good idea, I just thought that if you were going to keep the bolero on something with sleevs might replace the bolero.

I really really like number 5 - I think the pink bow will also draw people eye line up away from your tummy.

I had a Maggie Sottero gown and they are so much better quality than the Alfred Angelo ones. I tried several of both gowns on and you can tell the difference in quality. They are quite alot more expensive but it's def worth it I think. I ended up hiring mine as I couldn't stretch to the £2k it cost but I fel like a princess on my wedding day. I did initially buy a AA dress but changed my mind a couple of months before the wedding.

Maggie dresses are about £500-£1250 I think, I have tried a few on and LOVED them.

This is my fave so far.

tbh some of the ones with sleeves look like something my mum would chose which does put me off, i am 22 and i suspect this is influencing me

I like that as well, I am 32 so perhaps not old enough to be your mother but certainly older than you.

twinsetandpearls · 06/06/2007 16:49

I don't think those ones compare but that could be down to photography or models.

Smurfgirl · 06/06/2007 16:58

the pics are shite because i don't think the models have hoops on under the dresses

didn;t mean to be rude twinset - i do actually really like that dress and would try it on if it was in the shop! just some of the longer sleeves ones look v.1980s

you don't want to know what my 54yr old mother picks out for me - i just keep repeating - its NOT 1981!!

OP posts:
twinsetandpearls · 06/06/2007 17:04

I didn't think you were being rude I was just acknoweldging that I am ten years older than you and am also very body conscious so would choose something different from you.

Peachy · 06/06/2007 17:14

smurf cant be worse than my mum, she thought jeans (jeans. in a wedding in a water mill with lakes nd waterfalls etc- )

still worth looking at p;aces like Sassi because once you can see something that makes you go wow! you know what you're looking for, iykwim. Its like tents (OK I am sad)- you'll see lots of 'hmm, that one is OK maybe I'll have that'- and then you'll see one and you'll go 'ah that's the one I was waiting for'

Like men, for those who are lucky

Smurfgirl · 06/06/2007 17:20

My mum kept picking our reallllllllllly sparkly beaded poofy ones that were so 80s. She has made some rather interesting suggestions - she nearly fainted when i said that i would rather not have personalised napkins and organza bags for my sugared almonds

Peachy · 06/06/2007 17:22

Could be worse- my friends Mum and dad put a down payment on a specific wedding dress for her whilst she was in nappies LOL

It was hideous- huge red bow on back / arms

she loved it though. theyw ere a strange family.

Dad got the waiters to specifically tell all the guests how costly the Champage was- my mate turned around and said 'Goodness, and yet abck home (she's french) we consider it such a low class one'

but as well

daydreambeliever · 06/06/2007 17:34

I like no 3/4 best. Number 1 next. not keen on 5 or 2 or the other one. I reckon that sort of style overall is gorgeous, and will be incredible to wear.

tortoiseSHELL · 06/06/2007 19:10

this one is nice

Peachy · 06/06/2007 21:40

Its a nice dress that one (even if the model does looka s if the feather is up her nose)

tortoiseSHELL · 06/06/2007 22:55

lol @ the feather!
