Posted yesterday about microblading.

Had a consultation today. It’s been on my mind to get it done for ages.

This is the planned end result, should I go ahead?

Honest opinions please.

Onviously before and ‘after’

I would do it OP. You won't look back!

itsbetterthanabox · 11/12/2018 13:24

I think your own brows tinted and shaped well would be better.
Leave them fully to grow- use a growth serum and then get a tint and shape somewhere good.

Raaaaaah · 11/12/2018 13:38

I find it bonkers that this is the new norm. They look fake. Why don’t we value normal anymore? It makes me really sad for my children that there is the expectation to be hairless or what hair you have has to be improved and perfected. But I realise I am not the majority and most people do think that it is important.

VenelopeVonSweetz · 11/12/2018 13:40

I prefer the top ones. I would love to have mine microbladed but apparently it’s not suitable for oily skin.

I say go for it OP

irnbruforlife · 11/12/2018 14:24

@venelopeVonsweetz, i have very very oily skin, never had a problem with my microbladed eyebrows.

VenelopeVonSweetz · 11/12/2018 15:00

Really? @irnbruforlife that’s good to hear. The people I have enquires with have always suggested cosmetic tattooed powder or ombré brows which I don’t like the look of on myself.

Roussette · 11/12/2018 15:15

I have never seen anyone who has had theirs done that I like. I know someone my age (old) who spent so much money on them at one of the best eyebrow people. I pretended I liked them but I really didn't, they looked false and noticeable.

Luckly my adult DDs have thick well shaped eyebrows and would not dream of going and having work done on them.

What, in the name of all that is holy, is ombré eyebrows? Two different colours??

GreyHare · 11/12/2018 15:21

For all the people on here saying grow your own out, the OP has said hers don't grow, mine don't either, one of mine has all but fallen out, so I had mine micro bladed, it has changed my life as I now have two eyebrows back again, haven't ever regretted it either, I say do it OP.

TheEmmaDilemma · 11/12/2018 15:23

Before you go ahead, try this:

www.glossier.com/products/boy-brow?locale=en-GB&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqPeSu4qY3wIViM13Ch2ulwU7EAQYASABEgKgF_D_BwE

Best thing I've used and it stopped me going that route.

TheEmmaDilemma · 11/12/2018 15:33

FYI I lost a bit of eyebrow due to scaring. What I recommended above fills it out for me.

But it's shit that as you get older they fail to grow back.

Don't let your children pluck to death!

OHolyNightOwl · 11/12/2018 15:45

But the OP has eyebrows!
I completely understand tattooing them if you have none, they are sparse or they are really bad..but the OP has nice normal eyebrows.

VenelopeVonSweetz · 11/12/2018 15:48

Ombré/powdered brow vs microblading

Ratterschnatter · 11/12/2018 15:50

Can't tell you how much I prefer your natural eyebrows!!!

Fashionista101 · 11/12/2018 16:19

Ehhh some of these replies are crazy! Definitely go ahead, without been rude your natural ones look totally neglected and unruly! They're not even a nice shape (tbf a good shape and tint would help). Honestly, something needs to be done. You'll look fresh and put together even without make up. Eyebrows really do frame your face!

Roussette · 11/12/2018 16:47

Bloody hell. The ombré ones... are absolutely awful. Look false, are like two furry caterpillars. Here's an image from a brow bar who do them... do people honestly think they look OK??

Maybe I'm just old and out of touch. My eyebrows are more sparse than they used to be, but I very carefuly add to them myself, they look natural and no way on god's earth would I go for these weird things they do in salons.

TheDowagerCuntess · 11/12/2018 17:09

The people posting pics of their own brows are not convincing people who don't think it looks good. They're only making them more sure that the fake, heavy, square edge looks wrong and, yes, dated.

And of course you've only had people say that they look good. Most people - women especially - wouldn't dream of saying they don't look nice, and will often even outright, convincingly lie (rather than say nothing at all), to be nice. We've all done it to a friend / colleague.

At the end of the day, if you like your heavy, square brows - and people talking to them instead of your eyes - that's all that matters.

Zoosie · 11/12/2018 17:43

I have to be honest, I feel like a bit of an ugly brute now!

I’ve been booked in to a local salon to get my eyebrows tinted and an eyelash tint and ask for their advice on how to pencil them.

I’m mortified that I have tadpole brows!😳

Could anyone suggest what sort of shape I should go for and what products I should be using?

VenelopeVonSweetz · 11/12/2018 17:54

@Roussette I understand that microbladed/ombré brows may not be your thing but you are coming across a tad rude. Your DDs are lucky that they have thick, well shaped brows but not everyone is, hence why there is a demand for microblading etc.

ExcitedForChristmas18 · 11/12/2018 18:03

Eyebrow tint won't solve it. It will only dye the hair you have. It won't fill in any gaps, or change the shape.
If you go to a reputable therapist, they will NOT look like two huge caterpillars on your face 🙄 the needles come in different sizes. If the smallest needle is used, they will be very small, fine lines. That look exactly like hair!
All these people haven't had them done by the sounds of it.
They will look nothing like your after photo!! That is a block of colour using an eyebrow pencil. Not extremely fine, individual lines.

OHolyNightOwl · 11/12/2018 18:05

Oh OP. Your eyebrows are not at all bad.

My eyebrows are super fine, a bit sparse, with bigger (natural and unplucked) gap between them than yours. I fill them in a tiny bit, but honestly would not do more unless I lost them.
I can't imagine having someone complimenting my eyebrows rather than my eyes. It just shows they immediately noticed the brows are fake.

Here, posting my shitty ones for people to bitch about instead.

Your eyebrows don't look neglected or unruly Confused

They look like the eyebrows of a human female. As they should. Not like heavy lines of colour that have been stencilled on by someone using a set square.

TheDowagerCuntess · 11/12/2018 18:19

All these people haven't had them done by the sounds of it.

We are going by pics people are posting of their own brows, and what we see walking down the street with our own eyes. Of course. Confused

And 'reputable therapist' - that's taking a chance.

CrookedMe · 11/12/2018 18:22

Of course we haven't had them done, we don't like them! And we see plenty of people who have had them done, so we have formed an opinion.

ExcitedForChristmas18 · 11/12/2018 18:24

Well it's not taking a chance is it. If she has seen all the therapists previous work, checked she does have all the right qualifications, how long she has been doing it for?

Some women do go overboard I agree! Some look ridiculous, but a good technician would not do them like those photos!
Most young girls these days do think they look good like that, I'm in total agreement they look fake and dreadful.
But the OPs won't look like that at all. You can see the shape the technician has recommended for the OPs face.

TheEmmaDilemma · 11/12/2018 18:25

@ Zoosie I don't work for the company I recommended above, promise.

But I've gone through pencils, powder, wax, WonderBrow (piss off) and many others.

That boy brow is the best thing I've found in like 5 years...
