when does Harry go to the netherlands? Is it the 8th? I would presume she'd be induced before then if she hasn't had it yet., otherwise he would likely have to cancel (or get William to go)

SleepingStandingUp · 06/05/2019 11:07

It's the Invictus Games, not like it's any old job Willz can pick up though. Perhaps if no sign of baby coming fliy him in and out for a few hours. It's not very far

QueenOfTheAndals · 06/05/2019 11:14

Assume a baby girl will be surnamed Mountbatten-Windsor if they go down the same route as Edward and Sophie? A boy would take his surname from his title, much like how it's James Severn rather than James Mountbatten-Windsor?

I felt a bit sorry for the new Thai Queen, Suthida, slithering about on the floor during her wedding ceremony, she didn't smile much! Wink

SleepingStandingUp · 06/05/2019 11:33

I assumed they'd do as per the Cambridges, aren't all three kids just George Cambridge etc at school?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 06/05/2019 11:37

Could they not just have put the new King up on a very high throne? It would allow his poor wife and courtiers to fulfil the traditional requirements and save everyone an awful lot of discomfort!

Jesus christ.

Apparently its been 50 days since Meghan has been seen so she's apparently taking the pee and the public will turn against her for shirking her duty.

Or you know, she's heavily pregnant and feeling like shit and doesn't want to go out

frugalkitty · 06/05/2019 11:48

I absolutely lovely this outfit on Max!!! It's gorgeous!

To be ‘Isla Sussex’ (Princess Isla of Sussex) as opposed to Lady Isla Mountbatten Windsor would require new letters patent from the Queen; currently great grandchildren of the sovereign don’t qualify for those titles (other than eldest son of PoW’s eldest son). she issued letters patent for all DoC’s kids but still up in the air whether she will for H&M’s.

desertgirl · 06/05/2019 11:50

Oooh yes fabulous Max dress

Gooseysgirl · 06/05/2019 12:47

I think the Queen step in and will give baby Sussex a Prince/Princess title (unless Harry and Meghan decline... and I can't see that happening 😄)

youllhavehadyourtea · 06/05/2019 12:50

Personally I feel it's all a bit Victorian, rather than modern-feminist - when Ladies ( not working class women mind) would disappear from view in the latter stages of their 'confinement'.

Anyway, I wish her well for the birth and I'm as interested as everybody else to know the name and see the first pictures.

SenecaFalls · 06/05/2019 12:51

But the Cambridge children are HRHs; that's why they use their father's title as a surname. This baby won't be an HRH when born so I assume would go by the convention used by families with noble titles so surname used would be Mountbatten-Windsor.

BertrandRussell · 06/05/2019 12:53

“unless Harry and Meghan decline... and I can't see that happening 😄)”

Why not?

SenecaFalls · 06/05/2019 12:53

Cross post with several others.

yellowalstroemeria · 06/05/2019 12:54

50 days does seem a very long time. I've just googled it and apparently Kate seems to have had 4/5 weeks between her last public engagement and birth.

SenecaFalls · 06/05/2019 12:58

I don't think she will issue new LPs because I think it would have been done some time before the birth. Also I think it unlikely that she would make a great-grandchild in the male line an HRH when she has two grandchildren in the male line who don't get to use HRH.

desertgirl · 06/05/2019 13:02

Louise and James are entitled to use HRH, their parents just choose for them not to use it.

SenecaFalls · 06/05/2019 13:09

I don't think it was just their parents. The announcement came from the Queen and I think Charles's desire to slim down the RF had a lot to do with it. I doubt that James and Louise will really have a choice in the matter when they are adults.

SenecaFalls · 06/05/2019 13:13

What will really be interesting is to see what happens with the Sussex children when Charles is king. Will they be HRHs (as they would be under current LPs) or go the way of the Wessexes?

CaptainBrickbeard · 06/05/2019 13:47

Really unfair to implicitly criticise Meghan having 50+ days when Kate managed with 35 or less - I was pregnant at the same time as a colleague and had to go on maternity leave a month before her because I was ill and struggling. No two pregnancies are the same. A woman taking enough time to rest and recharge before the birth is doing nothing wrong!

AFifthOfKoolAid · 06/05/2019 13:48

They might make it Windsor-Markle

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 06/05/2019 13:48

This is it!! She’s in labour!!!
