Ella love those clothes. never love that check dress on you in particular. cherries normally not a fan of cropped trousers (an unfashionable) but they look very nice in you.

@soy any chance of that list of CG hairdressers? I’m looking for one in London.

I’ve had a few recent purposes (not Hush), but need to work out how to put up photos and obscure my face :)

Binkybix · 27/04/2019 21:49

Purchases, not purposes!

dontcallmelen · 28/04/2019 12:43

On a very random note, I popped into Aldi this week & got some of the posh room diffusers the No.14 is called velvet Rose & has made my downstairs loo smell like a rose garden😍 think they were £3.99

SoyYo · 28/04/2019 12:47

Hello from a grey windy East Anglia.
I remember taking my DC to Robin Hill in IoW when they were little such a fun place!
Glad you’re enjoying your DG’s, knackering I’m sure but children are such a joy and life is so uncomplicated...it’s like looking at the world with wonder again. And they are funny! (I had such fun when mine were little, I doubt very much I’ll have DG’s any time soon. If ever).

Sorry to read about your DD accident @cherries. Poor thing, Hope she gets over the shock fast and a good idea to get her driving again straight away.

@binky I’ll pm you

Wishing you all a relaxing Sunday

Laska2Meryls · 28/04/2019 18:52

I am now relaxing at the end of a busy weekend, SmileIt was an expensive but fun weekend, and I need to record my spends for the last week! Wine needed methinks..

Had a bit of interesting (and possibly lucrative) news of which more once I know more, so I'm thinking I need a treat anyway in advance !!

What can I buy from the new collection ? Hmm

neveradullmoment99 · 28/04/2019 19:00

@Laska, sound like a bit of an exhausting weekend. Oh definitely treat yourself. Plenty of nice things about.

dontcallmelen · 28/04/2019 19:09

Laska definitely treat yourself especially if you can do it in advance😀 after the exhausting weekend, I’m off to Ikea tomorrow to treat myself to some shelves! I know I know the excitement off my life knows no bounds.

neveradullmoment99 · 28/04/2019 19:12

@cherries - hope your dd is ok Flowers

dontcallmelen · 28/04/2019 19:13

Laska can I ask if there is a simple way of recording spends, I have one payment next week & my cards will be clear, but I just need to be more aware of what I’m doing with my money & keep track.
You always seem so on top of life admin, unlike me.

neveradullmoment99 · 28/04/2019 19:13

@melen, sadly off to work tomorrow boo!!!

dontcallmelen · 28/04/2019 19:17

never that is indeed boo & at least we will have a nice cheap lunch & actually thinking about it Monday is a good day to go as it will be nice n quiet, so I will go with a spring in my step😂

Laska2Meryls · 28/04/2019 19:17

Len I use' You Need a Budget' software, .. but I have a v old version , the latest ones you have to pay yearly. Mine was a one off payment and has paid for itself many times over .. it is like an excel spreadsheet though really ..

Laska2Meryls · 28/04/2019 20:21

I wont , actually....A bird in the hand etc... Wink Anyway, its payday soon!.. And, there's still no code to be had .... Sad😢

ilovecherries · 28/04/2019 21:32

I know, sodding free postage and returns is hardly encouraging.

DD is fine, very shaken up and upset (as are we as her missed MRI will cost us a grand unless she can convince the hospital to be lenient). She’s still on her dad’s work health insurance, but a missed appt is going to come straight off my cc. And although it’s MY credit card, and her dad’s insurance, the hospital won’t discuss it with anyone but her. Which is a shame as I think I might be somewhat more persuasive than her! Although she can’t talk about it without crying, so maybe she’ll manage to elicit some compassion. Her car is a mess though and she says she keeps revisiting the moment of being hit and shunted onto the pedestrian crossing (she was sitting stopped at a pelican crossing). Huge white van and she was in a Honda jazz :( I’m moaning about the hospital and the car so that I don’t think about the ‘what-if’s’.

I’m watching brene Brown on Netflix just now. It’s quite inspirational.

melen the room diffusers sound great, I might have to have a trip to Aldi! Isn't their chocolate also supposed to be very good?

cherries how is your dd today? Hope she's managing to get over the shock. That's so annoying about the scan. I've had similar problems speaking to health professionals on behalf of dd. I would be tempted to phone up and say you are her.....

They MUST be lenient surely, after what's happened??

Huffthepuff · 29/04/2019 14:47

Just had a quick try on of my delivery in the work loos, some stuff is definitely going back!

Greek widow/Alvers, will be useful, doesn't look amazing in photos but so easy to wear.

Striped shirt dress, great fit. Perfect work summer dress

Striped marina, love this more than I expected to. Please ignore the stripy top, it's all I have with me!

Khaki Janelle jersey maxi dress - awful on me. Terrible.

Jersey broderie dress - meh. Makes me look wider than I am, not worth the money. Soft and comfortable tho

SoyYo · 29/04/2019 15:46

@Huff you look great! Love the stripy dress. Totally keep! And seeing the Marina stripy skirt on you is really tempting me to buy it and sod waiting for a discount! And actually it doesn’t look at all bad with the stripy top...more like you were combining stripes on purpose.
Also surprised the Alvers looks marvellous on you...I ordered it in the fab turquoise print but found it too voluminous (as in hanging off boobs) compared to last years Greek widow. Yet on you it’s superb and agree super easy wear. Did you size down?
Needless to say again: KEEP!

Huffthepuff · 29/04/2019 15:56

Thanks @SoyYo ! This is the 10 in the Alvers. I'm just not sure it does me any favours? I really struggled to take a non hideous photo 😂 but then it's so comfortable and would be very easy in the summer. Could look fab with a bright scarf or kimono. That's the only one I'm not sure about. The 2 jersey dresses are already boxed and ready to go to the post office this afternoon. Keeping the striped dress and striped Marina.

Definitely recommend the marina if you're wanting some encouragement Soy! The stripes feel very forgiving!

Huffthepuff · 29/04/2019 16:26

Alvers is going back. May reorder with a code but just not that bothered by it. Will just keep the stripy dress and striped Marina. I'd like to try 3 dresses from the new collection too. We need a code!

ilovecherries · 29/04/2019 16:27

I’m on the train heading back, having left car at home for DD. Best estimate for repair is currently at 2K, so it will def be an insurance write off, given it cost her 3k 15 months ago. She’s just so upset. Indication she may get £400 from insurance, and even though she was sitting stationary at a pelican crossing, may also lose her no claims bonus. I’m just gutted for her. They haven’t assessed the chassis yet, that’s just bodywork, and the guy in the bodywork shop said it’s very possible it’s damaged as the impact has been very significant. Looks like the van actually accelerated into her, rather than simply not stopping in time. I’m furious, AND the driver of the transit van is being a dick and pretending he doesn’t understand what we mean by needing his insurance details, which he still hasn’t provided. I’m guessing he maybe wasn’t even insured.

ilovecherries · 29/04/2019 16:30

huff, you look great in that striped dress - I order it a few weeks back, and it was hideous on me, but it’s def a 👍 for you.

OP posts:
SoyYo · 29/04/2019 16:30

Hi @Huff the Alvers looked good too on the photo but I reckon if you reorder go down to an 8 if you’re not too big on top it’ll be more flattering as it’s got sooo much fabric! If it wasn’t for my big chest I would have reordered a 10 which would have been just right elsewhere.
Anyway I think it’ll be reduced later and I agree it’s a super easy summer dress but too casual for work whereas the stripy dress and the fab stripy marina you’ll get lots of wear from now till autumn.
Yes we want a discount code!! Stamps foot.
Are you listening Hush?

SoyYo · 29/04/2019 16:33

So sorry to read above @cherries...as if the shock and missed MRI weren’t reason enough to worry. Sad
I don’t quite understand why DD would lose her no claims bonus though...she wasn’t at fault! Why?

ilovecherries · 29/04/2019 16:39

Apparently the actuarial tables show that if you have a no fault accident, you are more ‘accident prone’, especially as a young driver. And she only has one year’s bonus, so it’s not protected, but having it dropped her insurance by £750 this year.
