I am NOT enjoying choosing my wedding dress - pics

I’m getting married on my 45th birthday, in just a couple of weeks - and I’m so excited.

Except I’m at my fattest. Ever. And suddenly who I feel I am inside doesn’t match what’s in the mirror.

I simply can’t find a dress that suits me.

I keep thinking I’ve found ‘the one’ - then I see the pics and just feel I look heinous, and back it goes.

If I show the pics, can anyone out there give me honest feedback, make suggestions etc?

It’s a tiny registry office wedding followed by a nice dinner after.

TIA

The Hobbs one posted by Amara is gorgeous!

Mummyto2munchkins · 16/04/2019 22:45

Personally number 3 is my favourite for a wedding.. Although a quick search I've come across this one? Maybe a little long for you, but I think it's quite cute.

It's not a dress, but I love the headwear from this website incase you were looking for something to finish your outfit:

Wow, loads of brilliant ideas!

I love that long Monsoon one - I think that’s my problem. I wish I was doing it for the first time, and wearing a proper wedding dress - but the day we’re having won’t work with one.

I love my DP so much - I want to knock his socks off, but nothing has felt right so far.

The wedding is two weeks on Sunday Shock

I like dress 1 and 2 and you have a fabulous figure. If I were you I’d totally go for a red dress. It would be perfect with your colouring.

TokyoSushi · 16/04/2019 22:46

Yes agreed, possibly a bit 'birdie' this instead? uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_20/6429140708

Also needle & thread is incredible if you have the budget.

I like dress 2 and 3.You have a good figure and pretty face and will look great on the day when you have a dress you're happy with, it's out there somewhere.
Have a fabulous day and for years to come.

purplepingu · 16/04/2019 22:49

What about something like this? Would match your shoes and you could have coloured flowers?

Ignore the fact it's on a teenage bloody model, and think about it with red heels and amazing earrings:

BitofFun I saw your pic on another thread - you looked beautiful and very happy.

No, it doesn’t have to be white. I’m open to anything at this point!

You’re all extremely kind.

Keep the red shoes. I’m sensing personality in them.

Book a personal stylist appointment at a massive John Lewis

Do you have a budget?

aweedropofsancerre · 16/04/2019 22:51

Good Luck

OhMyDarling · 16/04/2019 22:52

Def dress 1.
Lovely.

Dress 2 I thought was the least flattering.
Liked dress 3 but not if you’re the bride.

Pinkarsedfly · 16/04/2019 22:53

I like this...but I wish they wouldn’t put the frocks on a twelve year old. No wonder I feel flat when I see them on me.

You are nowhere near the vicinity of fat!

How do you feel about something 50's style? You can team with red accessories and keep the shoes?

I'm particularly blessed in the boobs and arse area and added a decent wedge of tummy after DC and always find that 50's style stuff highlights the good bits! Plus with a decent underskirt you feel really glam!

TheDarkOverload · 16/04/2019 22:54

I bet you're seeing things that no one else will even notice (or care about).

What areas do you feel good about?

I kind of think the "This is THE ONE" about a dress actually puts a huge stress on you. Just try to relax about it.

WineIsMyCarb · 16/04/2019 22:54

Pink [stern 'Mum voice']
I don't care if it's your first time, second time or 83rd time, it's the ONLY time you'll be marrying this lovely DP and you'll remember this day for the rest of your life. Because it will be the day you and DP committed to each other until your dying days. Now find a few fabulous fucking dresses and be proud of getting to where you are today and do yourself the decency of looking fantastic, which based on your previous pics isn't going to be hard. But don't chose a second rate dress because you're not a 21 year old virgin like a bloody wedding cake topper!
Puts nice face back on
