Merry Christmas all. Too full to say much, how you've so had lovely days wherever you are.

My onesie is too warm, I'm overheating!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 25/12/2018 23:36

merry christmas all, hope you've all had fab days with those you love

Longislandicetee · 26/12/2018 07:56

Merry Christmas everyone! hope you all had a wonderful day with love, laughter and happiness!

Ours was okay. When you're in an exclusive hotel with kids, it's just stressful trying to make sure that the very excited dcs don't disturb the other guests. I don't think we will do it this way again. Also, we have had some family crap to deal with which is just stressful all around. Oh and not helped by the fact that we are not in interconnecting rooms or a suite so dh and I have the rooms next door to each other instead of being together, not ideal. On the cheerier front, we spent some of the day by the pool and then got dressed up for a big formal lunch with a live band doing Christmas and other songs, which was lovely and then back by the pool.

Presents wise, dh got me the new Coldplay and Michael Buble CDs. He has been getting me CDs for almost 20 years so it's just part of our "thing", and one of my favourite parts of Christmas. I get very excited trying to guess which CD he has bought meGrin. And yes i know CDs make me a relic.Grin He also got me this Diptique holiday perfume gift set which was genius because i had wanted it for myself and had thought of gifting it to dsis. Finally he got me a bracelet which is brave given i have lost one of last year's Christmas presents!

Hope you all got lovely things, looking forward to seeing links! Happy Boxing Day! Smile

Anyone done any sales shopping?
I asked for this jumper for Xmas which dh got me but it went in the sle so today whilst out for lunch we returned it and rebought it. I then made him buy this one too Grin

DryWhiteagainW · 27/12/2018 00:01

Rolls in.....a belated happy Christmas to all of you lovely lot. I’ve over indulged. It’s been a lovely few days.

Off to look at sales online.....

FedupNagging · 27/12/2018 08:05

Morning, having a quiet coffee before visitors arrive for brunch.

Queen I ordered the exact same button back jumper yesterday but in the lighter blue; can't decide whether to hit the shops or just shop online for further shopping.

I definitely need trousers/jeans as several much loved pairs need replacing. It's always such a pita though for me as they always need taking up.

Has anyone taken down their decorations yet? Our tree is shedding needles at an alarming rate so that's coming down as soon as our guests have left! I'll probably leave everything else until we're home after ny. I'm always a bit sad when the festive lights go.

shopafrolic · 27/12/2018 09:33

I'm so over this. More family arriving today, then we are visiting friends tomorrow, and then have more people over on Saturday. I could quite happily sit in a corner by myself and see no-one.

We’re away until new year and I would have loved to have taken the tree down so I don’t have to come back to it but no one would let me!
It’s a lovely jumper fedup, I just hope it washes ok.

libertyonhertravels · 28/12/2018 02:13

Tree stays up until 6th Jan (little Christmas) - it's a rule.

Am shopping today in Christchurch. So far have bought some Lululemon leggings, handcream as a late Xmas present for MIL, coffee and cake time now then going to check out a bag and Hourglass makeup!

libertyonhertravels · 28/12/2018 04:35

Shopping update... No bag purchase. Bought Hourglass foundation and mascara, a hairbrush (Aveda paddlebrush), and a deeply unstylish but very necessary North Face rain jacket. Sniffed lots of perfume but didn't buy one.

MarshaBradyo · 29/12/2018 16:57

Hello how’s everyone doing?

Still in Christmas mode or January vibe - mainly talking about food now!

Sales - waiting for final reductions

shopafrolic · 29/12/2018 19:03

Waves to all. Right. The last of the guests have left. I can relax.
I am heading to London next week (Thursday) with DS if any of you have time for lunch? I need to get my piercing sorted at Liberty, plus I have £200 of cash burning a hole in my pocket for sale shopping. And then we will meet MrShop for dinner.

Your planned day out in London sounds lovely shop.

I'm looking at Sat 6th July for a day in London for me - hope some of you can do an MU that day Smile

DryWhiteagainW · 29/12/2018 23:19

I’ve just spent 3hrs on and off making this for a big dinner tomorrow . Fancied a challenge. Stuck religiously to the (annoying) recipe. Not sure it’s a success. But worried. Damn.
Main course is also a bit of a concern but I’ll deal with that tomorrow

DryWhiteagainW · 29/12/2018 23:21

What are you looking to buy Shop?

Queenchanel · 30/12/2018 07:40

Looks lovely dry.

So, it’s that time of year to review our purchases. What are your best and worst buys of 2018?
I haven’t kept a list of what I’ve bought this year but off the top of my head...
Best buys:
Hush denim shorts
Hush Grecian tops
Top shop jeans (I’ve discovered these this year and love my Leigh’s and Jamie’s)
Eyeko mascara (it came in my advent calendar but I will buy when it runs out)
Elie Saab perfume (Have finally found my signature scent)

Worst buys:
Whistles sweatshirts. I have 2 navy ones which I love but they’ve gone baggy at the bottom unlike my grey flamingo one which still looks great. I probably won’t buy another
Laura mercier eyeshadow-love tne product but not sure about the colour I chose (too coppery)
Hush Grecian dress-love the dress but saw a photo of me in it which I hated so it’s put me off!!
Ditto a blouse from Anthropologie!

BerniceBobsHerHair · 30/12/2018 08:20

Just passing through to say count me in, Lib!

libertyonhertravels · 30/12/2018 08:34

Yay Bernice Smile

Best buys:
Mi Piaci tan sandals - work with everything!
Witchery Navy tailored shorts - so flattering
Kowtow shirt dress and t shirt dress - versatile, wash well, feel like I have found a 'go to' kiwi brand.
I have high hopes for my Hourglass makeup

Worst buys
Bendon knickers - expensive and give terrible vpl. Am considering an M&S order for some pants.
Navy merino mix sweater from Witchery - has bobbled really badly and had to relegate it to loungewear after only 2 washes Shock

QueenC which Ellie Saab perfume did you get?

Queenchanel · 30/12/2018 08:45

this one lib. I got it in a specialised perfume shop. Tried on about 6 that was recommended based on my likes/dislikes. Much better experience than just going round perfume counters as they had loads of brands/price points. I actually wear this lots as it feels like me.

libertyonhertravels · 30/12/2018 09:06

That's a good idea going to a specialist shop queenc. I really want a lovely 'me' perfume and don't know where to start.

DryWhiteagainW · 30/12/2018 09:12

I’ve been quite sensible purchase wise this year.

My best are my red Zara coat which puts a smile on my face every time I wear it and a pair of Roberto Vianni heeled black ankle boots which I’ve worn almost every day for the last 3 months at work with everything.
The Hourglass powder Shop introduced me too has been a total game changer.

Unusually for me ther haven’t been many mistakes .

Queenchanel · 30/12/2018 09:13

It was a lovely experience-it was in my friends town and she knows the owner well so we got a glass of Prosecco too!

Queenchanel · 30/12/2018 09:17

dry love that you love your red coat so much.
My mistakes are having photos taken in clothes that I think look good Grin. It’s difficult to know whether to believe the mirror or the camera.
I’m pretty pissed off with the whistles sweatshirts as they’re not cheap. I had hoped that the first navy one I bought that became baggy was just a one off so really annoyed that the second one did it too. Shame because I love the design. But they’re still great for lounge wear!

Queenchanel · 30/12/2018 09:19

Another great buy was my j crew cardigan. I didn’t get s huge amount of wear from it but it will come into its own in the spring again. It’s too bulky to wear under a coat.
