So I’ve become a bit obsessed with this lately as let’s be honest when do you ever see other people’s real life lady gardens? So time for a straw poll:

Are you a bare naked kinda lady? Landing strip? Wide berth? Trimmed? Au naturel?

The media makes out it’s weird to have public hair. I’m thinking naked truth on channel 4, hair removal adverts, you name it. But what is the majority status quo? Do most women these days really remove all their hair? I’m taking the above examples as an unrepresentative sample of the population considering if you choose to go on a tv show and have your naked body scrutinised you will probably not go on there without some grooming for show.

So hit me

I’ll go first. I reserve bikini waxes for high days and holidays. I don’t shave as I get awful awful shaving rash. So I trim from time to time, but I am most definitely not neat and tidy. I do wax my legs and my eyebrows and shave my armpits regularly. Dh doesn’t care about the state of down there so I don’t bother doing that much but now I’m really self conscious when I use shared swimming changing rooms terrified of being judged by the bare waxers out there!

I'm a Hollywood wax kinda gal. I've only just started dating again & it's weird not knowing what a prospective new partner likes.

I'm sure I'll get slated for turning my 50 yr old fanny into a pre-pubescent horror, but my minge, my choice.

LilQuim you see I do kinda get that! I think if I was single again now I probably would get it all off for fear of not being what was expected or whatever. But then in some ways it makes me feel bad for thinking that cos then it’s not entirely my choice is it, almost like peer pressure! Without the peers :S

Toast this is me most swimming lessons next to all the very preened other mums that even if they don’t remove everything most certainly remove all the outer bits haha!

I don't shave my legs or armpits either.

Never had any complaints from people I've slept with. Men or women.

Bare genitals freak me out. Kids are hairless. Not adults.

Don't do anything at all, never have. If I were unfortunate enough to become single and having to date then I would leave it as it is. If new partners didn't like it then tough.

@PinkandBlueMotherofTwo thing is, I prefer it like that, but have met guys who prefer full on bush (& I'm like... errrrrm...). I don't like body hair, so given the choice I'd have all of it lasted off.

Just replaced my swimsuits with ones with short bottoms, much better. Can't believe swimsuit designers think crotches adorned or otherwise should be on display.

I'm nearly 50 and au naturel. Met DH in the early 90s when hair removal wasn't a thing. Can't imagine wanting to risk infection because of porn. I spent my teenage years worrying my hair growth wasn't sufficient!

People always say that on these threads, implying that men who have a preference for no hair are secret paedos. But can an adult woman's vulva ever look pre-pubescent? I don't think so.

I do think the revulsion some (usually younger) men have for pubic hair is fucking ridiculous but I think they've been programmed by porn into thinking pubic hair shouldn't exist, rather than them being deviants.

@LilQuim yeah I feel better when I have trimmed a bit especially when on my period as it all seems to get caught up so from that point of view! But oh the pain of having it all removed, I can cope with a bikini wax but a Hollywood I’m not so sure is worth it haha!

Trimmed and oiled triangle of hair (so that when legs are closed you can’t see any bald patches). Bikini line, labia and ahem bum,ole all lasered off.

Au naturel - as in I let it all hang out.

All off for me. I’m weird about hair though, even my eyebrows can’t have a stray hair not in the right place

I’m not very hairy. Shave my legs at the beginning of summer and then maybe once halfway through. Or at the beginning of a sun holiday. Occasionally trim my pubic hair but never shave. I do my armpits maybe once in a blue moon. I consider myself very lucky!

I use Veet on mine. I've tried shaving but it just doesn't work so well and I'm too scared of the pain to get it waxed! It's a preference thing for me, it just feels nicer hairless.

I wax women all day everyday and it’s their body- their choice.

What really annoys me though is when women say condescendingly to other women ‘ why would you want to look like a pre-pubescent girl!?’

And I answer to that ‘ so you don’t shave your armpits then? Because by that logic if you did you’d be trying to look prepubescent ‘

Small triangle of hair at front, all off underneath. I have however at various times tried every variation including full bush. I don’t give a fuck about what anyone else thinks about it, it’s for me and it’s not about aesthetics, sex feels much better, when I have a full head of hair down there, it’s too sensitive to touch, like being tickled.

Hollywood wax all the way. I’ve been getting it done so often now that a wax every two or three months is fine
