I'm calling it! You know the rules, wear a different lipstick every day this month. (I love this and look forward to it every year.) Has it been a year already? Shock I've been buying make-up (again) and have some lippies I need to get through! I'm not wearing anything at the moment, that will change come morning though. Smile

Derelict I would start with sheer formulations to get used to colour and maybe a MLBB shade. My obsession was triggered by a Clinique chubby sticks gift set. I took it on holiday and made myself wear every colour.

DerelictWreck · 08/01/2019 21:55

Sorry, What's an MLBB shade?

Colouring wise my hair is like a honey brown (pic) I have very blue eyes and am a yellow/reddy skin tone I think!

Without really knowing my guess would be matte as a preference as it seems a bit more understated

DerelictWreck · 08/01/2019 21:56

Oops, pic would help

MLBB = My Lips But Better. A shade that closely matches your natural lip shade

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 08/01/2019 22:19

Love the necklace Ichi. Great colour too.
I missed yesterday due to travelling for work. Didn’t get the Mac lipsticks but may go back for them!
Today is Kiko 03 from Mini divas range last year. I’m sure it was recommended by this group last year! Or even 2 years ago.

derelict I totally recommend wearing at home so you’re used to your reflection before you brave it. But once you try it, you’ll love it! I always feel like I can take on anything with the right lipstick. Start with something moist (ugh word) so it feels comfy and work up. The world’s your oyster!

Can I crash? My new year's resolution was to wear lipstick every day. I've failed today but wasn't going anywhere so didn't worry too much about it. I can't guarantee a different shade every day though

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 08/01/2019 22:54

Yes come join gast although I promise you’ll leave with a list of must-tries!

Here was yesterday’s; Mac Twig. So lovely MKBb!

Today (well, technically yesterday now) I wore B cosmetics matte lipstick in Risky Business and Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Control. Risky Business is bright orange, Control is bright blue, and although is a Cream formula actually feels quite firm and almost dry, but in a good way, if that makes any sense? Means I can apply it in a straight line!

Isn't that beautiful? ❤

Ooo a lipstick thread! I also don’t have enough lipsticks to contribute a whole month (plays tiny violin), but will try to remember to post a pic tomorrow. Am following and screenshotting recommendations Grin

LesAnya · 09/01/2019 02:11

And Sapphire that is a beautiful blue. And a good formula too by the sounds of it, which is always a good thing

BusterGonad · 09/01/2019 02:50

I'm battling with myself today to not buy 2 Revlon matt balms in Striking and Unapologetic! They are on offer and I WANT WANT WANT!

SapphireSeptember · 09/01/2019 11:50

Buster I have both of those! And they're both really good! And they smell of peppermint. Grin

Anya I love Urban Decay's formulas, out of the ones I've tried so far (comfort matte, mega matte, cream and metalized.) The mega matte especially, as I was pleasantly surprised at how nicely it applies. Smile There's a reason they're lipstick page is bookmarked. Grin

Sapphire I've had them both before, twice! Every time I move abroad I give away my make up, then every time I get settled a buy more!!! For some reason it's always these pencils I go for!

BusterGonad · 09/01/2019 13:15

I give away my drug store make up, not my Marc Jacobs, Mac etc...

LesAnya · 09/01/2019 17:13

Today I’m wearing Hourglass “my one desire” from their 2017 Holiday trio. It’s a lovely consistency, non drying and lasts fairly well (in that I don’t notice it fade).

princessbear80 · 09/01/2019 21:21

So many lovely lipsticks! Especially that Hourglass one les.

I repeated my L’Oréal beamy plum intentionally yesterday as I don’t have 31 to choose from, then repeated it today by accident as I was in too much of a rush and it was already in my handbag.

Today my set of five EL ones arrived. I think three of them are hits. So I’ll wear and post something new tomorrow Smile

I was browsing in Boots at the Clinique Pop lipsticks. I wanted to see the poppy one but it’s definitely not for me. If I do buy one, it’ll be the plum pop one. But that’ll have to wait I’ve already bought six lipsticks so far in Jan!! No more until payday now.

StatisticallyChallenged · 09/01/2019 21:28

clinique website had some great sale deals, including a set of the pops which I grabbed. It's now sold out but I also grabbed this

chubby

no lippies for me last two deals as been dealing with a post vaccination whingey 3 month old. bleurgh

shewholikeslipstick · 09/01/2019 21:40

This is today's:?Rimmel's 'shoulder pads' stay satin. Feels a little on the dry side but stays on well.
Love all the inspiration on this thread, favourite is the Bobby Brown Rose berry so far.

Buster I think a repurchase is in order!

No lippy for me today, I have a cold and my lips have turned into the Sahara. Lots of lipbalm instead. I've been using Maybelline Baby Lips Sport in Poolside Pink.

Pure colour envy in rebellious rose. Same as PP from EL Xmas gift set. Great.

Get well soon Sapphire lips!

Appreciate that last 3 lips all look identical. They’re really not. Just terrible photos! Tonight’s is on sleeper train! Very poor light.

SapphireSeptember · 10/01/2019 00:40

Thanks Pinkie! I've just used John Maclean's method for getting rid of flaky bits (when my lips get really dry they peel Sad ) and they're feeling a bit less awful.

I'm now sitting here wondering if 1:00 am is a good time to go to Tesco... Then I can sleep all day, instead of going to bed, then waking up and going out, then going back to bed for a bit.

OP posts:
BusterGonad · 10/01/2019 01:10

Go to Tesco sapphire, is it a good one with make up??? 😂

LesAnya · 10/01/2019 01:28

Oh no Sapphire! Would a gentle lip scrub help them? I find using the stuff formerly called Blisteze (metal tube) on mine helps when they’re bad. Stings a bit going on but helps in the medium to long term. And go to Tesco if it will help!

LesAnya · 10/01/2019 01:29

And pinkie the support for the EL set is not helping! I’m trying to have a no spend month 😂🙈

SapphireSeptember · 10/01/2019 03:51

Buster Their range of Maybelline stuff is impressive, they have more than our Boots and Superdrug combined! Apart from that there's not a lot. Needs more make-up!

Anya Ooh, I've got some of that somewhere, thanks! The other thing I like is lip balm with tea tree oil in it, to zap any nasty viruses that I know like to come out and play when I'm run down, which I'm trying to avoid. The last coldsore I had was of epic proportions and drove me mad, but actually cleared up quite quickly because I threw everything at it. (Witch hazel, tea tree oil, Zovirax and Blistex, although I miss the Boots coldsore lotion that was a clear liquid in a little glass bottle, that dried them out in a day or two. They discontinued it, the bastards.) That was an epic monologue. Grin

I decided against a midnight stroll because it's cold and dark and I was a bit worried about bumping into undesirables (honestly I'm less scared when mooching around London late at night.) The walk to Tesco is on a long and lonely path and feels a bit dodgy even in the daytime (quite high up and has bushes on either side, so hard to escape.) The people who designed this part of town were clearly on an acid trip. Hmm
