Christmas and the sales are sadly over but winter is still here for a few months yet.

Come and show us your cosy knits and woolly hats whilst we dream of summer - everyone welcome, the more the merrier.

Hi everyone. Lots of nice chat to catch up on!

Greek island cruise sounds lovely one. Hope you are doing ok. Great advice from dry re cruise dressing!

Glad you are all sorted for your holiday now dry.

Did your DS like his first taste of chocolate blair?

Hope your ankle is ok dream.

We had a nice week in Cornwall. It was a week of two halves. The first week was soooooo cold, then the latter part was one of the warmest visits we’ve ever had! I’m sporting a delightful red chest to prove it!!
O my about 6 weeks till our holiday, i’ve gor to step up the exercise as the mum tum is quite depressing at the moment. The DC also have so many Easter treats we could open a shop Hmm. I must avoid temptation! I keep trying to remember the famous Kate Moss quote about nothing tasting as good as how skinny feels, but I’m often half way through some chocolate before remembering it Grin. I don’t really need too much new summer stuff. However I did order the black version as well and just rebought the tan dune slides I had last year. Am still tempted by this Kate spade dress and I think there is an extra 20% off with april20 so I might just go for it.

Another lovely day here. Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi voguettes. We really need to fill up this thread-it doesn’t feel right that it’s the winter warmer edition!

I’ve had a fabulous few days. Girls weekend abroad and now this glorious sunshine at home. I did some shopping when abroad as money doesn’t count when you spend it on holiday does it Grin. Will try and find links later.

QueenCerise · 22/04/2019 17:59

My new purchases..
trainers...I’ve never really done white trainers but just fell in love with the braiding of these
blouse. H&M abroad always seems to feel less jumble sale like and there’s often lots I like despite rarely going in at home. I just loved the freshness of this.
trousers. I tried these for a laugh not expecting them to look good but actually I really liked them and they fitted well. I took a chance on them as not sure what tops they go with so I need to have a play around to find something with them that I like.

DryWhiteagainW · 22/04/2019 18:12

Nice buys QueenC.
I picked up these trousers from Zara the other day. Very flattering. Full length on me, good for work, may try with trainers and t shirt for casual.

QueenCerise · 22/04/2019 18:45

THeyre nice dry.
I forgot, I also bought these jeans. I also tried jeans on in Zara that fitted well so I’m going to try Zara/massimo again in the future as they seem to fit my shape well.

libertyonhertravels · 23/04/2019 08:57

Nice buys dry and QueenC. The H&M blouse is so pretty.

I am very, very bored with my wardrobe - can't spend too much so I have a question for you all as you pack away your winter wardrobes - what one item did you wear most this winter???

MarshaBradyo · 23/04/2019 09:38

My Maison peacoat, Etro huge scarf and Sorel boots. None new all a couple of years old or more - wore nearly every day.

Love what you bought Dry and QueenC

FedupNagging · 23/04/2019 14:02

Nice purchases Dry & Queen - very pretty blouse

Ouch Dream, that's sounds painful-hope it eases soon. Good luck with the low carbing

Everyone my sliders are still in good condition but I nearly bought them in black recently-I spent ages trying on so many different shoes, sandals & pumps that I ended up with nothing as couldn't make a decision 😂

Will have a think about your question Lib

DryWhiteagainW · 23/04/2019 15:46

My Zara red coat Liberty has been a great buy, I’ve worn it loads this winter.

Longislandicetee · 23/04/2019 16:56

My winter work staples this year have been my Burberry Brit coat that dh got me for Christmas about 3 years ago (although in the very cold weeks i lived in MaxMara cashmere coat), M&S Kids suede ankle boots, my Prada Saffiano Cuir Double bag, M&S petite long sleeve skater dress (which I have in 2 colours) and M&S petite blazers (in navy and black). I think it's me all over. A happy mix of designer, kids wearGrinwith a bit of high street thrown in.

I think my casual wear staple has been my J Crew matchstick jeans. Much beloved and couldn't wear them AW17/18 because I was carrying the extra surgery pounds.

Of the above only the boots and bag are new! Which judging by the other responses to date, is why the winter edition of mnv is still going after 4 months!Grin

MarshaBradyo · 23/04/2019 17:18

True Blingy!

Dream I meant to say I did that to my ankle argh for you Sad how’s it feeling? Did you do an X-ray? I didn’t in the end

Everyone I really like the Kate Spade very pretty

Don’t you hate it when you’re off with an online order agh I bought a tee pee for dd and it’s so cumbersome and annoying to put up, not helped by the other dc saying whhhy did you buy this?? Ripped the box opening it not sure I can return

DryWhiteagainW · 23/04/2019 21:00

4 months Shock it’s a record! Remember the days the thread went so fast it was hard to keep up.
I’ve definitely been buying less (not last month) , maybe we’ve all got our wardrobes sorted.

DryWhiteagainW · 23/04/2019 21:11

these are lovely.......

QueenCerise · 23/04/2019 21:50

I think I used to fill the threads up with Sunday morning shopping but the latest fashions just don’t seem to inspire me anymore.

Good question lib...
Was really pleased with my whistles navy coat. Didn’t wear it a huge amount but always felt fab when I did.
Wore my dinosaur jumper loads.
Grey top shop jeans were wore much more than I initially thought I would.
Ash virgins-old but they get comments most times I wear them and I love them.
Gap navy patterned blouse and a second female navy blouse-both old but essentials in my winter wardrobe.

QueenCerise · 23/04/2019 21:51

everyone that kate spade is lovely and very you.

Longislandicetee · 23/04/2019 22:00

I have said this before but.... I do think life moves in 3-ish year cycles, so each decade can be split into early, middle and late 30s/40s/50s etc. And I think your style changes in each of those phases because life changes. I also wonder whether it takes time to “find yourself” in each phase and after that you’re happy. Till your life moves on again. I also think the adjustments between the phases aren’t as big in your 40s.

I think most of us are in the “middle” of the 40s and maybe have found a style that suits that phase, and maybe it all starts changing again?

Having said that...might be rubbish because quite a few of us have also had big life changes. Marsha, Blair and Bernice had babies, QueenC changed jobs, Lib changed countries, Stokey and Lib are in midst of renovation money pits and I had surgery and put on weight, so those are the real curbs on our spending.Grin

QueenCerise · 23/04/2019 22:10

I got the cefinn catalogue sent through today (they obviously don’t know their target market very well!). But if I had the money and lifestyle, there were a few things I loved...
this dress and this dress andd this one

QueenCerise · 23/04/2019 22:14

I also got sent the crew one (I obviously haven’t unticked some box somewhere to allow other companies to contact me) and thought this dress was pretty.

MarshaBradyo · 23/04/2019 22:33

Blingy love your post. I think I buy stuff to keep for longer these days so fewer gaps also I can’t think of the last time I wore real heels. Those Rossi I used to buy?! No chance atm

But biggest issue is the mess of a toddler when it comes to food and not wanting to ruin ££ stuff. I hope to get back into it more when I go out more.

Dh loves the teepee all is well. Top tip text and say oh no about something and they’ll convince you to keep it - contrarily

MarshaBradyo · 23/04/2019 22:34

Nice QueenC unfortunately Sam Cam puts me off not that I’m the target market either

libertyonhertravels · 24/04/2019 03:45

I love the Cefinn turquoise maxi but like Marsha I'm not a Sam Cam fan and her lazy, feckless, irresponsible, entitled husband can fuck right off

Great post blingy. It has been a full on couple of years for quite a few of us and naturally we've all had less time, money, inclination etc for fashion.

Dry thanks for reminding me about the red Zara coat. I have the camel version, I might get the red too. I also need new jeans . I'm hoping the ensuite and wardrobe get finished this week then I can retrieve my clothes from the various bags and boxes they are in and do a sort out.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 24/04/2019 06:52

hmmm, i think my hardest workers this winter have been a couple of pairs of cheap jeans and a couple of cheap hoodies from primark (oh the glamour Grin ) except for of course, my thermal tights which have taken a real hammering. My coat (long, grey, wool and cashmere mix courtesy of M&S) has done well to last another winter as well though i think i will replace that this year as it's just starting to look a bit tired now. I have had about four years out of it so i'm happy enough with that. Thinking practically though, i do need something with a hood now for wearing in my chair

DryWhiteagainW · 24/04/2019 08:40

I always liked Sam Cam’s clothes. Lib your views on her DH nmadecme chuckle. Haven’t heard of CEfinn but I do like the look of those dresses you linked QC.

I haven’t spent much, or been on here as often because I’ve been studying in the evenings. Now have my qualification and a new job starting in September Smile

Obviously (you know me) this will necessitate new purchases (top of the list is a handbag of course!!!! And GHDs as I’ll have to get up earlier so will need to sort hair out more efficiently Grin ).......on yes and a laptop which is boring......

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 24/04/2019 08:51

congratulations on the new job Dry Thanks and well done for slogging through a new qualification!

I have a follow up neurology appointment, so i'll have been seen twice before my original appointment even was! it turns out, i have two neurological problems not one and there's need for input from several other specialists so there's going to be a lot of hospital and gp appointments from now on but i'm just grateful someones finally listening and taking me seriously instead of fobbing me off with excuses instead of actually listening to what i was saying.

Hope you are okay Shop, how is your DF doing? Thanks

DryWhiteagainW · 24/04/2019 09:21

Thanks One. Gosh, you are amazing to keep so positive, must be so hard. I really hope they find a way of helping you. Xxx

Ott.....not done this for ages.
Khaki chinos
Cream fitted Breton with orange stripe
Zara orange boiled wool fitted blazer (sounds awful!!!)...ols, but I love it
White trainers.
