Christmas and the sales are sadly over but winter is still here for a few months yet.

Come and show us your cosy knits and woolly hats whilst we dream of summer - everyone welcome, the more the merrier.

I've never been on a cruise before One but how about taking some dresses/jumpsuits that can be dressed up or down? And some amazing shoes of course :) then you can see how you feel at the time?

Marsha glad you had a good break, it looked lovely :)

Booskina I ordered something from Galleria Armadoro and it's arrived! It's this ring which is a great dupe of these Spinelli Kilcollin rings that I love. Just a shame they'd sold out of the yellow gold, but fingers crossed they'll bring them back.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 15/04/2019 14:40

Jumpsuits are a good call blair i'll start having a look for some. I have some nice but casual skirts and dresses that i think will be okay, i just can't decide about the formal nights. It sounds kinda nice i guess but i don't know if i'll be too tired and hot and bothered to go through all the fuss of proper dressing up!

DryWhiteagainW · 16/04/2019 13:32

Wooooooooahhhhhhh

Did you say “cruise” One?

Right....

I’ve only been on one and you may remember that we were the family who (all) exceeded our baggage allowance Grin.

Depends who you are going with. We went with R Caribbean . For formal nights the Brits dressed up (DJs and cocktail dresses....I took one full length because I love dressing up, and one cocktail dress....think the DJs and dress shoes were what tipped the scales!) but we noticed the US passengers did not dress as formally, chinos etc.
Formal nights aren’t compulsory.
For evenings you can wear what you want depending on how big your ship is. Check if there are several reastaurants because on ours only the formal dining room had a dress code (not enforced) and that was definitely casual/smart.....infact it was basically no shorts or flip flops.
On a Greek Island Cruise you may well have a White night. Ours was a. Med cruise and there was one (when we got to Greece) but we didn’t go because we are from Up North and don’t do that sort of thing Grin.
Over all I took dresses and a couple of pencil skirts with vest tops and one pair of silver high heeled sandals that went with most things.
I really wouldn’t stress though because we found that anything goes and there will be a place/ restaurant that will suit however you fancy dressing.
Have a great time.

DryWhiteagainW · 16/04/2019 13:33

Oh and the ship will be air conditioned so you’ll be nice and cool

DryWhiteagainW · 16/04/2019 13:35

And this year, judging by my shopping, we may well be that family again, exceeding the baggage allowance Grin

DryWhiteagainW · 16/04/2019 13:36

It’s 32k...biggest ever

MarshaBradyo · 16/04/2019 13:54

32kg what are you taking?! Grin

Blingy any advance? Wink

MarshaBradyo · 16/04/2019 13:55

I suppose I was 23kg just me to Aus

Makes a difference if it’s two weeks

MarshaBradyo · 16/04/2019 13:57

And dd

Ignore me basically I just realised I completely wing luggage weight

DryWhiteagainW · 16/04/2019 14:25

Many many shoes prob Marsha

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 17/04/2019 15:58

i'm not sure what my luggage allowance is, i better find out. I think i'm going to get a few jumpsuits to try as suggested by blair i've got plenty of skirts/dresses/t-shirts/blouses and i have plenty of shoes though i might need a fancier pair if we do formal night as i don't really have anything dressy and im guessing dr marten boots won't fly Grin

also, I bought some tights from SNAG and OMG, best tights ever, long enough, plenty of room, no pinching, no bagging , no sliding down or pulling at funny angles when you bend or sit. would recommend

DryWhiteagainW · 17/04/2019 19:34

This dress has arrived. I’m thrilled. It fits like a glove and is fabulous quality. Tailored to prrfection without being clingy, feels classy and expensive (it was before sale) beautiful quality and great CS....so much so that I’ve ordered the dark navy. Hope this little business makes it because I love the dress.
Now I need an occasion........

Lovely Dry! I had a quick look but I'm not sure I need any more work dresses that are that level of smart.

What's everyone got planned for the long weekend? Not much here, will just be lounging in the garden BBQing with friends :)

libertyonhertravels · 19/04/2019 09:53

I'm in the Catlins - a stunning part of South Island NZ for tonight. Just had a lovely day, gorgeous dinner, good wine and lounging now in the hotel room relaxing. The tiler has opted to work over long weekend while we are away so hoping to get home to a close to finished kitchen.

One as others have said cruises are very casual. I did a Med one a few years ago. Dressed up one night for dinner.

Gorgeous dress dry. Very you.

I'm trying not to shop and save instead for a splurge in London when I'm over - getting close now.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 19/04/2019 11:36

i think i'm going to skip the formal night, i just feel like i won't really get much out of it and tbh, i'd rather just be relaxing rather than fussing about am i dressed right! I might take one slightly dressier outfit just in case i change my mind though!

Isn't the weather glorious today?! woke up this morning with the sun streaming through the window warming my face and it was lovely Smile

Longislandicetee · 19/04/2019 11:44

Sounds awesome Lib Smile

FedupNagging · 21/04/2019 08:02

Happy Easter gorgeous voguettes; what are you all up to today? We're doing lunch and Easter egg hunt for all the dc's and dgc's which will be chaotic, exhausting and fun!

Am loving the weather this weekend-so nice to wear some different clothes-last night I wore the blue flowery whistles dress with heeled espadrilles and today will probably wear the Hush skirt although actually trousers might be better for chasing small people around!

Happy Easter everyone!

Have a lovely day about to do Waster Egg hunt they’re very keen!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 21/04/2019 11:16

happy easter everyone!

doing a pass through of my clothes again and finding stuff than go to charity again. Some things i don't think ive ever worn so if i don't wear them over this summer,t hey'll get donated. I'm tired of hanging onto things 'just in case' i don't have a fancy life, i don't need to dress swish or fancy. Comfy and casual is what i need so anything that doesn't fit that brief is surplus to requirements right now. I can always buy something if i do need to be a bit fancier cant i!!

Dreamqueen · 21/04/2019 11:27

Happy Easter MNV,

We're out for lunch, planning on wearing white linen cropped trousers and white top with leopard flat shoes. Since tumbling down the stairs 2 weeks ago my ankle is still in pain. Monday is the begining of low carb for me, need to drop some (a lot) of lbs.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 21/04/2019 12:11

Happy Easter voguettes Smile🐣

Oh no Dream that sounds so painful, hope it's better soon Thanks

We have been painting our conservatory and did a bbq yesterday with friends, so today looks like a chilled one. DS is a bit young for an egg hunt but had his first taste of chocolate earlier. Have a lovely day everyone!

DryWhiteagainW · 21/04/2019 21:28

Gosh, I feel as if I’ve been on holiday today. So warm, all windows open.....reading on my deck chair ....heaven! AND more to come.
Happy Easter everyone.

Well, I’ve done an inventory of my summer holiday clothes (counted about 9 dresses, new and old, I can take for evenings!) I can officially say.....I DO NOT NEED any more holiday clothes. Dry is done.

DryWhiteagainW · 21/04/2019 21:30

Just seen your accident Dream take it easy, leg up tomorrow in the sunshine!

Longislandicetee · 22/04/2019 08:47

Happy Easter Voguettes! What a terrific weekend! (except for poor you Dream, I hope you're fully recoveredThanks)

Two days of fabulous bbqs, one with my uni friends (the 14 of us who go back almost 30 years now!) and one with family. Gorgeous food and company.Smile

S&B wise nothing to report. I have had an infectious sebaceous cyst and so in addition to antibiotics my doctor suggested that i have Epsom salt baths. Not a big bath person (no time!) so i have been doing home made Epsom Salt Scrubs pre-shower. They're great and apparently very good for you.

We are having a relaxing day at home today with another bbq. Dh already gone for a run and i might eventually shift out of my bed and go for one too when he gets back.

Hope everyone has a lovely Easter Monday!
