinion locally soon so have hopes pinned on that} My sister bought a lovely Issey Miyake outfit for it yesterday (can't find it to link) but she is tiny. i know I'll have to drop lbs before attempting to shop for it.

shopafrolic · 16/07/2019 09:15

Gout is horrible Dream poor guy. My FIL suffers terribly. The result for him of a lifetime of bad habits unfortunately.
Quiet on here - hopefully everyone is enjoying the sunshine.
I saw this and thought of Blair for some reason. Probably all wrong but I loved the shape and the tie.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/07/2019 10:02

Thanks Shop I do suit sweetheart necklines, but every time I try puffy sleeves I just feel like I'm playing dressing up! Plus it's white Grin wouldn't stay that way for long with DS's grubby fingers...

I wore the green Whistles dress to a family party at the weekend and felt really good in it :) with my gold Arizonas and some chunky gold and turquoise necklaces. Though I saw some pics after and I looked huge next to all my younger slimmer cousins!

Dream sorry to hear that MrDream has gout, i hope he gets some relief soon. It's horrible enough when you have to change what you eat and drink, let alone when it seems like it's not enough.

libertyonhertravels · 16/07/2019 20:40

Sounds like your DH is having a horrible time Healthwise dream. I hope things improve for him soon.

Blair your cousins must be teeny if you look big beside them. Your outfit sounds great.

Shop Z&V all the way for you.

It's our last night in Ireland, DD is very sad. She told me she feels safer in Ireland than in NZ as there are more people here who love her which has me in floods of tears SadSadSad

MarshaBradyo · 16/07/2019 21:16

Lib Sad that is hard Sad

Blair you are teeny

Dream I hope MrDream recovers from it soon poor thing

Shop very you

Not much news here, loads of garden stuff and usual - nearly end of term!

shopafrolic · 17/07/2019 08:00

Lib Sad hugs for you both. Always on video call if you need me. Much love my friend and safe travels - it was an absolute joy to see you
Garden stuff here too Marsha - I love pottering about in the evening. Am going to try and paint our Lutyens bench purple (it sits at the end of a long path framed by lavender bushes) but I've never done anything like that before and am terrified of getting it wrong.
2.5 more days for miniShop and then he starts a new school in Sept.
Blair you really are tiny. And yes, white was probably a bad idea sorry Grin

shopafrolic · 18/07/2019 09:35

Morning all
Just a quick rave about a bra! This one from John Lewis. I hate underwear shopping as you know. But this is so comfortable (no wires) and still gives great cleavage, nice thin straps for summer and good under t-shirts. Basic but very very useful so I thought I'd share. I can't find matching knickers tho (sorry Blingy).

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 18/07/2019 09:59

Have you done the bra intervention Shop or been to Bravissimo? Only because that bra doesn't come in a very wide range of sizes... no 30F which is what I am for instance. Reminds me I must go and get measured again!

shopafrolic · 18/07/2019 10:23

I am a 32E Blair (fitted at Bravissimo) so they had my size.

maradesbois · 18/07/2019 11:09

Hi Voguettes,

Checking in from my holiday terrace to say hi. Am trying for a mindful digital detox and to relax with a book instead of mindless scrolling but also nice to catch up on the thread. I realised at the last mu that I haven’t been around enough lately to know what everyone is up to so felt a bit out of the loop.

lib hope you had a safe trip back. Although heartbreaking to hear comments like that am sure dd will be fine when she sees all her NZ friends again. Although we are only just few hours from our old home ds gets a bit like that every time we go back - friends and family are so happy to see him he’s centre of attention and is normally holiday time with late nights and endless fun so I have to remind him that his cousins and friends don’t always live like that and have their day to day of school, homework etc.

Dream sorry to hear MrD is still going through the mill. Is the treatment a combination of medication and special diet?

Shop love the sound of your Lutyens bench and thanks for bra tip. I hate underwired so will check it out.

Am sharing my holiday packing list and love it when others do this. I tried to pack light and went with only dresses as follows:

2 x beach cover ups (Zara); - one short white and voile-like, the other long and paisley with slits which does beach to bar.

3x linen midi dresses; 1 is strappy navy (Whistles), 2 is short puffy sleeve floral print (Sleeper) which I wore to the mu and 3 is black marant long sleeved but super loose and cooling.

2 x striped loose shirt dresses; 1 is blue and white above knee with matching belt (Max Mara beach), the other is green and white midi with beige belt from a Japanese brand Tomorrowland - found it in Liberty sale.
1 x black wrapover mini (&OS), downgraded from day to beach.

Evening: Equipment navy silk floral sleeveless mini (plus Charlotte Olympia white strappy sandals) and Zara belted cream maxi with beige spots (plus Chloé Lauren block heels in neutral). Would have been good to manage only 1 pair of heels but the sandals have bits of yellow and orange that don’t work with the Zara dress.

Other shoes are 2 x Ancient Greek sandals in black and neutral plus cream supergas for travel and havianas for the beach. Bags are the APC plus straw beach bag and a cult Gaia raffia round top handle I picked up in the sales. Swimwear is a black hunza g 1 piece plus green bikini (Cos)

Also have a long silk printed skirt and a couple of white vest tops and that’s it. Normally I bring far too much and still forget things so was good to give it a bit more thought.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 18/07/2019 12:52

Oh that's good Shop (just wondered and obviously didn't want to ask your bra size!!)

Lib that sounds so hard but mara makes a good point that her cousins/family are in holiday mode too when they see her. And she does have family in NZ, plus it's been such a short time in the grand scheme of things. It's always sad leaving people you don't see often so she is bound to be emotional (so are you ofc).

Mara hope you're having a great time, that was really interesting to read. Dresses are just so easy, and all yours sound fab and well thought out. That seems like loads of shoes though (I am sure they are all needed Wink)

shopafrolic · 18/07/2019 13:16

I have no shame Blair it's totally fine Grin
Mara love the packing list. I always take loads on holiday so I'm v impressed.

MarshaBradyo · 19/07/2019 12:43

The outnet are no longer in my good books

Three weeks for a refund - and on a priority delivery. Matches do it the next day

Slack they’d better pay

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 19/07/2019 13:04

That is bad Marsha, they definitely didn't take that long for me with the Sophie Hulme bag.

What has happened to the weather today?!?

MarshaBradyo · 20/07/2019 09:45

Happy birthday to the lovely and beautiful Lib Cake Flowers

shopafrolic · 20/07/2019 13:41
