@ilovecherries I think that your shirt and cropped trousers could work, there's definitely a gap in the market for toilet friendly jumpsuits!
I am excited as it's my 40th birthday tomorrow. DS1 and I are going to do a spot of browsing around the shops (he'll be hobbling on his crutches). He's a good shopping companion as he's very into fashion and seems to take after his me in that respect. He has a good eye for clothes and ever since he was a toddler he's loved clothes shopping! Then we'll have some nice lunch somewhere before his appointment with a trauma surgeon about his knee late afternoon.
So looking forward to a bit of actual shop shopping as I rarely get the chance.
Hope you are ok cherries I also noticed you were a bit quiet on here over the weekend.

Laska2Meryls · 23/04/2019 20:37

You kept the the gold side stripe in the end then, Never ? They are lovely .. The original ones are a bit long on me but not that much. I'd like it if the new ones are cropped on me as I'm sure I'll wear them as much as the others , but it doesn't really matter now as I have the originals back again ! . I saw the star ones yesterday, they looked fine also. I think soy has them..

neveradullmoment99 · 23/04/2019 20:40

I sent them back tbh. I felt the gold stripe just wasn't 'me'. If it was a plain stripe I would have kept them but I felt they were a bit pricey too.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/04/2019 20:41

@soy has the star leggings. They look nice but not sure what I would wear with them as the background is navy? Or is it black?

Laska2Meryls · 23/04/2019 20:49

Yes they are pricey for leggings at £45 - gold stripe or not! . The starry ones have a Black background , Never .. ..I think Soy said she wanted them for Pilates.. I cant see me wearing them for everyday wear tbh..

neveradullmoment99 · 23/04/2019 20:55

I agree. Great if you go to a gym or pilates/yoga. They are cute though.

Laska2Meryls · 23/04/2019 20:58

btw Never I saw this khaki beach cover up in M&S yesterday and meant to post it earlier , it is very lightweight, but thought that you might be interested..

dontcallmelen · 23/04/2019 21:08

Ella happy birthday for tomorrow🎂🥂 enjoy the shopping & hope Ds appointment goes well.
Laska you have reminded me to get busy sorting my wardrobe out.
The pesky tree man finally showed up late this afternoon, so at least debris has gone, but oh my the garden is a mess.
cherriesaww shame Easter wasn’t great, hope dd is ok & her dissertation is finished & submitted.

ilovecherries · 23/04/2019 22:38

Have a lovely day tomorrow, ella.

Yeah, I’m fine, dd health has been a bit worrying recently, we should be used to it, but...Anyway, things seem ok for now. And yes, the damn dissertation got finished and submitted and I’m back with DH.

Happy birthday ella. Enjoy your trip to Rome on the weekend

Laska2Meryls · 24/04/2019 08:54

I'm still in bed! But have just lurked on the decluttering challenge thread ( this has to be a major project here as Now Dh retiring we have to decide what to do with the house he lives in all week. So a lot more of his stuff will be coming here..
I spent yesterday chucking clothes as you know, but I have just watched that was posted in the other thread.. Quite inspirational. I am never going to get to her level, but she does make a lot of sense..

I am going to look at my wardrobe again today for another cull with a much harder heart.. Really do not need 7 checked shirts for a start!! Also I am having to empty out aroom which I have gradually colonised since DS left as it will become DH den..

Tbh , amongst friends can I say that I am so apprehensive now DH will be here all the time?, Don't get me wrong, I do adore him, but we've lived like this for most of the 25 years we've been together. And I like my space!! (I certainly would never remarry or live with anyone , if I was on my own again )
He is also much more 'driven' than me -always doing stuff, cleaning, wants to totally redecorate the house etc .( it does need doing, I agree, but, me , I'm just not so bothered). Quiet frankly, I'm bricking it ,. Confused

dontcallmelen · 24/04/2019 09:10

Aww Laska I would be as well, will be a huge adjustment you must get used to having your own space, routine etc & to all of a sudden have another person in the mix a very daunting prospect, would imagine it’s going to be a very different for you both for a while until you sort of find your ‘roles’ in the new set up.

Laska2Meryls · 24/04/2019 09:45

Yes it is, I am going to have to get used to being married , after all this time!! I have of course been encouraging him to retire, but I know I am going to have to be very careful to make allowances as its a massive change for him too.. I said to him yesterday on the phone that I had been 'making good use of my last days of freedom' (I am off work all week) and he got a bit upset.. (me and my big foot..).... Perhaps I am over thinking things..

Its not so nice here today, I have just put the heating back on !!

Laska2Meryls · 24/04/2019 09:51

So off back to the wardrobe , with Brew bags and new resolution . Am not dumping any of my cashmere though , I love them and wear them loads the older ones even around the house .( I have so many because a JL cashmere cardi is always on my christmas present list ) .. I am meeting DS for lunch today , so can drop to a different set of charity shops .. so I dont look like the village mad bag lady {wink]

dontcallmelen · 24/04/2019 10:01

That’s the sort of thing I would say as well, not very nice here either very grey & much cooler, good luck with the rest of the clothes culling & reckon it’s a good idea to distribute farther afield, definitely don’t wanna be the that ‘Village Lady’ 😂

ilovecherries · 24/04/2019 10:03

Off to Manchester for a meeting. Top to toe hush. Denim jacket from Xmas sale, Bryce culottes, ditto, grey diamond tee and assorted Hush jewellery!

(3 checked shirts are in the charity bag! Smile, have just come downstairs for more coffee from the pot and couldnt reist a MN peek! )

Ellapaella · 24/04/2019 10:20

@ilovecherries you look fabulous ❤️ I love that outfit and I believe you have the same bag as me, they're lovely little bags aren't they?

Thanks for the birthday wishes all, just walked the dog on what turned out to be a surprisingly warm and sunny beach. Waiting for in laws to pop round before DS and I hit the shops. Hopefully will have some new purchases today. Was going to go into town to browse Hush at JL but have decided on metro centre instead.

SoyYo · 24/04/2019 10:28

Quick hi in between never ending work calls which started at 8am today 😩

Dear Ella Happy Birthday!! Feliz Cumpleaños! 🎂🎊🎁 Wishing you have a lovely day and amazing Rome weekend.

@cherries you look beautiful today, love the clothes you’re wearing

@laska I’m amazed at your focus on getting rid of clothes so efficiently. Go You! I need to do the same pronto! My cupboards and rather generous built in wardrobe are bursting literally 🤦🏻‍♀️ I know what you mean about DH, my DH has also decided to stop end of May and it’ll be a challenge to say the least (yes I encouraged it too) so we’re both on the same boat. I like my space and homework a lot in between the travelling so sometimes when I’m in the “work zone” even at home I stop, leave my little office to have a break but head is full of work thoughts and don’t want to have my thought disturbed by people asking me things such as: can I have a supermarket shopping list? (Ffs look in the cupboards and decide for yourself) or what do you think of this or that? (Unless it’s this thread Wink)

On the starry Hush leggings yes black background with blue stars. Goes well with any black or blue top. I wore at the weekend to go to the beach with long Hush black vest (which looks like a mini dress on me because I’m so short) and the Hush turquoise sweatshirt that was on the winter sale, very comfy very casual. I like having mini stars on my legs.

Must dash another TC now 👋👋

ilovecherries · 24/04/2019 10:39

I had to flick back to find your bag, ella, but I think it is the same. I bought it last year on Amazon but as it doesn’t have an extendable strap, it was too short with my boobs. Found it when I was home last week, and realised it now fits perfectly. Have a wonderful birthday. My 40th seems so recent, and dd was still a breastfeeding baby.

ilovecherries · 24/04/2019 10:43

laska, I am also rather worried about DH retiring this year, I’m not quite sure what he will do with himself. Plus retirement didn’t actually agree with me either, and I ended up hot footing it to consultancy within a few weeks. And while I’m (sort of) ready to leave that behind now, I really want it to be for another career change.

cherries you look very stylish👍🏼 Yy forty not feeling that long ago crikey it’s true what they say time does fly when you get older, my Ds is forty this year😱
Ella have a lovely day, enjoy the shopping.
My Dh is not retiring for probably about another eighteen months, so if you all get driven mad by the dh’s pop round to chez Len😍
never meant to say, very impressed with the bike riding.

Laska2Meryls · 24/04/2019 11:07

He finishes work next Tuesday!!
.. so watch out for me Len (I am not so very far away ... Wink , but we cold go to the Hush Pop up shop in London.. )

Ok im not chucking out any more clothes right now, will see what I wear this summer but I have BlushBlushBlush 15 cashmere cardis! (3 of them Black) I will never have to buy another ..(true, two of them have recently come my way because they were DMs and she had never worn them , it seems)

I do seem to have a random Hush Burgundy Ivy in XS going spare if anyone wants to make me an offer, not worn but really the sleeves are too small on me .. ... £30? .
