I can’t be bothered to blow dry it I’ve just put some bumble and bumble oil on it but I loathe to pay £23 for a small bottle.

The jumpsuit is to size although the top must be big because it buttoned up over my 36h’s easily.

There wasn’t the full range in I must admit but, bloody hell, it’s expensive I think I fall for the packaging!! It didn’t look the same in the shop.

Uniqlo have fantastic winter basics in.

user1487671808 · 19/08/2018 17:39

Made a special trip to John Lewis today and have to say I was truly underwhelmed. The stock was fairly limited, they had the black star jeans but no skinnies and various other bits but nothing leapt out at me to make it worth the price. I like the bright red colour but no way am I paying £99-130 for a jumper and everything else was just a bit dull.

I’m going to order the leopard print leggings and the vneck loose tops. They had black ones in store but I couldn’t decide what size looked better. I’m quite tall and a size 10 in most stuff, would you get small or xs? Sleeves felt very fitted but bodies much looser. I want to wear over skinnies too if I get them. I really wanted to see the black skinny jeans too, I can’t decide if I want frayed gems or if the Jackson ones are better. £79 is a lot to spend on jeans, I normally buy them in new look or Primark.

user1487671808 · 19/08/2018 17:40

Also a quick look in Primark and they have white plimsolls with a leopard skin trim which looked quite funky. I should have bought them but ran out of time. Only £8 and I think they’ll sell well.

I've been an avid Hush purchaser for a couple of years but am completely underwhelmed so far with AW18, am sure there will be more to come but I'm getting a bit tired of seeing the same clothes with different colour/fabric regurgitated each time. Can't believe I'm saying this as I've been addicted for the last 2 years!!

I bought the leopard print leggings from JL online and collected this morning, they're definitely going back. I went for small (am size 6/8 or XS/S in most things Hush) and they are definitely the right size but baggy in the knees and too long so bunched up around my ankles. Am really disappointed but they feel & look cheap and the fabric doesn't have enough "give" - I reckon one wear and the knees will be permanently saggy. I'm going to save the money and buy some Lululemon Align leggings - more expensive but worth it for the quality and fit.

The only other thing I'm tempted by is the jumper with stars down the arms, that's really lovely.

ilovecherries · 19/08/2018 17:53

I’ve been a bit disappointed as well, caterpuller. I do love my leopard Amies, and a couple of the wide jersey tops and I MIGHT buy a new Ivy, but I’m not feeling the lust this season.

user, I would def get the XS. Mine are small and I’m a sturdy 12.

caterpuller · 19/08/2018 18:03

ilovecherries I'm glad it's not just me! I am hoping the weather improves again for a few weeks (as apparently predicted) so that I can continue to enjoy my faves from SS18. In June/July/August I've bought the b&w striped Amie joggers in the sale for £15 and am loving those, plus the Deja embroidered top, Antibes gingham one, the Gisele shift dress, Dana maxi dress....maybe I've got Hush overload!! Perhaps if I take a break for a few weeks I might rediscover my love??

EachandEveryone · 19/08/2018 18:24

Dont force yourself as that will truely be expensive. See my previous posts re my thoughts on the this years collection. I feel exactly the same now ive seen it and tried on. Its the pricing, like Boden where do they get these figures from?

I know im returning the leggings and v neck tops before i open the box. Im got ng to get the leggings Ella had on and Uniqlo is the place for v neck big thin jumpers. However. I will order a new pair of joggers and the dress with zebras on it because i never saw it in the shop. I liked the jumper with the star on it as well but £79? I dunno.

ilovecherries · 19/08/2018 18:32

Well, that’s the other thing, Caterpuller, I’ve got three holidays coming up (it’s complicated), so I’m not nearly ready to let summer go, and in fact my summer clothes will be coming into their own over the next 6 weeks. So I’m possibly just not in the mindset.

user1487671808 · 19/08/2018 18:43

caterpuller Even the jumper with the stars down the arms is a bit meh in reality and doesn’t look expensive enough to justify the price.
ilovecherries Thankyou, I suspected Xs might be best but I always buy tops on the large side for some reason. I don’t think they’re worth £45 though. I looked at the Ivy dress too but it was just shapeless on me which is a shame because I like the idea of it and it looks much better in the photos on here.
Annoyingly I bought two longline tank tops the other day but in M not S so they are annoyingly baggy round my middle so no good for layering. I’d taken the labels off before I realised so will have to sell them on fb. I really like the longline stretch tops and have a few old ones but might buy a new one this year too. No new colours though. Those I tend to buy big so they don’t cling to the waistband of my jeans.
Has anyone bought the Jackson jeans? I was never attracted to the old Bailey blue ones as I thought they looked odd on the model but the new ones look nicer. Would they be better for winter than the ones with the frayed hems?

user1487671808 · 19/08/2018 18:47

Meant to say, today I wore the £10 denim mini with an old hush tee and it looked really good. I was worried it would be too short but it was fine and because it’s A line it sat really nicely. DH said it looked great (rare) and I felt well dressed in a casual sort of way.

Missbobbins · 19/08/2018 19:17

@EachandEveryone I also have similar hair and can second both Moroccan Oil (the curl cream) or Aveda Be Curly - I alternate as my hair gets used to them after a while. If I don't use them, I am like the wild woman of the hills! 🤯
I love the skirt - what would you wear with it?

Ellapaella · 19/08/2018 19:20

@EachandEveryone did uniqlo have any longish v neck jumpers did you notice? I want a fine knit long sleeve jumper that covers my bum to go with skinnies and the leggings. At the moment the only thing I've seen is the wide jersey top but have heard good things about uniqlo, however their website is shocking - the hardest to navigate round I've ever come across! I'm nowhere near a store.

Oh that’s a shame, I forget how fortunate I am sometimes. Yes they had fine merino ones in.

dontcallmelen · 19/08/2018 19:33

Yy ella the website, I finally managed to find what I wanted then at the checkout it wouldn’t recognise my card number, so gave up as I was on the verge of throwing my iPad out of the window.

Laska5772 · 19/08/2018 19:38

Uniqlo are very cheap .. Are they any good?

What is their cashmere like?

£185 for a Hush cashmere black BF jumper is Shock!!!!, Even though it does look exactly the thing..
has anyone here ever bought a Hush cashmere ( is it that much better quality than JL or Boden ? .. unicorn cashmere perchance

EachandEveryone · 19/08/2018 19:43

I can’t wear cashmere it makes me sneeze so I’m not good

Ellapaella · 19/08/2018 19:45

@Laska5772 nope never bought Hush cashmere. Have had Boden - it's ok, no better than anywhere else. My favourite cashmere jumpers are actually woolovers ones from a few years back. Very plain and simple design but go with everything.
I'm going to order the uniqlo merino v neck to see what it's like so will report back.
Thanks @EachandEveryone
Len - I'm going to try and order something, fingers crossed it'll be a smooth ride.

dontcallmelen · 19/08/2018 19:47

The Uniqlo cardigans, are a good price & have washed quite well I was going to order, a v neck merino wool jumper too see how it compares with the M&S v neck.

ilovecherries · 19/08/2018 19:55

The uniqlo website is particularly awful on iPad/phone/tablet - it is REALLY easy to order the wrong thing. It’s a bit better on a computer. I’ve never been disappointed with an order though. Love their merino but the women’s isn’t terribly long. I usually buy a small mans one.

caterpuller · 19/08/2018 19:57

user thanks for the info on the jumper, I would probably give it a go with 20% (or more) off but knowing it's not all that great is helpful! I do have lots of lovely jumpers (and quite a few Hush ones) so don't really need it...if it was amazing I'd be tempted so you've saved me the trouble.
Another Uniqlo fan here, their basics are great and very well priced.

ilovecherries · 19/08/2018 20:02

I ordered ziggy in the JL sale last winter, and sent it back. The colour wasn’t as nice as this year, but the wool was almost felted, I found it heavy and uncomfortable. Oh - re uniqlo, I also love their heat tech.

BWatchWatcher · 19/08/2018 20:04

Uniqlo merino wool is great!
Looks lovely and washes well.

carr1e1977 · 19/08/2018 20:11

I have a variety of Uniqlo merino and cashmere jumpers that I bought in the sale last year. All lovely quality. I opted for the mens range though as someone recommended they are a better fit. Not sure if true, but I like them!
