@SoyYo the Wren looks fantastic on you 😍 Yy you definitely got my one 😉

@Ellapaella I've ordered the black espadrilles with my Boden voucher. Although they are on back order. And a black jersey midi skirt for work which I wore today.

Yay about the kimonos having an air of Angel! I love escape to the chateau

Tatiana swing dress arrived today. Functional summer dress. Will be useful as a hot weather version of the Ivy. Also received the denim shorts. The 12 are snug... good incentive to keep up the no booze and healthy eating 🙁

Ninkaninus · 15/05/2019 21:23

I would probably go for their wedge espadrilles as well. I love them with summer dresses.

Laska2Meryls · 15/05/2019 21:24

oh yes, Soy you do look good in the Wren. Saw it earlier on you , but forgot to comment like the shorts also!

Which denim shorts did you get huff? and has the smaller wren arrived yet ..I am wearing both of mine to death already , one or the other everyday since they arrived..

The blue side stripe Santana held up to a day sitting in the office , didnt crease at all .. I am really, really pleased with it ..

I didnt get a Boden voucher ( again) I never do , Johnnie just doesnt love me enough. Sad

NotAnActualSheep · 15/05/2019 21:26

Haha laska - knew you would Grin. Hope they are good! Can you wait for your £10 a bit please just til I invoice hush for my time and I'll claim it as an expense

(Can't believe I've just wasted half an hour of my life on the Zara thread..it is, as someone says at the end, truly bonkers...And lol that any thread about a brand must be paid for by that brand. Personally, I think we are a hush PR nightmare, as we're pretty critical of loads of their stuff in terms of style & quality (bon marche incontinence trousers, anyone), and definitely veer into other brands far more than they would like, I reckon!)

Shame about the ombre top - it may still turn up.

gin - yay! Thats lovely -huff had that one too, and i think never bought it - and I got the burgundy version. We can all waft together.

soups - I'm so glad you love the Massimo Dutti jacket - that looks just like what you were looking for, and it doesn't sound like they will be difficult with returns if they are so popular. Would love to hear how it compares with the whistles one.

soy - Booooo on having to chop your holiday up. That's really annoying. But it sounds as if your boss is being pretty accommodating re working from Spain, so in the long run that sounds good.

binky - sorry you're still feeling rubbish. Hopefully a couple of days recovering at home will mean you're better for the weekend. Love that tiger bomber too...and the watery kimono - such lovely colours.

jugzy - If you find one, I'd like to know too please! I did find a chiffon-ny pleated skirt in john lewis in the Christmas sale that was similar-ish, but not quite the same - more "defined" pleats (still nice though!). And I can't see similar this season anyway. Seems to be one of those things that hush do that isn't that common across other shops at the moment though I would say that, because i'm a hush shill

nink - you are very right re just wearing things and not trying to be a perfectionist. That is basically what fashion should be about really I suppose- wearing things that give you joy! I should just forget my yucky feet and go ahead. But also, I think I can wear other things on my feet that are more flattering to me and will make me less self conscious - so i tend to shy away from things that expose toes (and knees). I may give them a long hard look and see if moisturising and nail polish will help Grin (silk purse/ sows ear etc) - and then I may come back asking for emergency sandal help (I definitely can't do flip flop/ toe post styles unfortunately, like your lovely ones- they hurt the bit between my toes).

(re name checking - I confess I have to go over threads with my notebook and write down who said what! My memory is awful. More preparation goes into some of my posts than some of my work Shock.)

NotAnActualSheep · 15/05/2019 21:27

If you do want a voucher laska do let me know. I'm really not going to use it...

Ellapaella · 15/05/2019 21:31

Alas! @Huffthepuff and @Ninkaninus unfortunately Boden shoes are way too narrow for my ridiculously wide hooves. But they are lovely.

dontcallmelen · 15/05/2019 21:38

I worry that I’m not real, but I think I am there for I am, keeps repeating I’m not a shill, if I was I’m pretty rubbish I have sent back waaay more than I have kept.

Huffthepuff · 15/05/2019 21:47

Ah Ella that's annoying. I've sized up with the espadrilles as I suspect these will be narrow. Frustrating I've got to wait 4 weeks to see if they will fit.

@Laska2Meryls the smaller Wren should arrive tomorrow along with the Miriam dress. Something will have to go back I think as I've spent too much recently. Only things I've kept from the last few Hush orders are the Marinas tho.

Ordered the Aurora red bag a la Soups and a personalised cosmetic bag for my sisters birthday. Excited to receive those.

@NotAnActualSheep do you ever get pedicures? I get one a year at about this time (sandal fear) and it makes me feel much better about my feet. Also I am a huge fan of fake tan and have just started using Vita Liberata which is incredible stuff. Like airbrushing any bits that are on show. Totally get it if that's not your thing tho! My sister thinks I'm nuts

NotAnActualSheep · 15/05/2019 21:55

I always seem to end up being accused of being a shill for something or other on the Internet... Someone on a Facebook group once accused me of being an Australian PR consultant (who he'd found on LinkedIn with almost-but-not-quite the same name as me) and I was therefore shilling for this industry we were discussing. He was totally convinced, and kept trying to engineer things I said into how I was actually in Australia and not Scotland. (it was actually very funny... went on for days.. And I may not have been helping myself, frankly... ) Some people really don't seem to believe you genuinely have different opinions/likes /dislikes to them.

justilou1 · 15/05/2019 22:00

Hi Ladies - I’m not even going to look at the Zara BS, as it would burst my bubble about us women supporting each other. (I’ve had a crapulous year and I need that carapace firmly in place, thanks! You lovelies stay where you are!!!)
@Binky, I love the kimono. There is a gorgeous thread on here about someone who has bought a stunning cherry blossom kimono who “Just wants to waft” and is having troubles styling it. She sounds lovely, and writes like one of us!
Ninka, I live in a hot, humid environment where flip flops are de rigueur, unfortunately. Oh the things I have seen!!! I wouldn’t worry about your toes! Nobody’s looking at them except for you. (Seriously, have you seen old men’s feet in sandals? 🤢🤮🤢)
Jacket is GORGEOUS, @Soups! Love it!!! Wish I lived somewhere I could keep leather where it didn’t go mouldy! Or even wear it. I am going to find a dressmaker today to alter my Whistles leopard print cocoon coat that I had delivered from Selfridges recently. Seriously cheap postage! Much cheaper than posting within Australia, and faster, too. Going to buy all my stuff that way now! Unfortunately too big, but still worth it, as I feel like a kitty and I’m going to the mountains this winter!
I agree about you all being Hush dichotomies, too. Not only do you showcase the crappier products, but you style their products with those of other companies like, um.... REAL PEOPLE! (And you are all stunning, I might add!) It would be lovely if Hush could use this as a running commentary on how they brought a diverse group of women together in such a positive way. It’s the tie that binds us, after all. We’d be good advertising for THEM!

neveradullmoment99 · 15/05/2019 22:00

Hi everyone.
For anyone reading this post, hush things can be nice. They can also be terrible quality and utter crap. So there!
We are all real. No commercial interests in hush at all.
Ridiculous.
@soyo, lovely jacket. Sorry, haven't really read back.

neveradullmoment99 · 15/05/2019 22:02

...and I totally 100% argree with you @just!

NotAnActualSheep · 15/05/2019 22:02

huff honestly, I think my feet are beyond pedicure territory. I keep meaning to try a chiropodist to scrape bits off with big metal blades (yum) but am a bit scared... I totally get how that would make you feel better about feet, though! I am trying the gradual tanning thing on my legs though, and it does seem to be a bit of an improvement (a slightly orange improvement, but better than nothing...) I'll have a look out for the vita Liberia stuff. Would love to see the miriam when it comes!

GinandGingerBeer · 15/05/2019 22:06

Oh I've just bought some vita liberata @Huff, I've not tried the instant version yet, have tried the gradual tanner though and that's nice but I've read really good reviews on the instant body make up one and I am never prepared so this will come in handy for my blue white legs.
Using the clarins drops on my face, they're very subtle ( too subtle so I've gone with 5 drops tonight, oompa lumpa by morning.....)
I've been spending too much on beauty and make up....I've no room in my wardrobes for any more clothes, make up is smaller ha ha hence skint.
I am however going to Liverpool on Friday to collect ds2's passport and I have money saved from a bonus (not massive, few hundred quid) and I am really looking forward to it. So will have a good look round Liverpool 1 and their JL.

NotAnActualSheep · 15/05/2019 22:09

And hear hear just! (mumbles in the manner of politicians in the house of commons...) 👏👏👏👐💪💓

Glad it's getting towards the time you can wear that gorgeous coat...

I saw the wafting thread, and was going to compliment the OP for the best thread title I've seen in a long time (and the most times "waft" has ever been used in a paragraph)! But didn't think that would be an especially valuable contribution.

Ninkaninus · 15/05/2019 22:10

Thanks everyone for the toe love, but you’re definitely preaching to the choir - I may not love my feet for their appearance but I love them for what they do for me every day, and I will happily show them to the world! It’s sheep who needs convincing!

Ninkaninus · 15/05/2019 22:12

And that green kimono. ❤️ Sigh. Still having buyer’s remorse, a little bit...but I will just have to buy another one with some green in it at some point...

neveradullmoment99 · 16/05/2019 07:16

Kimono

Hushistas shiver in their summer clothes.
Huffthepuff · 16/05/2019 07:34

Love love love @neveradullmoment99 😍
And those gorgeous sandals! Are they Hush? Very nice indeed. You look fabulous

Huffthepuff · 16/05/2019 07:35

@Ninkaninus did you get the red one? I think that's beautiful. I'll probably end up ordering that one too!

Binkybix · 16/05/2019 07:49

Love it never! Looks smashing.

ilovecherries · 16/05/2019 07:52

Morning everyone. I was awol yesterday - DH birthday as we went to Newcastle after work for a few hours/dinner etc. Although worked phoned twice while we were out and again at 5.30 this morning Angry

Have caught up and while I can’t remember who said what, I agree with everyone re kimonos, feet, leather jacket, trainers, wafty dresses etc. And I also agree that we are lovely here. I find I rarely read much else now, and I actually find some threads really quite depressing. The ageism is awful, the viciousness of some of the put downs (just why - why would you deliberately want to make someone else feel like crap. And adding a ‘sorry’ after you’ve done it doesn’t make it better), the MiL hatred, the assumption that kids lie all the time, and that you stop caring about your kids at some random age around 13 but def by 16. It’s just ghastly, completely toxic. God help us if that’s them in real life as well.

twosoups1972 · 16/05/2019 07:58

cherries I totally agree. And happy birthday to your dh Cake Lots of MNers would disapprove of me because I prob do too much for my dc. They should be doing chores and making dinner from the age of 5 right?? I don’t care, they’ll do things for themselves later on and I am teaching them kindness.

neveradullmoment99 · 16/05/2019 08:11

Thank you for your lovely positivity about the kimono. The sandals are indeed hush. Its a nice day to day so thought I would wear them. Have a bit of a headache actually but that's me - I go through headachey phases and always have done. Will post a picture of the hush jacket thingy later. I tried to take a picture but just couldn't do it justice. I like it on the hanger and the embroidery etc is totally me but I don't know, I feel a bit on the fence about it. Not sure if its the way I feel atm or something about the shape.
@cherries, agree also. I read on that other thread some poster said the clothes looked dreadful and I felt myself shrink into myself and then I thought, - Its one persons opinion and who makes them a guru? They probably dress dreadfully anyway, personally not impressed with zara, or are unhappy with their life they need to pick on others hope they are reading this
