UGG boots? What's the general consensus?

I'd like to get a pair but I've heard mixed things. Are they worth the money? Are they suitable for someone who's in their late 20s? Thanks

And to think I came over all embarrassed the other day when my neighbour caught me hanging out the washing in my Uggs. I’m on holidays, it was about 7.30am, he’s a friend, and I was still slightly mortified!

That said, I’m quite the connoisseur of good Uggs. I buy mainly knee high ones, in a light sand colour. One has grey grosgrain ribbon Criss-crossed up the back, one has a knitted loose leg warmer thingo across the middle (cardi uggs). My big tip is to buy sheep wool inserts/insoles at the start, and remove them to wash regularly. Easier than washing the whole boot, cos they take days to dry.

They seem so expensive but they do look so warm.
