WideWebWitch · 02/07/2007 07:45

This is week two of the fifth boot camp of 2007 everyone is welcome.

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

forgot to post everyone's stakes sorry, feel free to post again why you're doing this boot camp (yeah right, more like a holiday camp for some of us )

Good! Didnt join in because it all seemed too nutty for words.

Thanks for the sanity it was that thread I was referring to.

sobernow lol... I have just punished myself by watching bldy Gillian McKieth and I have screamed at the tv. She is so nasty! I always wonder how much weight remains off once the cameras have gone. Why did I watch it?

GF, sorry you've had a bad day. Hope tomorrow is better

cerys · 03/07/2007 21:14

Winnie, hope things improve with you and your DD. Have fun spending your Boots points! DS is only a toddler - 3 in October - so it goes with the territory. He is just so much more physical than the DDs were at that age...!

WWW, my evening got even less glamorous after I posted yesterday. Poor DD2 pooed her pyjamas, so DH and I had to calm her down, hose her down in the bath, bath her, find clean pyjamas and put her in her ready bed in DD1s room. Fortunately DD1 and DS both slept through this commotion! DS has had a dodgy tummy today so I think there's something going round. I finally got to bed at 2am today so I really must have an early night and dream of Rupert Campbell-Black and co

hi to all the other bootcampers - hope no-one else is living in the House of Poo.

swedishmum · 04/07/2007 08:13

Crisis today - dh has gone off th the airport with my make-up bag in his car!! Paper bag over my head perhaps?

tigermoth · 04/07/2007 08:13

quick hello as I have not been around here for a while but now I am coming back again. Winnie, sorry to hear about your dd. Hope the move brings something positive. I am now recovering from a bad cold, bought on by being outdoors all day at an event at the weekend, I think. I still have an impressive chesty cough which might me a bit of sympathy when I go in to work today. Tortishell, congratulations and bad luck! Marina, sorry about the stress at work.

glitterfairy · 04/07/2007 08:17

THanks Winnie you too! At least I got a bit of sleep last night although I share a bed with dd at the moemtn and she spent all night kicking. We are moving in two weeks and she will ahve her own room again thank god!

Am back on the path of right today and am going to get my head down and really work hard for the next month or so before my holiday whihc looms in 6 weeks.

Things are a bit better at work, thanks all Now there are more details in circulation, it is easier to see where the savings will be made - and I am a cautiously happy NIMBY. Will attend proper meeting later this week, thanks all for kind thoughts
So now I have to kick the consolation biscuit tin
WWW, I am eternally grateful to you for even flagging the issue of the ad being shown at U certificate films, because the debate has sparked a rethink (worth a few nutters and fully qualified trolls I think). I would NOT have wanted my two to see that ad as described.
glitterfairy, I hope you have a better day too, and winnie, hope your dd's steps in the right direction continue
Walked lots yesterday and don't feel the carefully chosen curry I consumed counts because it was bought for me

Marina · 04/07/2007 09:19

Oh yes, TM, I got your mail, so sorry to hear about cold. Too much standing about in damp tents IMO, what a rubbish summer for all your events

Marina · 04/07/2007 09:20

Cerys, we had a poo spectacular the other night when dd forgot to heft her nightie and dropped a biggun into the hem. Which then rolled, meatball style, across the bathroom and under the sink, cue hysterical laughter from one of us at least

glitterfairy · 04/07/2007 09:24

Tha day has started well and thank everyone. I went ot collect packing boxes from my removal man who last saw me in December and he nearly fainted at me. He couldnt beleive how much weight I had lost even though I am dressed for running in a baggy t shirt and cut offs! Hurrah!

Lizzer · 04/07/2007 09:37

[lurking, waving] Oh I wish I was still on this thead, can I just say hello even though I'm a nearly a stone heavier and 18 wks pg now? Don't get to see what my favourite mners are up to on any other thread.... So its week 2/6 bootcamp 5 wow that is flying past! Well done all of you

Yay Lizzer, good to see you and to hear all is well with you

Lizzer · 04/07/2007 12:02

Thankyou, I'm good thanks - hopefully will burn off baby fat on here next year, so ya'll better not give up..ever...

It will be Jan 08 when I start again, though I have to say the 'rules' have stayed with me and I'm being much more healthy through this pg than the last... Particularly on thehealthy snacks and sun cream front.

Was reading all your news, so glad some of your work stress is tailing off marina....

Batters, why are you mrbatters now btw? And YES its blardy hard trying to motivate oneself to walk anywhere in the rain/hail/general wintery weather isn't it. I'm trying to get up and out today but no-one should do in rain...its just not cricket!

WWW I hadn't realised it was you who implemented the withdrawal of 'that' advert. Dd (7) saw it in cinema and turned to me straight away with a sad look on her face. Anyway I won't get into it as it has been done to death, but it annoyed me, so thank you for your pro-activity.

Winnie, sorry to hear your news but I wholeheartedly agree with "the thing about bringing lunch to work is that it doesn't last until lunchtime" it rarely lasts til 10.30 for me!!

Ok I might have a huuuuugggggeeee belly but I bet I'm beating you ALL on the alcohol front [unfair, enforced, slightly twitchy emoticon]

Anyway I'll go away now and leave you all to it....Byeeeee

tortoiseSHELL · 04/07/2007 12:28

Glad things are looking up marina. Lizzer, 18weeks ALREADY? Where did that time go?

winnie · 04/07/2007 17:06

Lizzer, lovely to 'see' you (iykwim)

GF, how brilliant that your weight loss is so noticable. Well done you! How close is the move now?

Batters, thank you The weight loss is great but I have noticed I don't carry weight as I once did. Everything is definitely heading south and I absolutely need to be more disciplined with the toning exercises
Batters, your dp is so thoughtful, lucky you. Enjoy the ipod
I didn't get to Boots as dd and I went for a bonding stomp around Avebury (no work today - TOIL )
swedishmum, at no make up. What did you do?
Tigermoth, hope you are on the road to recovery.
Cerys, I remember the shock of having a 'lively' ds after a very quite dd. It does get easier although you won't believe that right now

iota · 04/07/2007 18:49

hello all - I'm back from a long w/e away, actually came back on Mon but am too exhausted to post. Have been doing lots of cycling, swimming, sports and eating and drinking - not so good for the last 2 .

Guess where I've been?

CP

Oh well back to the grind now, but have a sneaky glass of wine on the go

WideWebWitch · 04/07/2007 19:32

Oh no Swedishmum re make up bag, what did you do? I have spare foundation and mascara and lipstick hanging around for those circs

Sobernow, no idea why alcoholics are scrawny! I do believe India, sadly.

Ewww Cerys re poo, AND Marina, ewww, sending you both glamour vibes!

Hi Tigermoth, sorry about your cough, hope it gets better soon

GF a holiday is a good incentive! Fab about removal man!

Batters, wow at ipod (grumpy old women pronounce it "Ipod" with the I as in SICK Wondered if the hail was your way when I read about it this am

Marina, glad things are a bit better at work.

Lizzer, hello! Ooh 18 weeks, how that's flown! Do come and see us whenever you like won't you? (sorry your dd was upset)

Winnie, ikwym, when I hold my stomach in I realise there aren't any muscles there...

Iota, how was CP? I may join you and have wine tonight...

OP posts:
glitterfairy · 04/07/2007 19:35

THanks winnie!!!! Two weeks now to go and then moving. I loathe doing it so am getting edgy and panicky.

Iota was cp good? I have thought about it but it seems quite pricey for me and three kids.

WideWebWitch · 04/07/2007 19:36

Today
100g granola
strawberies, grapes, blueberries, nectarine
wholemeal pitta with hummus and tomatoes
brazils, pine nuts, walnuts, goji berries
2 triangles of reduced fat Laughing Cow
and no walking
or sunscreen
prob not enough water
having trout tonight with green beans, mange tout and crushed potatoes

V tempted by wine as there's cold white Burgundy in the fridge and it;s been a middling shitey day. Not terrible but really, really fancy some wine...

swedishmum · 04/07/2007 21:21

Fortunately I haven't been further than the school run and Tesco today. I have evening make up here but it has my benefit lyin' eyes, touche eclat, vitalumiere.... fortunately he's back before the weekend. Shouldn't have left it there I suppose. Maybe I'll have a little trip to the shops tomorrow as youngest is at pre-school all day .

WideWebWitch · 04/07/2007 21:23

Ooh we have similar make up, I have vitalumiere, touche eclat, effet faux cils and some cheap lipstick!

OP posts:
moo · 04/07/2007 21:24

I've been pretty good but have cracked tonight (crappy day) and am having wine and chocolate.
