Christmas and the sales are sadly over but winter is still here for a few months yet.

Come and show us your cosy knits and woolly hats whilst we dream of summer - everyone welcome, the more the merrier.

Grin dry, you love your summer shopping! Nice Bardot dress. Looks like it will be useful and possible to dress up / down. I’m not sure about the Boden shorts either. And as you say, trying them on with pasty white legs doesn’t help!

Sounds like you had a nice day with your DM fedup. You should crop the white jeans!

Hope you had a nice holiday dream.

There are so many sales on at the moment! I keep feeling panicked that I need to get a bargain, but there just doesn’t seem to be anything I particularly like / want / need. I’m also desperate for some warmer weather. So sick of being cold and wearing the same stuff on repeat....

DryWhiteagainW · 24/03/2019 09:52

Actually Everyone I don’t really like summer clothes that much. I just have the pressure of staying in a hotel for 2 weeks rather than the more relaxed self catering we normally do, with a friend who packs for 6 and always looks amazing.......

kittyhello · 24/03/2019 18:24

Shop big hugs Flowers

Dry & Every have you thought about trying

Bude shorts or

Paperbag shorts
I think the Paperbag ones were called Cora last year and they are very flattering. I normally wear Chino shorts which have some stretch in them but due to an increase in pounds are a little tight on me at the moment. Cora or Paperbag ones as they are now called are much more forgiving and are very flattering.

Nice DP dresses Dry and Blair

Blingy did you buy the Alaia bag?

Marsha the wallet doesn't seem very you, great price on those jeans.

Has anyone cracked open their s/s wardrobe yet? I wore a Bréton today with cropped raw edge jeans and ballet flats - felt good not to wear chunky and drab colour clothing. Long may it continue.

Crappy news - Marsha and Lib I can no longer come to the July MU, dh has just booked his annual jolly with his mates for the 4th July - grr. Sad

DryWhiteagainW · 24/03/2019 20:42

Kitty I like the Bude but I need black.

kittyhello · 24/03/2019 21:07

Dry I need black ones too. I've ordered Paperbag and Bude in navy, I may just order chino shorts again in black but in a bigger size. I have them in white, navy and black; the white and black are snug but the navy fit fine. Sadly the navy and black ones have seen better days. Blush

DryWhiteagainW · 24/03/2019 21:13

I meant ”need” of course Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 25/03/2019 09:42

My DP dress is going back, it is actually really nice fabric (stretch cotton jersey that wasn't wrinkled at all when it arrived) but just doesn't suit me. DH said it looked like a little girl's dress Hmm but it does on me - I just don't suit those sort of puff sleeve or prairie style dresses. I think it might suit Everyone though.

Also did a Uniqlo order and I'm only keeping this jumper which annoyingly is £10 cheaper than when I ordered. It's cropped and such an unusual shape, the waistband can be adjusted to sit where you like. Sending back this linen dress which looked hilarious unbelted, and even with a belt the fabric was too "natural" for the smart style (for me), also this knit dress which I thought might be good for work, but was way too short and also flared from under the boobs rather than the waist, I looked short and wide Grin

Sometimes it's quite reassuring to try things that don't suit you, as then you know that the things you don't get that "get it off me!" feeling about must actually suit you!

MarshaBradyo · 25/03/2019 22:23

I feel good about sending stuff back if it’s not right. I think being on here really helps. If I can’t link it with my heart in it, it goes back!

DryWhiteagainW · 25/03/2019 23:01

Agree with that too. I impulse ordered a dress from Next last week, went to collect, saw it on rail, hated it, returned it immediately without even taking out of the bag ......felt great

libertyonhertravels · 26/03/2019 09:26

Oh no kitty Sad

Very quick check in. Just had a weekend in Auckland. Lots of catching up with friends so not much shopping time. Bought some paperbag style trousers in Zara and lots of stuff for DD. Stocked up on skincare stuff including some Drunk Elephant Vit C serum and a trial pack of Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Daily Peel. Will report back if glowing wrinkle free skin emerges Smile

Everyonelovessparkles · 26/03/2019 14:30

Thanks for the short recommendations kitty. I’ve sent back the Richmond ones.

Shame about the DP dress blair. I know what your DH means, smocking / shirring can sometimes be difficult to pull off without looking like a child’s dress. It was pretty though. Sounds like your Uniqlo order was a bit hit and miss too. I completely agree with you in that it is reassuirng to know what suits you, there are some things you put on that just feel ‘right’ instantly. Whenever I have a doubt now, I generally return the item as I know I will always end up choosing something else over it.

look forward to hearing your skin care report lib. I could do with a Miracle eye wrinkle zapper!! Sounds like you had a good time in Auckland. Hope you’re feeling better within yourself as well.

I keep coming back to this Summer dress as think it could be a useful buy. It’s the only thing recently that has caught my eye.

Longislandicetee · 26/03/2019 20:49

Hello all! I was in London today and happened to go past a Russell & Bromley. I wandered in and saw the mini Clara in yellow. Couldn’t resist.Grin So my should I get this bag or that bag question....yeah ended up with bothBlush.

To be fair, it’s been one of those 24 hours that’s been hard. I had a colonoscopy, which is seriously gross! Dh said only I would prepare for it by getting extra candles for the bathroom.Grin

Loving the summer dress talk, definitely keen to do an overhaul for our May holiday. Those lovely Bardot dresses look awful on me though. I envy anyone who looks good in them!!

littleredlipstick · 27/03/2019 07:22

So looking forward to perusing the spring summer clothes now the weather is improving.
I'm on the look out for some new wedges/sandals for this year as DH has bought me a Cult Gaia arc handbag as part of my Mother's Day present.

Looking for a wooden wedge to match, but knowing my luck I won't find any this year but will be told there were loads last year!

FedupNagging · 28/03/2019 08:20

I'm so pleased you bought the yellow mini Clara Blingy -it was my favourite out of all your bag links. You definitely needed a bit of cheering up after your appointment. Hope it's nothing serious.

Will be sorry not to see you at the MU Kitty

Talking of sending things back, I did wonder about returning the jigsaw cardigan but wore it yesterday so too late Grin.

Ive been wearing the pleated skirt a fair bit recently and experimenting with different tops and footwear but jumpers and flatforms work the best and indeed received 2 compliments in one day this week-always good for confidence boosting. Need some warmer weather so I can wear the new Hush pleated skirt with trainers.

I liked the Bardot dress you purchased Dry-yes yes to the pressure of hotel dressing (would that was the only problem life threw at us!!). We stayed in a really nice hotel earlier this month (took me ages to pack) and people went from very casual to dresses and heels in the pm.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 28/03/2019 10:29

Fedup I forgot to say, yes it was me with the sainsburys lemon dress. It was £1 after my nectar points, such a good buy Grin That's good about the jigsaw cardigan, always a sign if you want to wear something right away.

Blingy you definitely deserve the bag, hope all is OK :)

littlered that's a lovely mother's day present! I think most wedges will be espadrille type this year but they would still go really well.

Everyone that dress is really nice, you could definitely wear it more than just on holiday like a lot of summer dresses.

I had a big deadline at work yesterday and it's all done, so I feel a bit of a spree coming on Grin

DryWhiteagainW · 28/03/2019 22:08

Ok all ....what are the “it” trainers at the mo? Veja everywhere.....are they the ones?

MarshaBradyo · 28/03/2019 22:24

The big chunky ones?

Dh is at an awards do in tux and a bow tie drinking heartily lucky sausage. I’ve just finished watching Pose, loved it.

MarshaBradyo · 28/03/2019 22:25

I mean the latest trend is the chunky ones I think, Veja are v popular too

justasecond · 28/03/2019 23:23

Marsha I am still in trainer confusion. I have heard Veja are uncomfortable. I have tried to post a pic of me trying the sandro chunky ones a couple of times but don't know where my posts go Confused Db says they look like a trodden on bar of twix (I work with him and sometimes make the mistake of asking his opinion). I also tried some golden goose and really liked them. It was a less distressed style www.matchesfashion.com/products/Golden-Goose-Ballstar-low-top-leather-trainers-1244700. They have a hidden wedge which makes them look more flattering and comfortable. I could get them for about a third off at Bicester. Part of me thinks they are a bit instamum though.? Prob more wearable in my neck of the woods though.
Blingy hope all is ok Flowers the yellow bag is lovely and perfect for spring.
Lib will be interested to hear what you think of Drunk Elephant.
fedup pleated skirt looks sound great
everyone the kate spade dress in lovely. I think you could get a lot of wear from it. Btw I did spend my LK bennet voucher, no shoes I liked so I bought dm a bag instead. I find their shoes really uncomfortable.
blair shame about the red dress. Look forward to seeing what you get in your spree!
dry khaki dress is a good find. You are so organised with your holiday shopping!

No other fashion news. Like the rest of the country, sick of Brexit.

shopafrolic · 29/03/2019 09:32

Just a quickie. I have these Veja and they have given me blisters at the heel. They are quite stiff and have not softened quickly. I love the look of them on but find myself avoiding wearing them. The heel cup at the back is a little low and the black bit above is very flimsy so they move and rub. Personally I wouldn't buy this style again but I love their eco credentials so would try others perhaps.
Hope everyone is well. In the process of looking at nursing homes for DF which is a great relief but very sad - not least because he thinks we are "trying to get rid of him" Sad

FedupNagging · 29/03/2019 10:05

Dry for some reason these Loewe sneakers have been following me around the internet. No amount of discount would make me purchase

There is a definite trend towards chunkier trainers similar in style to NB's around atm but I prefer the shape/style of stans, golden goose etc.

Difficult times Shop Flowers

Marsha I'm in need for a new series to watch so will check that out later as have a mahoosive pile of ironing to do. Am very late to the drag party but have been transfixed with Ru Paul drag race - some fabulous outfits and makeup. How's dh's head today?

Fedup I clicked, now they’ll be following me ShockGrin

He seems quite chipper considering, got home late after Jaeger bombs, theirs won so his client was really happy. My old (big name global) employer was there, they didn’t win anything ;

Shop Flowers

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/03/2019 10:23

Shop they're the only Vejas I've seen that I like, so it's good to know they probably aren't as comfy as my Stans. Glad to hear things are moving forward with DF - it is sad but I'm sure once things are settled he will be happier and you will be much less stressed. Flowers

Justa those GGs are really nice and would definitely suit you! Lol at squashed Twix trainers though Grin

MarshaBradyo · 29/03/2019 10:25

Justa I like those GG
