I am NOT enjoying choosing my wedding dress - pics

I’m getting married on my 45th birthday, in just a couple of weeks - and I’m so excited.

Except I’m at my fattest. Ever. And suddenly who I feel I am inside doesn’t match what’s in the mirror.

I simply can’t find a dress that suits me.

I keep thinking I’ve found ‘the one’ - then I see the pics and just feel I look heinous, and back it goes.

If I show the pics, can anyone out there give me honest feedback, make suggestions etc?

It’s a tiny registry office wedding followed by a nice dinner after.

TIA

Dress 2 shape suited you the best but it was too big on the bust and not bridey enough.

If Prince Harry’s wife can wear a full wedding dress for her second marriage then the rest of us certainly can!!

MuchTooTired · 16/04/2019 23:29

My favourite so far is also no2, you looked fab in it, and your shoes are gorgeous! I got married 2nd time in a Coast dress, I hate wearing dresses and was getting so upset because they all looked stupid on me until I found the one and declared myself as a grown up princess.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 16/04/2019 23:30

I like the first dress.

TheSassyAssassin · 16/04/2019 23:30

Some lovely suggestions on here Pink. You do have a lovely figure and will look fab in the right dress. Of your original 3, I preferred no.2 purely because I think you suit some colour. Looking forward to seeing your new purchases. You've still got time to find the right dress and huge congrats on your forthcoming wedding Smile

LuxLucetInTenebris · 16/04/2019 23:31

I like your dress3 and the lovely one @BitOfFun posted.
And I echo PPs- you have a lovely figure. I hope you have a lovely day. Sounds like my kind of wedding!

MrsT4 · 16/04/2019 23:32

This!

It still has a bit of a boho vibe (that I think you lean towards?) but it's very WOW and def more bridal!

Also has a bit of a sheer plunge but can wear a bra and comes in blush too x

It was the Kirsten www.nancymac.co.uk/collections/lace-dresses/products/kristen-dress-in-platinum-lace-1
I found it extremely difficult to choose like you and I was never going to be completely happy but I love the 1930’s/40’s look and it was comfortable and pretty so hey...

You will find something don’t worry and you’ll have a wonderful day.

Sorry pink, i see what you're going for but that nancymac makes the model's boobs look very weird.

Pinkarsedfly · 16/04/2019 23:34

Since you are a size 14 do have a look at this lovely dress in John Lewis, it’s by CHESCA, rushed dress with beaded trim, the top is quite structured but the skirt is a beautiful gathered drape, it’s in very pale pink and costs £275.

If you don’t find anything in the next day or two, think about a personal shopper service.

You will look fab whatever you choose to wear.

Is this too wedding-y for you?

IM0GEN · 16/04/2019 23:37

Pink [stern 'Mum voice']
I don't care if it's your first time, second time or 83rd time, it's the ONLY time you'll be marrying this lovely DP and you'll remember this day for the rest of your life. Because it will be the day you and DP committed to each other until your dying days. Now find a few fabulous fucking dresses and be proud of getting to where you are today and do yourself the decency of looking fantastic, which based on your previous pics isn't going to be hard. But don't chose a second rate dress because you're not a 21 year old virgin like a bloody wedding cake topper!

Please print out this lovely post.

Widowodiw · 16/04/2019 23:37

Sorry but I’m not eager in any of the dresses. So I am going to
Go for my normal 50s style recommendation of Vivienne of Holloway. If you don’t want traditional al white/ivory they have designs in other colours. Sarong style very flattering. You will have to measure yourself as these are vintage sizing so don’t despair at the actual size you have to buy.

More formal less floaty

Thousands would be lovely with the red shoes, a red lip and cream flowers on your hair

Dress 2 is gorgeous on you!!! You are really lovely.

GreenTulips · 16/04/2019 23:39

OP in the nicest possible way, your boobs are too big for the divide and separate type dresses, you need a V neck or sweet heart neckline to accommodate them, anything else will look like a 50’s bra advert

Whoops75 · 16/04/2019 23:40

This would, not thousands

springydaff · 16/04/2019 23:40

I can't imagine how you're 13st and a size 14! You must be 7ft.

Anyway, you have a really good figure. I'm not kind when I say you could pretty much wear what you like. I'm in the business so this isn't hot air - I've seen many bodies and you've got a good bod there girl.

Ps I really like the red shoes! Stylish.

Pinkarsedfly · 16/04/2019 23:42

GreenTulips it’s so weird having boobs! Honestly, I was fairly flat until my early 40s. I’m still in that mindset!

Pinkarsedfly · 16/04/2019 23:43

springydaff honest! Pushing a 16 on a bad day. I’m 5ft 7.

I love your red shoes. You are being very harsh on yourself your figure is amazing. I think the style of dress 2 really suited you, do you mind me asking where it is from? I really hope you find the dress you are happy with

Pinkarsedfly · 16/04/2019 23:44

Dress 2 is from NancyMac, Kate
