And in case you get bored of the royals or they're having a quiet week, here's the Celebrity S&G thread!

Remember, let's critique the clothes without getting too personal about the wearers.

Drowningincustard I don't think the montage I posted was by Kate's communications guy (or are you suggesting Meghan's??), no, I think it was just a fan!

I think maternity is clearly easiest if you are tall, like most good clothes!

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/02/2019 09:59

The latest from the US tabloids. I guess if he's a vampire that'll explain a lot...

Lol can completely believe that about Phil! Quite enjoy seeing US headlines :)

Not sure everything on the high St is dowdy but ok... tbh they could all give up all of it (I’m a republican!), was just hoping Meghan would be more “of the people” and less £5k outfits

AFifthOfKoolAid · 08/02/2019 10:05

Those National Enquirer type magazines are something else.

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/02/2019 10:15

They certainly are @AFifthOfKoolAid, although I think they do less damage than the likes of the Mail or Sun as the headlines are so obviously made up!

My favourite was the now-defunct Weekly World News, which would claim from time to time that Elvis had been found alive on Mars!

Silly q, but do these sorts of mags not need to show some evidence? Some of the things they print are pretty out there!

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/02/2019 10:18

I think they just make them up as they go as they know no one will take them seriously.

Klaxon!

Eugenie's dress to go on exhibition

AFifthOfKoolAid · 08/02/2019 11:04

Ah it also seems Harry and Meghan's wedding outfits are back there until until 17 Feb.

If you go to Windsor Castle and get your ticket stamped on the day you convert it into a visitor pass and can go multiple times for a year.

@notmyrealname
Spot on! Exactly how I feel too.

LoversLane · 08/02/2019 11:25

M&H are doing a three day official visit to Morocco at the end of Feb.

Notmyrealname855

Well said.

I'm boring myself now but it's the fact that nothing fits which grieves me most.

Inicidentally, I have a black velvet skirt very much like the one she wore last night. It's not Givenchy (obviously) and it cost less than £100. It can be done Grin

^^

Notmyrealname855 · 08/02/2019 14:10

Apparently Harry and Meghan’s next event is a gala at the Natural History Museum (can’t find Wills and Kate’s).

If you could be Meghan’s stylist for the week what would you offer to her to wear? I’d love to see her in more high st pieces, and then I’d wait months and then pull something haute couture for any really big events.

Think Meghan is exceptionally pretty (Kate too!), she doesn’t need pricey stuff all the time to look great. Her pre-engagement style was so cool, I just hope she’s not being made to wear anything by The Firm etc as some of her dresses don’t seem her thing (e.g the old folk’s home).

I’d offer her a lot more “normal” labels but you can’t often fake great shoes so the budget would go on shoes :)

probably a bit too traditional/ boring! But both would really suit her, and a bunch of women could say “ooh I have the same dress”

maddersonlondon.com/collections/maternity/products/arabella-dress would’ve been great earlier in her pregnancy, my favourite, smart but preppy (this is a bit of a day version m.asos.com/new-look-maternity/new-look-maternity-mixed-spot-shirred-waist-dress/prd/11024312?clr=black-pattern&SearchQuery=&cid=8343&gridcolumn=2&gridrow=2&gridsize=2&pge=1&pgesize=72&totalstyles=294)

www.boohoo.com/maternity-ruffle-sleeve-wrap-dress/BZZ48316.html?color=588 Maybe she doesn’t like short dresses now? Again, easy and basic - she could dress it up easily

m.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/clothing-427/maternity-456/maternity-teal-animal-shirt-dress-8368339 Shirt dresses suit everyone! Plus a bit more her pre- engagement style, bit more relaxed - an ok day dress

m.dorothyperkins.com/en/dpuk/product/dresses-5699972/maternity-dresses-204375/maternity-black-rope-horn-buckle-wrap-dress-8367594 Another day one

Wonder if the big labels can say to her stylists, chose anything and we can make it maternity wear? Because then the range is endless, if only they’d get the fit vaguely right!

Also why are Harry and Meghan doing this trip abroad? Pushing it a bit close to the due date!

Notmyrealname855 · 08/02/2019 14:14

DontCallMeCharlotte please post a pic!

(yes, i have a lot of time on my hands, quiet afternoon!)

itswinetime · 08/02/2019 14:24

Kate and wills next event is the baftas on Sunday apparently they have both been conducting private meetings this week the next we will say Kate is

13 February - The Duchess of Cambridge will attend The Royal Foundation’s ‘Mental Health in Education’ conference.

13 February - The Duchess of Cambridge will attend the 100 Women in Finance Gala Dinner at the V&A Museum London in aid of Heads Together's legacy programme ‘Mentally Healthy Schools’.

I haven't looked Williams up Blush.

I think Harry and Meghan are trying to work as close to due date as possible so they can have as long off after which I get.

I think the reason I would like to see Meghan in more British/high street or independent is because I think one of the perks in having a royal family is to highlight stuff like that. It's not a criticism of her as a person just something I think would be good. Yes it's meant to be about the charity not the clothes but unfortunately it tends to be the other ways that's not the royals fault It gets more attention I could tell you Kate's last three engagements probably Meghan to I couldn't name one of William and Harry's (not including joint ones).

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/02/2019 14:33

If their baby isn't due til April then they'll be fine to go to Morocco in a couple of weeks. It's not a longhaul flight either, just a few hours,

Ah thanks @Paradyning, HCP is always welcome! Madeleine is just stunning and always looks radiant. Her gown is Roland Mouret and looks to be from the same collection as Meghan's Variety Performance dress.

Our favourite Max has been at a finance summit in a fairly low-key (for her) outfit. But the cape and silver shoes rescue it from the ordinary!

If I remember when I get home from work, I will borrow a white shirt off DH and try and recreate the look (ha ha ha ah ha ha!).

MintyChops · 08/02/2019 18:50

I think the DoS would look amazing in this

Hated the shirt/skirt combo, just cut her at the wrong place. She is glowing though!

MotherofPearl · 08/02/2019 18:54

Only Max could get away with silver shoes at a finance summit!

MakeItAmazing · 08/02/2019 19:03

AFifthofKoolAid

That is a nice montage of Catherine but what also struck me immediately is her hand on her bump and how no one complained about her doing it.

kooshbin · 08/02/2019 19:39

That's a lovely dress, Minty. The DoS would look gorgeous in that.
