I know it feels like she's been pregnant forever but if she was 12 weeks at Eugenie's wedding then wouldn't her due date have only been a couple of days ago? And first babies are often late - my DC was 4 days late but I had friends who went 10-14 days!

If she has had the baby then I do think it's a bit off if an announcement isn't made. All royal births in recent years have been announced on the day or within 24 hours, including the birth of Zara's recent baby.

Assuming mum and baby are both well then there is no need for secrecy. I understand their wish to have some private time but that doesn't preclude an announcement. Harry and Meghan can't just choose to be royal when it suits them.

I don't actually think she's had the baby yet though.

I'd be very surprised if they deviated from the custom of the birth notice being pinned to the gates at Buckingham Palace. So that makes me think the baby isn't here yet.

Didn’t a pp say yesterday a Berkshire local radio station saw a car with a police escort heading to Frimley Park.
She could have literally just had the baby and want to get out of the hospital and back home before an announcement. Otherwise there will be a scrum outside the hospital.

I reckon the baby has been born in the last 12 hours and they will go home whilst everyone is busy tweeting about Kate and announce this evening or tomorrow. ( Charlotte’s Birthday is on Friday)

I also think that the timing will take into account the American audience. So any announcement will be late afternoon +5hrs East Coast and +8hrs west coast.

It seems very likely from the time line of Eugenie's wedding, Doria's arrival date in the UK and info from a couple of sources that the EDD was somewhere around last Wednesday-Friday which would make her 5-7 days overdue - this is perfectly possible I was only taken in to be induced 42 weeks and mine was regarded as a high risk pregnancy and the baby was measuring very large on the scans (he wasn't). I don't think they would announce that they will inform when she's in labour then not actually do it. It would leave the door open for the haters to say she a liar. I expect the next few days will see and announcement. I would also thing that that there will be a few rushing royal cars in the area to try to throw journos off the scent.

Agree it would make sense if she's gone to hospital for the birth to get them back home before announcing, so they can avoid being papped leaving the hospital. Maybe an announcement later today then?

I think it would be a two fingers to the press gesture to announce the birth a week after the event. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what happens. I think they are both majorly pissed off with the way Meghan has been treated in the media and making a point.

They don't have to justify it do they, not really. It will annoy the media but that's not going to bother them that much given the way the media treat Meghan.

If the local curry house in Windsor starts getting orders for extra hot phaals and vindaloos then we'll know they're on a mission to evict the baby!
