Previous thread.

And let's stick to critiquing the outfits rather than the wearer!

Camilla’s outfits - some great ones there

My husband has a coat and scarf similar styles to William and is constantly faff-arsing around trying to get the scarf to stay in the coat.

I’ve got a scarf that however you style it always winds up label out, which makes me slightly stabby.

My point, scarves are pesky little fuckers that make you wonder why you bloody bothered.

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/12/2018 10:29

OH! It was my turn to have a royal dream last night. William and Meghan came over for tea (she was wearing the green shirt and leather skirt combo) and told me there was no truth in the rumours that they were feuding.

So there you go - Queen dreamed it so it must be true!

Did scarves feature Queen? I think there absence would be indicative of overall peace, love and happiness.

TSSDNCOP · 28/12/2018 10:31

Their Hmm

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/12/2018 10:39

Not a scarf in sight @TSSDNCOP!

Empirical research right there.

What will be our next theory to resolutely disprove? We could hire this thread out as an Anti-Fail device.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 28/12/2018 10:51

Quite TSS

user1457017537 · 28/12/2018 10:57

Well one things for sure they don’t look like happy bunnies.

Clankboing · 28/12/2018 11:01

The Queen pairs up with Andrew lots since Philip retired. I always thought it was because Andrew is not in a pair (ie Sarah does not normally accompany him as they are apart in theory) and so Andrew accompanies the Queen. If you watch them during various family functions, Andrew pairs up with her, assists her. Saying that I've noticed that he generally seems very gentlemanly (regardless of all the dodgy rumours).

beanaseireann · 28/12/2018 11:03

I love Camillas pink coat in that link IpromiseIwontbenaughty.
Does anyone know what brand it is ?
Though it's probably bespoke

TSSDNCOP · 28/12/2018 11:05

Oh for goodness sakes User, they look absolutely fine. They can’t walk around in public with hangers in their mouths so that every shot is a ear splitting grin.

The PP may have had a good point. If William had popped in on Prince P just before church he may well not have been on sunshine mode. But it’s all just idle speculation based on the glimpses we see isn’t it?

TSSDNCOP · 28/12/2018 11:06

Bean I liked the stripe skirt dress.

Camilla seems to be working very hard and appears very well received at her engagements.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 28/12/2018 11:11

Also IMO Camilla was more villified than Meghan is. She’s certainly won the press round.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 28/12/2018 11:18

You can’t have a better example of turning the press around than Camilla.

beanaseireann · 28/12/2018 11:23

Camilla hasn't won me around. Diana was only 20 and Camilla didn't give a s*it about being available to Charles.
When I see pictures of Camilla I am reminded of the Charles - Camilla Tampax conversation.
I've no time for Charles and Camilla.

TSSDNCOP · 28/12/2018 11:25

I think many people may still feel the same bean. Then I look at the glimpses we see of William and Harry with her and I think if they can do it....

AhoyDelBoy · 28/12/2018 11:29

Tell us how you really feel beanaseireann Grin. I don’t know what the ‘C&C Tampax conversation’ was exactly but, based on my own imagination, I don’t think I want to know. I’m not Camilla’s No.1 fan but looking at the link shared above she rarely gets it wrong on the fashion front. Maybe because she’s older she can’t be accused of dressing matronly.

katekat383 · 28/12/2018 11:30

Triglesoffy

It’s not very kind to describe Prince Philip as being “on his last legs”. I hope you can see how odd it is to be concerned about the finer feelings of Meghan or the others, but to dismiss someone else in that way.

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/12/2018 11:39

@AhoyDelBoy The full transcript is quite something.

Apologies for breaking the thread rule of critiquing style and not the wearers.

TSSDNCOP · 28/12/2018 11:42

Ahoy I think age nails it; the opaque tights, colours/prints and a liberal overdoing of the diamonds. Plus whoever does Camilla’s hair get it absolutely right.

I’m sure she yearns for a cashmere pulley and 30 year old slacks at Rayburn, but she’s going from strength to strength in public.

Her wedding dress, hairpiece and flowers were simply beautiful.

NancyHoHoHo · 28/12/2018 11:51

I'm in danger of outing myself here but I've been lurking so I'll stick my head above the parapet here...

Some years ago I landed a job with a charity. Camilla had recently become heavily involved with this charity. At the time C&C were a couple, they'd made their first public appearance but they weren't yet married.

Although I was going to maintain professionalism privately as it hadn't been many years since the death of Diana I was firmly pro Diana and anti Camilla.

As it happened I worked directly with Camilla a few times, as I said she was heavily involved with the charity and wanted to have input.

In person I found her to be lovely. Funny, charming, clever, interesting, she didn't dismiss anyone or their ideas, she was thoughtful and kind too. Try as I might I have nothing but positive things to say about her.

Whilst I still feel discomfort at the treatment Diana received I think any blame lies with Charles and the rest of the RF.

That aside, I do think that as time has gone on and more facts about the marriage of C & D have emerged I don't think it's a simple case of one person doing one wrong thing, IMO it was a collective screw up.

If you asked me now whether I consider myself to be 'team Diana' or 'team Camilla' my answer would have to be both, I'm afraid. It's easy to demonise one or the other, the press have revelled in doing this for years but the truth is a far more complex story IMO.

NancyHoHoHo · 28/12/2018 11:53

Two heres in that first paragraph Confused

Queen thank you for that link to The Pool piece by Sali Hughes.
Should be required reading for anyone condemning MM.
