Cautiously pleased with this one. Cautious because my skin is a bit temperamental with things like this.

Is it just me or is the bottle incredibly nice to hold? All smooth... Grin

Hi, I’m popping in to say that I bought the Liberty advent calendar consecutively for the past two years but didn’t this year. I still had product left so I bought the Decleor calendar instead. The Decleor items are TINY (ie only enough for two uses) so I genuinely feel that whilst the Liberty calendar is very expensive, it does contain many full sized items, ie the DrSebagh and the Votary oils which are £60 each to replace.

I’ll definitely get the Liberty one again next year.

I am not a sales rep, just a keen devotee now, especially after this year’s... I don’t want to say disappointment... but the Liberty one is definitely better value for money. Not sure about the vouchers though. I’d be sticking those straight in the bin.

Stitchosaurus · 11/12/2018 09:39

I’m quite oily and I’ve found this primer has given me a lot of shine...possibly a tad too much for me - but then I’ve read reviews that say it has a matte finish so maybe I just have weird skin!

It’s very easy to put on and hasn’t pilled under my make up so that’s good. Great size and rrp too!

Shame about the Decleor calendar but thanks for the heads up Rhubarb

chloechloe · 11/12/2018 09:51

Hello again tabbycats!

I’m pleased with today’s product - yes the bottle is lovely pinkysears!

That’s a shame about the Decleor calendar rhubarb. I had it last year and really liked it. I found that most of the products, whilst small, lasted quite a long time. Maybe they’re smaller sizes this year? I find that a lot of Decleor products (like the oils and thicker creams and balms) need warming up before you apply them but then a little goes a long way. I actually have the Decleor calendar again this year as I was so pleased with it, but I’m saving it for January!

Primer is amazing
This morning used votery moisturiser
Then the Ren primer, then my normal (cheap) foundation. Also used the eye stuff from last week.
Took a couple of minutes and the difference is quite astonishing!
I look better, skin looks like it belongs to my younger sister.
If I was brave I'd put a photo up.
But I am not brave.
I am sure it is the primer that has made the difference.
Brilliant product

Housewife2010 · 11/12/2018 10:38

I love this year's Liberty calendar. It's my third consecutive year. I loved my first year and wasn't quite as excited last year. I was going to give this year a miss but I'm so pleased I chose it. I love that they have most of the same brands every year, but usually a different product. I pored over the contents before ordering it but fortunately I've forgotten some of them now. I filled last year's calendar with chocolates for the children.

starsky22 · 11/12/2018 21:54

I'm looking forward to trying this, I always react to primers and tend to get a breakout around by chin/jaw line, I'm wondering if a silicone free primer will be better. Skin isn't great at the moment, probably from trying lots of new products, so will wait until it is clear before I give the primer ago, so I can tell if I am reacting to the primer or something else!

I am loving the votary cream, eye brightener and the powder, had all 3 on the other day and my skin looked amazing!

Not so fussed with the handcream and don't like the smell of the deodrant, so will have them available for swaps if anyone is interested.

santababyconvertible · 11/12/2018 22:22

I'm not fussed on the handcream either, or tomorrow's offering if anyone wants one of those to swap.

I like the deodorant so would be happy to buy or swap for it

Costacoffeeplease · 11/12/2018 23:04

Same goes for the toothpaste

chickydoo · 12/12/2018 07:25

Toothpaste? I got a gorgeous Bobby Brown lip gloss this morning.

santababyconvertible · 12/12/2018 07:28

Day 12- my Birthday Cake and a Bobbi Brown (my preferred make up brand) clear lip gloss!

Could be handy, I'm not really a lip gloss person (tend to get my hair stuck to it) but I'll give it a go eh.

I haven’t opened today’s yet but I’m guessing we all have a clear gloss? I would have preferred a neutral colored ine, but I guess they’re playing it safe with a suit-all shade?

It looks like some of your items are in the wrong boxes costa. I recall that happened last year too!

imp2007 · 12/12/2018 08:08

Ah Happy Birthday Santa and a massive thank you for starting this thread am loving it!! 😊

Costacoffeeplease · 12/12/2018 08:58

I don’t think so - I do have 3 calendars though so maybe I’m getting mixed up with which thread I’m on Grin

Costacoffeeplease · 12/12/2018 08:59

I doubt I’ll use the clear gloss if anyone else wants to swop (I am in Portugal though)

Stitchosaurus · 12/12/2018 09:02

There’s not toothpaste coming is there? Like I said up thread, I did check before buying but I’ve forgotten it all again now. Toothpaste is decidedly meh for a beauty calendar in my opinion so I hope that’s a typo!

I would have liked a coloured gloss too, but yes clear is probably safer for all - wore the gloss on the school run and thankfully it wasn’t windy so my hair wasn’t glued to it! Do love a lip gloss.

Happy birthday santa

Costacoffeeplease · 12/12/2018 09:33

There has been a toothpaste - maybe in one of my other calendars - and it’s FAB, I’ve already ordered a full size one. I don’t see why it isn’t considered as a beauty item - how many people get their teeth fixed or whitened?

chickydoo · 12/12/2018 09:45

I am really liking the big sizes of all the products. Nothing feels like a sample or small tester.
Very happy so far

Stitchosaurus · 12/12/2018 09:54

@costacoffeeplease it’s just how I feel about toothpaste I guess, that it’s a necessity but not exciting...so doesn’t feel luxurious enough for a beauty calendar. Liberty did have toothpaste in the calendar a couple of years ago and lots of people on here loved it then too. Just not me!

Costacoffeeplease · 12/12/2018 10:06

I would understand if it was a tube of Colgate Grin but this one is very different and does feel like a touch of luxury every day, so I’m converted

KTD27 · 12/12/2018 12:04

Not in love with a clear lip gloss I’m afraid. First meh moment for me. Up for a swap if anyone wants it

littlepooch · 12/12/2018 12:39

I'm not a lip gloss person - I prefer lipstick or lip pencil so will have this as a swap.
I will also have the hair stuff as a swap - I haven't opened it as I won't ever use it!

My faves are the powder and the eye concealer thingy so far. And the face wash

Costacoffeeplease · 12/12/2018 12:58

Looks like there will be lots of lip gloss for anyone who wants it Smile

imp2007 · 12/12/2018 22:11

Not massively excited about today's - might get passed onto DD. Who has tried the sheet mask? Not used mine yet may try at the weekend x
