I love that KM 30th shot. So pretty, such a good look.

Here’s an equally pretty one in case anyone wants Christmas party make up inspo

Not defining though. But I’m the same - love so many KM images.

How does she look so damned good in everything?

MarshaBradyo · 20/11/2018 22:18

I know, impossibly good

Breadfairy · 21/11/2018 02:13

Lib (it’s Fairy, I’ve namechanged), that article resonated with me. I think I might be starting to come out the other side though. I’ll pm you some things that have helped me (no magic bullet though). Moving countries is tough and, at one year in, you miss home, the novelty has worn off and it is tiring, but you don’t have the established relationships and experiences to lean on for support Flowers.

Loving my navy APC half moon bag. Other sales have left me a bit ‘meh’.

QueenCyan · 21/11/2018 07:12

Morning all. I love the support in this group. Sorry I derailed it with images but I’ve been having a shitty eeek myself.
lib you are doing amazingly considering how many big life changes you’ve been through. Just moving house is enough stress let alone moving across the world dnd starting a new job etc.
stokey bullying is totally unacceptable and if you can report then do so. I find it unfathomable that grown ups still think they can get away with playground behaviour.

I’m on 2 study days now related to my new role which although I know will be really good/interesting, it will also totally knacker me out!!

shopafrolic · 21/11/2018 08:06

Bernice I love the Me&em skirt but wish I had sized down - as the fabric warms up it seems to stretch - I think I may put a thin belt round and roll the waistband over it to solve the problem. Might be worth trying two sizes..... Length and fabric are great.

Bernice you are spot on - I think I'm perimenopausal and I need to priortise getting to a doctor.

Stokey I am so sorry to hear what's happening for you at work - my boss is hard, hard work and it's exhausting. If you can get help from HR you should do it. Sadly, my boss reports to the CEO who is also a bully so I don't think HR is an option for me. I suspect my CEO will be off in less than 12 months so I'm hoping the mood / culture may change then.

Marsha Brene Brown is just amazing - all her stuff is so moving - check out this TED talk

Fairy thank you for your lovely, lovely PM - I'll reply properly at the weekend Flowers

QueenC I love the images Smile. Sending you a hug.

On a lighter note the decorators got the room half papered today - it's fantastic Smile. Can't wait to see it finished tomorrow. I'll post a before and after picture. Have to work out curtains now.

shopafrolic · 21/11/2018 09:03

Oh Lib I can't wait to see the paper. Exciting :)

Loved that TedTalk Lib - timely

How funny Shop I've just been watching it again - love that we were doing it at the same time Smile

libertyonhertravels · 21/11/2018 10:30

Bernice forgot to reply re Christmas presents...

Shop has great ideas. I'd add things like a National Trust subscription or one year V&A membership or similar, a cooking class, wine tasting experience, Riedel wine glasses for whatever their favourite wine is. If they like crafts then supplies like a some lovely fabric or gorgeous paper. Nice notebooks are always useful and a bit indulgent.

MarshaBradyo · 21/11/2018 12:23

I loved that blog post so I’ll defo check her out Lib. Can’t wait to see the room

Dolce & Gabbana in hot water in China, show cancelled, and rightly so after seeing the clip they did (saw it on diet Prada Instagram). Unbelievable, what were they thinking. Would love to know if an agency put that together - so stupid

Redandblue11 · 21/11/2018 12:35

Morning all - ops is after noon now. Working from home and happy is cold enough to wear my cashmere sweaters. I actually hate the cold but trying to put a positive spin on the fact is f*ing freezing...

queen the three images you posted yesterday were fab! And that one of Kate on that pink trousers and black shirt ... the other day I saw a pair of YSL ones in a dress agency in perfect condition for £25 ... I did not get them as I was not sure how to wear them or what shoes ... now seeing that image is tempting me to go and get them!
Would you wear them in winter and if so... what shoes? How else could I wear them?
Pondering 🤔

Stokey · 21/11/2018 13:41

Amazing no-one flagged it Marsha, seems so obvious.

Love Kate in flares QueenC, this was totally my late 90s look. And my contribution is Kate in leopard. Far too ubiquitous this season, but does remind you how great it is when done well!

All these bullies in managerial roles really make me mad, sorry for you Lib. I'm divided about HR, slightly worried escalating may end up having repercussions. Loved that blog.

Shop you sound like the best present giver ever!

I've done a bit of retail therapy - couple of midi dresses from Stories, this and this. This style really suits me, I'll wear with vest or black polo under and black slouchy boots. Hoping the second can be my go-to for the party season.

shopafrolic · 21/11/2018 13:47

Stokey I feel like we should do a MNV Secret Santa. I reckon we'd all get each other the best small gifts :)
I love both of those dresses Stokey - I wish I could wear stuff like that - gorgeous. I also love the knee high cowboy boots - was tempted but not sure they'd work with jeans so doubt I would wear.
I can't help feeling that I have gone back to my 90s self. The short hair, ear cuffs, faux fur coats, trainers. Anyone else? MrShop says I am much happier now my hair has gone - I think he's right.
Off to look at Diet Prada.

Stokey · 21/11/2018 13:54

I'm the same Shop, was wearing a grey and black striped chunky jumper yesterday and chunky black boots. Remarked to a friend that all I was missing was Levi 501s to be back to my Camden market urchin of the 90s! & YY to MNV secret Santa!

I meant to say thank you all so much for the support - means a lot - you're a bunch of amazing ladies.

Thanks for the menopause thread too Bernice, I'm very confused about it all as have coil which should ease the effects. Think I need to see a DR too, my GP's rubbish though.

shopafrolic · 21/11/2018 14:26

Stokey I have a coil - definite cycle with it of needing ADs initially due to increased anxiety, then it eases off, and then when I had a new one fitted I needed ADs again. V frustrating but I tried 3 months with no coil and it is not an option for me. I hate that women have to make choices between contraception and mental health.

Hey RedandBlue I guess ankle boots - I liked some pics Mara, I think, posted ages ago. Not much help as can’t recall when ;

MarshaBradyo · 21/11/2018 20:30

Has anyone travelled at Christmas? Did you do a tree?

I love a good tree and would miss not doing it but not sure if it’s too indulgent to do it for a shorter time.

MarshaBradyo · 21/11/2018 20:32

Stokey can see that look on you v much, lovely dresses too

90s hmm I wore clogs a lot! Still favour the comfortable shoe

Dreamqueen · 22/11/2018 07:36

Flowers for Stokey and Lib. Sorry to read that you're having a tough time.

Shop your present ideas are ace.

Loev those dresses Stokey

Marsha I put my tree up yesterday. I'm away from the weekend until just before Christmas but I guess if you put it up now you'd have the enjoyment until you go away. When do you travel?

I used a code on the Christmas thread to get free flowers from www.freddiesflowers.com They arrived this morning and are lovely. I'm going to keep the subscription going but change delivery to monthly as a treat to myself. Otherwise they say it's easy to cancel after free box arrives. If anyone wants to use my code it's Susanm10.

Redandblue11 · 22/11/2018 08:00

marsha we go away for Xmas always week before, one year I did not do the tree and regretted it , is so lovely to have a xmassy house .
This year we are away again and might put it next weekend to make the most of it.

stokey I am also planning to get a coil, I really hope it works for me as I get dreadful pain, also hope it does not affect me mentally as I do tend to suffer with a bit of anxiety, but now has been under control for some time.

Loving how a frosty morning looks tough, and wearing a woolly skirt I got from Stories on my way to work to cheer me up in the cold.

shopafrolic · 22/11/2018 08:13

Redandblue have you NCed or are you a newbie? Welcome if the latter :)
Morning all. If anyone liked The Little Botanical idea they are having 20% off tomorrow I believe..... their Facebook page will tell you more.

Thanks Red and Dream
That’s good to know, I feel the same so going to get one earlier. We leave on 15th away over Christmas. Usually we spend it here or Aus, this is the first one nearer the equator on an actual (resort, yoga type retreat) holiday - big difference!
