How is your weight

belgo · 05/06/2007 19:03

love no. 1, but with the red trim, not a gold trim! (my wedding dress was red) Not so keen on any of the rest.

I don't usually like strapless dresses.

Smurfgirl · 05/06/2007 19:04

currently size 16, will be size 14 on wedding day

I don't like the Afred Angelo ones - they look cheap.

I like AD1011 best! Did you mean to post it twice?

BeatrootandBenedick · 05/06/2007 19:04

yes you would need to be slim for them imo. how long have you got before wedding

REIDmylips · 05/06/2007 19:05

love them all but no 1 is my favorite (but i like the red trim, must admit) and i also like number 5 a lot x

Smurfgirl · 05/06/2007 19:05

I like that new one, with the red bouquet

chacha3 · 05/06/2007 19:09

size 16 is fine! i am sure any of those dresses would look great on you! as they alter dresses to make you look your best!

CountessDracula · 05/06/2007 19:11

no sorry i don#t

all wedding dresses seem to look like this now and it's boring

Smurfgirl · 05/06/2007 19:12

I liked no 1 (with red or gold trim- but not together or people will hand a fairy on your head and sing o come all ye faithful at you - sorry in a wierd mood today), but I am chronically allergic to frills or flounces. It depends what looks best on you though, not what we thinhk. For example the one with the pink empire detail was quite nice but the model looked odd, so consequentially so did the dress.

cazzybabs · 05/06/2007 19:12

I also like this one "Aseel Marie". A line shapes are the most flattering. I had one at my wedding. But Ithink you need to try them on, espcially spening that much money on a dress.

cazzybabs · 05/06/2007 19:13

Mind oyu I think you can get the maggie ones cheaper from the internet, than in the shops. Still worth going to shops to try them out. Yoiu may find on eyou hevn't even considered that really suits you!

Peachy · 05/06/2007 19:15

actually I am told with a lot of them, you can get a cheap ticket to America buy the same dress and stills ave money- they're usually quite a lot cheaper over there and at least it becomes a special shopping treat then. Alfred Angelo is apaprently one of these American saver brands.

sniff · 05/06/2007 19:16

I really like no 5

Smurfgirl · 05/06/2007 19:17

would def be gold don't like red for weddings

have tried on no.1 and its nice on.

i suit that a-line shape of dress best def.

I don't think I would wear off the shoulder if I was not slim. I think you will have overhanging boobs arm fat.

if you go for a straighter dress that you can wear a bra it might be more flatttering

Peachy · 05/06/2007 19:20

the ones I would consider are sincerity 3222 and 3180, and romantica diane- I am about a 14.

HOWEVER shoudl point out that i tried on one dress, got a strange urge to wear doc martens and protest about gift wrapping women to present to new owners wrapped us a wedding ceremony (never will now where thatc ame from LOL- did the whole big wedding and loved it), and bought something grey and simple from John Lewis

and regretted it!

CountessDracula · 05/06/2007 19:21

i would try and find someothing that didn't look like all the other dresses!

Smurfgirl · 05/06/2007 19:23

example of straighter dress beety - tbh i wonder if i would look like a sausage in them?

i would obviously have a strapless bra under any dress, i like the laceup back ones because they give me a nicer shape. i am quite narrow around my boobs although they are big, don't have a big bum or massive hips

OP posts:
Peachy · 05/06/2007 19:25

you won't look a sausage if its well cut. And 14 or 16 isnt huge- note on my link that 18 ids the smallest size for big dresses. How about looking at the shapes they use of you are looking for ideas- and then finding something smaller?

Peachy · 05/06/2007 19:26

how about vr2120?
