Morning all! Come and join the gorgeously-scented chat!

Today I smell of lavender, woodsmoke and cinnamon biscuits, in Another Kiss By The Fireside.

SOTD Sarah Ireland Crushed Velvet. She is a new indie perfumer and as soon as I tried this I had to get a FB. It's sandalwood, vetiver and two types of roses and it's gorgeous.

MG fire again today

Snap! Spicy florals are really hitting the spot for me at the moment.

MissBattleaxe i’ve been looking for a Sandalwood and rose perfume for ages. Ever since I found a lovely body wash in Tk Maxx. I’ve tried layering Tam Dao with La fille de Berlin ( didn’t really work) and have just ordered the niche box from the perfume Society with the Molecule 4 for layering purposes. I shall have to try this Crushed Velvet now.
Ok, my perfume haul so far has been two bottles, one niche box and the Jardin Retrouvre sample set because of the free postage today. Does anyone like Ormonde Jayne perfumes? The solid perfumes in just five options have been reduced to around £40 something. I know there’s a lot of love for Ormonde Woman.
My nose is broken so I can’t smell anything at the moment. I have Roses Musk on my dressing gown & la fille de Berlin though.

JHag Moscow mule today. It's really not what I expected at all. I thought it would be a very cool vodka sort of scent but actually it reminds me of shay & blue blood oranges. I am full of cold though so I might feel differently when I'm not so bunged up.

XingMing · 23/11/2018 17:29

London didn't grab me, but it's tenacious lasted through the shower and Amsterdam hasn't overwhelmed me with love either, though it is a light and prettily inoffensive floral musk, but I am anosmic when it comes to musk.

Lotsofpots · 23/11/2018 17:33

@Mrsr8 this is what happens when I ask my
husband to go the post office... there was meant to be a card in the parcel saying I'd chucked in a sample of Shay & Blue Atropa Belladonna.
What do you make of Babylon Sunset?

I liked the Querelle but it dried down into a fairly generic vetiver after a few hours - it was nice enough but I can't see that it's going to get much wear tbh.

Am now bathed and in Creamy Vanilla Crumble. This house is soooooo colllllddddd so I needed something warming and delicious.

I think I need to start streamlining my collection. Much as I love having a ton of different choices, there is so much I just don't wear now. Or...perhaps it's time for another Perfumista Unworn Challenge Grin

I was just wondering if any of you are anywhere near Cardiff? I'm planning a perfume meet up in January. It may involve trying 4160 Tuesdays samples and eating cake.

@teta I am so pleased you ordered some LJR samples. I think you might really like Sandalwood Sacre or Rose Trocadero or both together. I'm a huge sandalwood fan too!

MissBattleaxe · 23/11/2018 19:31

XingMing you might like Brooklyn. It's very lemon limey and zingy.

SOTD was Tiffany & Co. This was an airport impulse buy which I rather regretted after trying it in the summer. It has a lovely opening but only lasts couple of hours, I thought. However, on trying it during the colder weather, I have changed my mind. It is a fresh, musky iris/floral, with fruity notes. The fruitiness is not juicy. It’s more like the perfumed zest of a warm orange and a fuzzy ripe peach, and it persists throughout the life of the perfume. It lasts only 2/3 hours but stays as a skin scent for several hours more, during which I can also smell the patchouli. They have introduced an intense version which is probably amazing (I haven’t tried it yet.)

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 24/11/2018 00:01

SOTD was Chanel 19, but now in Black Opium after a bath.

MrsLucas · 24/11/2018 00:07

SotE #1 is Tart's Kicker Drawer. I really rate this. I like the balance between sharp fruit and sweet, powdery musk. And the violet note. Tonight it reminds me a bit of Babylon Sunset (big sister?).

#2 is Creamy Vanilla Crumble. I realise, having smelt this, and LA's L'Ete en Douce, that I'm not big on coumarin.

Mrs8, I don’t get much fruit at all in Babylon Sunset, except for the opening, a bit. To me, it’s a sweet honeyed sandalwood, quite linear. I think you might like Tiffany & Co, but it’s too expensive really for what it is. Have you tried Sarah Jessica Parker’s Lovely? That’s beautifully musky with some woods.
